would you recommend this film for people who don't like a lot of loud background music? For example, this castle 🏰 scene seems to suggest the film has a calm classical sound as opposed to bash bash bash😂
Saw the film on Xmas. Fantastic film, pays respect to the 1922 original, but is it's own film. Wonderful acting, perfect cinematography. Eggers has given us the new standard against which every forthcoming vampire will be measured against... i recommend seeing it.
Just saw it today for the second time (o got to see an advanced screening). I thought it was good the first time. The second time I thought it was better than good. It’s great! It’s fantastic! It’s what I’ve been waiting to see in a vampire movie for most of my life. An amalgam of the original with elements from the book and from folklore. Just an excellent, excellent, movie.
@@scottmoore1614 We almost couldn’t see it. Bram Stoker’s widow sued the producers of the original Nosferatu in 1922 and wanted all prints destroyed but a few remained. I read that it took awhile to even make a complete version for viewing. Lawyers, those blood suckers! Life imitating art. Even a movie about vampires has to be hunted down and destroyed. It still survived and just added to the mystique.
These earlier sequences with Thomas and Orlok at the castle, were the best part of the movie. I really liked the movie, but it is very slow and repetitive at times. Still a great visual and audio experience.
@@PhilipLongee-vw8jf It’s a miracle the 1922 film survived. It’s a landmark horror film and one of my favorite silent films. I also enjoyed the remake with Klaus Kinski that was done in 1979. It had more of a haunting, dreamlike quality to it. “Shadow of the Vampire” is also worth checking out, if you want to see all things Orlok. It’s a fictional film about the making of the original 1922 film, with Willem Dafoe as actor Max Schreck.
Saw it last night. Total disappointment. It's the same disappointment I got with Scott's Napoleon. They just can't make good movies anymore - no matter what. Just as people were laughing at the character Napoleon when I saw that last year - the audience was laughing at Orlok's character especially at the end. Herzog's is the best.
Definitely not terrible. Definitely not what critics and other video reactions have made it out to be. The VVitch was scarier without even trying to be. It was good. Not a masterpiece by any means
Saw it today!! An outstanding movie. Once it starts you are on a roller coaster. Well acted, well lit, oustanding costumes! GO SEE IT!

That horse scene at the crossroads was bad ass i tell you, one of the finest scenes from Eggers
I’m so glad that he is getting more attention
Such a great actor ❤
Nicholas Hoult has been killing it this year.
@@missdee4927
same for Aaron Taylor-Johnson. He killed a lot more in Kraven.

Anybody spotted Orlok's movement when he walked away? It kind of looks like as if it was still like in the old film!
Okay you saw that too, yeah like in stop motion.
@@TaxeoTonEpta360 Yes exactly! I hope it is the same in the movie itself!
Phenomenal film!
The novel Dracula by Bram Stoker is awesome.
But but but...this is not a Christmas movie, it’s a Halloween movie!!!
Actually, this story does take place during Christmas.
Ghost stories were traditionally told at Christmastime.
I saw it today it was good and sneaky and evil Mr NOSFERATU!
Interessantíssimo!
I want to see this movie 🎬
Has anyone seen this movie? Yet
He got balls of steel
Well at least we arent mucking around in Delft any more.
WEF on holiday!
0:46 Who the heck is that!
Orlok probably
It's Orlok
Count orlok! Just like the original except here they don't show him fully like they do in the 1922 one.
Who do you think lol
@@TuchNGoh I would take my leave and not go inside the castle.
This looks so good. Why do I have to wait till the 1st of Jan!
I thought it came out today?
@nickbraet7493 it does for the US. Not for the UK & Australia
@@Aduder999 that sucks. In Belgium it also releases today though. I'm going to see it tomorrow.
@nickbraet7493 lucky. It looks incredible
@@Aduder999 indeed it does. Eggers hasn't disappointed so far.
This was a true Christmas messages - focused on Christ! As it should be. ❤🙏🎄
This is so scary! Much better than the silent version!
To be fair, firm makers have had a 100 yrs to grow their craft.
If not for the original, we would have never had this version.

I seen it today and it was over hyped. It’s kinda boring. The acting is good and visually looks amazing but it needed more
So so, a repeat of Bram Stalker.
Save your money it’s a terrible movie 🤮🤮

@@330devansbetter than the witch in my opinion glad orlok had more screen time than I thought too
@330devans is Nosferatu as sexual as they make it seem? Was trying to bring my kids.. but idk
Hoult is Renfield again!
Actually, Hutter`s the Nosferatu version of Jonathan Harker. His employer Knock played by Simon McBurney is the Nosferatu version of Renfield.
BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA WAS MUCH BETTER
Francis Ford Coppola movie you meant?
