CGB i'm here to say that i tried this deck today, won against 2 decks with Archfiend of the Dross, by stalling with the crab for 4 turns so they lose to their own Archfiend, it was awesome and i loved it!
In the early '90s, hermit crabs suddenly became the cool middle-school pet for some reason. I remember telling a classmate after summer break that I "got crabs." His response was s shush me and tell me I don't want everybody to know. Later, I would give crabs to my whole science class (I brought some in and cared for them as a class pet).
CGB this deck is the bomb!...downloaded it today. It has won 90% of the time so far. I didn't think that little land would work but so far I had plenty of lands...very surprising...:)
I've been playing this deck since you recommended it to voxxy and this is the first strong standard deck I've really enjoyed playing, got to platinum in the last week of last season from silver and I'm back there again
You can also easily make this even more budget friendly by taking out two of the storm chaser talents and both analyze the pollens to run the Altanak package. He wins games sometimes.
I know this is speculation for way down the line, but the Oko from Thunder Junction may be great after rotation when we lose a lot of the Exile removal from the Brothers War - March of the Machines
This deck is good fun, really preys upon the decks that are running 4 cut down to cope with aggro. The last time I was running was with an Altanak package, which I could take or leave. But the card that stood out to me was Season of Weaving. You can create token copies of your Terrors or Crabs, your opponents threats go away, and you recycle your talents, which recycle your season so you wind up playing it every other turn while you stack up a set of 5/5s. I also had to run some counter magic because r/w tokens was big at the time and I didn't want to eat a Sunfall. The odd Deadly Cover Up was worse. It's hard to win with either Crabs or Terrors removed from the game.
This has been my main deck for at least 2 weeks, It's fun and has a good winning chance against most decks. The only downside is that it's weak to mill and your greatest enemy is you yourself and your own lands/mana. I lose half my games from not drawing a 3rd or 4th land even with multiple draw/mills.
I like that CGB wrecks some of these decks that control the meta with new decks and “outside the box” decks. Makes me feel like there’s hope against mono black and mono red
Long winded algorithm question: I love your content and everything you do. I’ll usually watch your Standard videos and I’ll listen to the podcasts in the car. But I never really get into the brawl videos. But I don’t want you to burn out. For the brawl videos, is it enough to open, like, and comment, or is watching really the only metric that helps and the other stuff is icing on the cake?
Liking at the beginning of the video is half the impact on the algorithm. Increasing watch time is the other half that creators need, but it won't matter if you've already done 50% of the job: most people don't watch all the way through, so don't feel bad if you just don't want to watch it.
I see this deck in like 60% of my matches in gold (playing a new deck so I'm low). Pretty tough to deal with for my unholy annex zombie/demon deck. I'm like 40% against it
I have played this deck for a while. The main weakness is where they have graveyard removal like the ghost vacuum or agatha’s soul cauldron. This can be frustrating as the algorithm will make sure you run into those decks far too often. Bo3 is not really an option either. The more popular the reanimator meta the worse the deck is (opponents are including cards to remove Valgavoth, Atraxa and Etali but it will annihilate your deck all the same).
@ In my deck I only run two counter spells. It does have a mid-game control aspect but it has a lot of sorcery speed spells in the early game where you cannot hold up mana as it’s all about the tempo to fill your graveyard. The counterspells are just for addressing opponents combos or a deadly cover up.
this deck stands against a lot of different deck styles especially when it has the potential to come out early in the game I did however lose to an angel deck once
It’s weird to me that a 60 card deck can be considered a “theme” deck like crabs when the crabs piece is such a small percentage and the rest is stuff generally found in other decks. 😂
This is just a worse version of mono blue tempo and it isn’t even lower on the rare count. Spend those 6 rare cards you’d be using on talent and analyze pollen and all the rares you’d have to dump on the land base and just get three or four djinns and a couple of three steps ahead.

The Dross finally working as intended🙏🏻
Great that you came here to say that. GG
lose, not “loose”
I love how many ways this deck can time walk people.

The way you worded this comment was on purpose, wasn’t it?
@ItWatchesWithoutEyes yes.
Cutest comment. I'm in love
If anyone were wondering, Invar is an alloy, and not just a silly name.
I know this because of modded minecraft 🤓
I love this battlecrabs deck, one of the first tournament designs I actually use in Standard. It's very fun.

Don't worry, you'll lose every game tomorrow 🙄 I hope not, but it happened to me

To clarify I mean three say it's names and one big ol' Beetlejuice
I play this deck with basically all basics and it's SUPER fine. Bushwack and Analyze OP

I never thought CGB would make a video on this but I am so here for it.
What extremely fortuitous timing. I just built a similar deck, and I can't wait to see what I can improve with.

Tried this deck lost 14 in a row. Cool deck, thanks.
Ooh simic deck! Haven't seen one of those in a while.
I hope the deck gets buffed in the next set, it’s such a cool list
Great, now everyone is going to have crabs on the ladder. Good thing I have a special shampoo.
This deck just makes me miss Hullbreaker Horror

I hope you get better from your crabs 🙏
Was playing WB Aristocrats yesterday and ran into this deck 3 outta 4 games, so it's def gaining popularity. But I went 3-0 in those games so 🤷♂
I knew it. You can't be that hot and not have crabs ❤
Just played against this crab deck they outdrawn themselves 👏
Trying this deck right now, and how is it I've gotten 3 games in a row where rest in peace is played main board?
It's the good itch.

I think you gotta run some counter magic such as minor misstep to cover the graveyard hate, it's pretty rough in bo3 though

Why Unsommen over Into the Floodmaw? is there a reason?
You can bounce your own creatures to dodge board wipes so you can keep up pressure
@@AndyG3173 ye that makes sense. Overread the "opponents" on Into the floodmaw. Thanks!
Well, I guess he has been hanging out with Voxy
CGB is playing with veracruzanos

Does your wife know?

The meta is so consolidated that decks are named after the 1 or 2 card differences between them rather than overall themes
Saying Kaladesh is fine, they're not retroactively renaming the old sets
Crabs!
W title
This is weird. A low land count, low to the ground deck that still has an expensive endgame if it has to come down to it.
I have had good fortune w dimir crabs as well
I prefer to keep crabs far away from my deck.
Does it wife know you like puff daddy?
!
Such a cancerous simic deck. 🦀 🦀
🥁
You should go see a doctor
But CGB…
How is this good its too slow in standard couldnt get a single win in ranked
Only 15 views in 4 minutes? Hate to see him falling off 😭
