Been a rough few weeks personally & financially, still lingering heart issues saw me up A&E again this morning. Several recent vids hit with claims/strikes, sapping ny revenue. Thanks for all your support, I really hope you enjoy. Big shout out to my patrons who've helped ease the burden a little as well!
I hope you can keep this up tbh I love how u talk about anime like this and I hope u are good
Hope you get well soon
you were in A&E struggling financially, getting vids striked and yet you still push on you are the definition of perseverance mate, keep up the amazing content, love your vids.
What does A&E mean?
@@NigelByrd It's the same as an ER just said differently
Short explanation on why Clayman's attacks didn't work on Shion: Clayman's mind control works by modifying the structure of the brain, but after being revived Shion became something similar to a Zombie (the official name is Evil Oni). Even if you destroy her head she still will recover with all of her memories intact, her memory and personality remain regardless of the state of the brain.
So Gobzo is also a Zombie Goblin?
@@vanquisher4700 yes
@@vanquisher4700 Yes, in the LN and manga he does the dance showing his stomach with a knife through his head
Well that makes sense too. Here I thought it was just plain because she was more powerful than Clayman, due to her being one of Rimuru's lieutenants, and Clayman just being a "zako" who severely overestimated his own ability.
Hell, Shion probably could have beaten him _after_ his awakening.
They aren't really zombies per say they are almost immortal as long as Rimuru is still alive though. Everyone revived was given a special skill, perfect memory Raphael following what she felt was Rimurus wish for them to all come backs as they were in life gave them that skill as well as a form of ultimate regeneration. So yeah even if they lost their head it would regrow and their memories would be intact.
As an LN reader, there is one thing I really like about this story, Rimuru's enemies truly respect and fear his power. They do not ASSUME they can win because he is a slime... At least after he is established as a Demon Lord.
Which makes sense as that was the whole purpose of becoming an official demon lord so others think twice before messing with his nation, and not to mention the revival of veldora who is known as a natural disaster teaming up with a demon lord is probably the scariest thing to humanity which further makes sense why enemies are more hesistant to attack tempest now.
Defy enemies.
When season 3 rolls around, I hope we get to see what Shion did to King Edmaris like it's described in the manga. It sounded sick, cruel, and cool at the same time.
I like how all his enemies eventually become allies
Apart from the eastern empire they assume that he is just hiding behind Veldoras power
on the final beatdown for Clayman, Rimuru used though acceleration on him. Meaning every seccond he spend getting punched felt like 277 days. Kid of explains why Clayman looked so broken at the end.
Also, I love the fact that Rimuru just casually STOLE the barrier technique from the main demon lord.
So it's the same type of stand as Gold experience
@@gachaperson3774 I guess it does have some similarities, it's pretty much as op as Gold Experience tbh.
@@arthurgraton7165 so basically jojo ref
@@BeeCygNus I mean, he is voiced by DIO. And the fight did start with a flurry of blow from Shion worthy of a ora ora.
277? i thought the anime mentioned just "days" so i assume around 3 or 4. And if the LN says something else then the anime is opposing the ln content
I'm so glad that you praised Ramiris and her VA, I've always liked her cute little cocky character and her VA moved her up into one of my favorites! All of Octagram have amazing VAs and some like Leon, Guy, Dagruel and Dino have really famous ones!
40:39 I honestly expected a win for animating Dino falling down to the ground after Rimuru absorbed the table, not even that was enough to disturb his sleep!
Also, the reason why the animation during the Walpurgis fight reminded you of Black Clover is probably because those episodes were outsourced to Studio Pierot.

It's hard not to love Ramiris

I've said it before, I'll say it again:
Being able to make the person watching your show GENUINELY angry or sad about a character is something that is extremely rare in anime, and when it's done well it's one of the most satisfying things to watch because you ENJOY hating the character, or you feel yourself saddened because the story truly dragged you in deep.
Tensura is one of the few anime I've watched where I've actually felt emotions other than being happy or excited, and it's done PERFECTLY
It's hard to believe that it is isekai, Rimuru is like old school mc, giving me vibes of goku. Nowadays most isekai are harem with annoying protagonists.
I'm so happy Shuna finally got a chance to show off too.
Sure she got a lot of nice peaceful scenes, but compared to the other kirin (except Kurobe the smith) she never got a chance to show off her power. So I'm really glad about this fight with Adalman. Not to mention I'm a big fan of wizard's duels, so this fight was tripply awesome to me. :D
I agree, I'm glad to say that Shuna can be scary if she wants, and to have proof of it.
Yea and it's not really out of bo where since we knew she was quite great with magic when we first met her in season one and she put all the goblins asleep
@@angelic9077 As well as suppressing the otherworlder's mind manipulation and putitng up a barrier together with Myulan. Both of which are quite impressive when you think about it, but not particularly flashy and short enough some might miss them.
They are fair oni while Shion is a wicked oni because of being a zombie
Bonus points showing just how much Rimuru means to her that by her very faith in him makes her capable of casting powerful holy spells(which are powered by faith) and made Adalman reevaluate what it meant to truly believe. She's practically the pope of Rimuruism.
I love how the author(Fuse)'s self insert character is probably Fuze, a moderately strong, skilled and intelligent human who is constantly in over his head.
Blumund is a human nation that honored it's mutual defense pact with Tempest even against another human nation is great for the story. It shows through their sending of a vanguard to warn Tempest of the attack, while they mobilize a larger force, that there can be relations between human nations and Tempest. The story consistently addresses logistics for the nations/armies and I love it.
Also to add to that which the anime unfortunately skipped, blumund mainly signed the mutual defence pact for one yes to show their cooperation but mainly because the king knew blumund was a small nation and knew rimuru was strong from beating an orc lord and rimuru was kinda scammed at the beginning (this was early season one just before he visited the kids, rimuru stopped at blumund to meet fuze so he could use his connection to meet with yuuki(again smart writing he’d need atleast one reliable source to introduce him to someone as important as yuuki, while he was in blumund rimuru officially signed the pact rather than leaving it as a verbal promise) and shows he lacked the business sense at the time but learns from his mistakes. This perfectly makes sense a small nation that in the context of the story was thriving not because of their power but because of their intellectual leaders making full use of opportunities as they come and prioritized their people’s safety and friendly relationships with other nations with high potential for a good return. (Also the reason why I say scammed is because the empire which is largest and nation in the world and is very aggressive in territorial invasions is around, so the king of blumund knew his small ass nation wouldn’t be able to do anything but the monster country would atleast fair a lot better in protecting them, so the deal was kinda one widely in blumund favour)
I hate the fact that some people is ignoring those important parts and thinks its all just about one character being op and saying its overrated when they just literally ignored those parts of the story
I'll give some wins on the walpurgis part
-how rimuru changed his form (human/slime) against milim to better dodge her attack because if he was hit by her punch it would be fatal.
-seeing milim not actually being controlled early on, seen in his battle against rimuru (when raphael detected the feint/trap) and against veldora (smiling/enjoying the fight)
-milim actually biting bell pepper on her mouth to better her poker face facade.
-how the puppet (clayman's servant) was revealed as clayman's greatest masterpiece and how strong his firepower (different magic per hand was fired against shion) was just beaten easily by beretta.
-when rimuru just used guy's barrier in front of his face.
-dino just sleeping peacefully and the table broke, he just fell and was still sleeping.
-beretta casually calling guy rouge even tho he was considered the strongest demon.
-shion being the perfect counter against clayman (she can't be controlled, her sword against his puppet etc.)
-dio get's ORA ORA'ed even in different anime.
-rimuru putting thought acceleration on his punch against clayman (means clayman felt the punch for days or even weeks)
-(I don't know if it was revealed in the anime or not) but rimuru only used Beelzebub because he doesn't want other demon lords to see his full abilities.
And here's another fact! Clayman's pinky finger pirone (majin who looks like a harpy) was actually in the falmuth war, clayman thought she disappeared with the falmuth army after veldora's revival, but actually was killed when razen fired nuclear cannon to diablo and diablo just blow it away upward, she was actually on the top surveying the battle and diablo noticed and was hit by the nuclear cannon.
I totally agree with all that.
And so sad that they don't show about Pirone and how Diablo just kill her like that
25:20 Clayman mentions losing touch with Pirone whom he sent to Falmouth. You might have noticed from Myurran's description that she is a winged species. Turns out she was flying above the Falmouth army to oversee the war with Tempest. She was killed by Diablo when he redirected Razen's nuclear magic into the air.
41:00 I hope I wasn't the only one who drew the parallel to DIO being ORA-ORA'd.
To clarify diablo did that on purpose.
I think it's shown in the manga clayman mentioning the death of pirone because of Diablo. Would've been a nice little added detail to the anime
Ya Diablo knew she was there the manga and light novel confirms it
Another bit about antagonists not just appearing out of nowhere. We got Leon's reveal in Season 1 during Shizue's backstory and it was always set up that he and Rimuru would eventually have to have words for what happened to her. Something that the anime had fun with, as when they first met, Rimuru asks if he can just punch him. XD
He did actually punched him in ln
@@Uriel-l4q Not that it did much to Leon.
@@cutewippets7905 well because he didn't use any skills if he wanted to hurt him he would have been dead
I think the Octagram naming scene deserved a win, just for the fact that everyone who knows him to have named hundreds of thousands think he has good naming sense.
Not to mention that Rimuru took about a few minutes thinking of a good name, whereas the Demon Lords that constituted the previous order took years (iirc).
@@Orionis_Delta not to mention how shit his naming sense actually is, if you read the LN and Manga, then you know what I mean if you read the part with the orcs.
Yeah, orca got short end of the stick, hopefully they just do the weird thing I do with liscence plates and pronounce numbers as letters,
Shion was the worst opponent to fight for Clayman, because of the other skill she got when she resurrected, she has become immune to mind-altering attacks and related status conditions. These kinds of attacks are what Clayman excels at. I forget what the skill is called, but it essentially stores her consciousness inside her soul, where Clayman can't get to. That's why most of his attacks didn't work
I think it is called perfect memory if I am remembering correctly.
I love how Gabiru has evolved ever since his introduction, his reality check when he fought against the Orc Disaster and his Exile from the Lizardmen definitely humbled him but he still retains his prideful personality
You should've given a win to Episode 9 of Season 2 Part 2, around 4 and a half minutes in. I have NEVER seen an opening song transition so FLAWLESSLY with an anime as this one did. Rimuru literally WALKS RIGHT INTO THE OPENING, and when you watch it in context with everything that's been going on, it's like having a complete revelation. The last time I had this feeling was something akin to re-watching the first episode of Steins;Gate after finishing it. Everything teased in the opening now makes complete sense and honestly had my jaw on the floor with how hype it made me. It's also easily one of the best episodes in general of Slime, haha.
Mushoco tense integrated there intros into the sene and not even cutting away
@@lucasleeds7364 lmao that's completely different tho
@@lucasleeds7364 Mushoku Tensei at least the second cour as of yet doesn't have an OP, just music set to localized backgrounds of areas the group visits. So no it's really not the same, it's plainly obvious that the OP for the second cour of season 2 was done deliberately for that exact moment of the show.
Completely agree, when it transitioned from Rimuru and Co. heading into the Gateway directly to the Op. I was just "OOOOHHHHHH!!!!!!". Really deserved a win but oh well.
@@timconner7693 I believe that the artist herself deserves a solid win as well. She is just too anomalous and interesting to not deserve it.
I’ve been so looking forward to this, cuz the second half of season 2 was/is so gorgeous in every way, and you delivered so well with this too, really doing it good.
I really loved how the second half of this season starts subtly showing how Rimuru is changing as a person. At first Rimuru was just a human in a new world, but he starts to adapt and embrace his new life as a monster, doing some very morally gray, monster-y things. He had no need to torture Clayman, but the simple satisfaction on his face while he was punching Clayman really shows that, while he may still be ultimately good, more than a little bit of Demon Lord has seeped into his personality. Other little moments like trying to intimidate people with his aura and the carefree way in which he mentions the mass execution of the Falmuth army are just excellent moments of character development.
Lets not pretend like the torture thing isn’t also at present a very human thing too.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say he’s losing his humanity or becoming more monstrous, just that he started out with a sort of child like innocence, treating this world like a light hearted adventure after his previous life since everything always seemed to work out and it was only in this season that the concept of actions having consequences crept back up to him
12:24 The whole moral dimension of what Rimuru did, and what he thinks about it, is the most fascinating element to his character. To my mind at least. How it's handled is tweaked going from LN to manga to anime, with Rimuru being slightly niceified from one to the other. He's never portrayed as a complete monster, Overlord this isn't, but, to me, the manga strikes the best tone.
I would suggest reading chapter 60, the part where Rimuru grapples with the knowledge that he has to butcher 10 000 humans to bring back his people. He blames his naivety for the disaster, born from the common sense from his previous life. Finally he comes to the decision that he will do the killing with his own two hands, rather then by proxy, almost as a form of penance for what his decisions led to. VERY importantly he makes this choice before Souei let's Rimuru know of the approaching army. After which Rimuru, with the cold moon shining down on him rather then the sun rise of the anime, smiles (maybe with relief?) as he says how satisfied he is with the "abundance of supply." It's a chilling scene where Rimuru takes a step way from human morality, valuing his own people immensely higher then human life, after all he isn't fully human anymore is he?
I found this concept interesting in Overlord, but couldn't get fully into it. It got too Dark for my tastes. Slime occupies a more gray to light zone I'm more comfortable with. Sadly the author seems much less interested then I in exploring this part of Rimuru's character.
You said this brilliantly and I want to second every word.
The second half of this season can be summed up with: *Unexpected plot twist*
According to the spoils I suffered, the *unexpected plot twists* are not about to stop.
but then you realize that those "unexpected plot twists" are like small teasers when compared with actual plot twists later in the story

Chloe stalls Rimuru so that hinata doesn't misses him and betting that he would survive and him town will be destroyed so that he will become a Demon lord. Cannot wait for the movie and to see your reaction to it!
I just love at 7:28 Rimuru is so calm and happy saying he wiped out a full army
Excellent overview of the second cour. I enjoyed it a lot. Two nits, though:
1) Twice you referred to the number of soldiers and mages killed by Rimuru as 200,000. It was "only" 20,000.
2) You should have awarded episode 22 with three more points. Two for the absolute seamless transition between the pre-credits opening scene and the opening itself. Having Rimuru walk into the portal and then have him, Shion, and Ranga continue that walk as part of the opening was brilliant. You had already given the opening one point early on, but it deserves another point for how we had watched it for 9 or so episodes, not realizing it would be used directly as part of ep.22.
I agree with the opening walk with those three and I also am glad someone else noticed the addition of an extra 0 to 20,000 people killed by Rimuru but wasn’t going all chastising to the guy who does the video since he does it on his own and some things do fall through the cracks but still love these videos and because that is TRUE DEDICATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!
7:56
If I remember correctly, in the LN, as Rimuru awakens with Raphael in control, there was a line saying "I think, therefore I am." which explains a lot, a bit disappointed it wasn't in the anime, but it implies Raphael is now sentient.
Yup
47:36 I may be reading too far into it, but I find it such a strange yet interesting aspect how Clayman's technique seems scared as it starts getting pulled in by Beelzebub.
Actually, in the original LN, Rimuru and Benimaru were making their war plans on the assault of Clayman’s castle through a secured Thought Communication channel, not some communication orb. Then Shuna literally hacked into their secured communication channel to launch her protest and demand to be included as well. Cause she’s just that good with her magic, apparently. And pissed off at Clayman. In her own reserved way, of course. I just found that a funny tid-bit on her character, especially as we hadn’t exactly seen much of her up till now; she IS the ogre’s/kijin’s Princess and overall magic specialist, after all; for all that she’s often shown in more ‘homemaker’ and ‘healer’ roles, that’s not ALL she can do! She’s quite the high-spec character, in her own right XD
Finally, the hype for this is real!! SLIME TIME!
EDIT: 1:03 Good to know I wasn't the only one thinking that lol.
Oh in case u didn't notice this little "EE": the OP shots are literally rimuru, shion and ranga walking through the gates to walpurgis and at the end of the opening we see rimuru stand in the walpurgis room (facing claymans awakened form). :D
I love Gabiru, he is my favorite character, yes he is mostly comic relief but when it comes to combat he can take heads like the best of them.
I love Albis and her obvious attraction to Bennimaru you could see the way she looked at him,
I'm sad you didn't include jealous Ranga over the Kyubi that was funny and also adorable
Clayman was trash and a weakling but i did feel kind of sad when Laplace was trying to Laugh instead of cry but failed. Also seeing him Kill that Vampire effortlessly was crazy.
best part about Veldora are the massive HIMBO vibes he lets out since he was released xD
ALso, one of my favourite aspects in Tensura was how Clayman, the stablished "master of puppetry", schemer, manipulator and master of plots within plots.... was pretty much pulled by the nose ALL THE TIME! Not ONCE he realized every single one of his tactics were failing miserably until it was all dumped over him during the Walpurgis. He had NO IDEA how powerful Rimuru and his followers were, how his invasion failed, how even his own friggin' CASTLE was raided, all within the week when he was out! So everytime there was a scene of CLayman plotting his stuff with his peers, sneering at how "brilliant" he was, I couldn't stop giggling and wishing I could come in and say "dude, you have noooo idea whats in for you..."
Agreed, and I'll add one more. Even after LaPlace warned him not to depend on Milim's control crystal, he was still clueless as to her deception. It turns out the Milim was the master manipulator, not Clayman.
One of my favourite things about this anime is how well it conveys the scale of armies. It may be a detail, but most of the time, the anime tells you that a massive army numbering about 10 thousand is comming only to show like 10 guys but here, when they say that 200'000 orcs are comming, they actiually show a gigantic swarm of orcs stomping everything and when they say that Rimuru has to kill a 20'000 strong army, they actually show you the massive numbers. It always bothered me when the numbers told didn't match the numbers shown but The slime anime does this extremely well and I get more invested by it. Just one detail of the many things they do extremely well compared to other anime.
in the last scenes when laplace laughs off of clayman's death, his madness is so much better depicted in the manga. Where he kill tons of guards and is full of blood laughing like a maniac. Love that scene
As a fan of the Tensura lore I can't help but want to explain the few things that the anime didnt explain too much (dw this isnt gonna be spoilers only skipped things).
First of, the subtitles here are Crunchyroll's and contain some errors : Veldora calling Rimuru his "sword friend" intead of sworn friend, the "200k soldiers" of Falmuth while they actually were 20k, Adalmann being called the "White King" while he actually is the Wight King (Wight is sort of a lich), and a few other things like that.
Secondly, they didnt really go too much into Rimuru's subordinates growth from Rimuru's Harvest Festival : all the kijins became Fair Onis except Shion who is a Wicked Oni, and they all got Unique Skills, besides Benimaru's Birn Leader and Shion's Master Chef, Shuna got Manufacturer which basically allows her to create her own custom magic as we saw in her fight against Adalmann, Souei got Shadow Stricker which is basically his ninja abilities plus a subskill called One-Hit Kill (that's why he talked about the Death dragon being immune to death, because his attack infused with One Hit Kill did nothing), Hakuro got Martial Master which basically regroup his old combat-related Skills. Besides the Onis, Geld also got his own Unique that allows his to take the damage his subordinates are taking in their place.
Third, the reason why Clayman's attacks didnt affect Shion is because of an Extra Skill calked Perfect Memory, which nullifies mind control and allows one's soul not to dissipate at death, which combined with her regeneration makes her nigh-unkillable (and even if killed thanks to Perfect Memory, Rimuru can revive her easily). All the victims of Falmuth's attack that died in Tempest and were resurrected by Rimuru have this Perfect Memory alongside Ultraspeed Regeneration, thus the name of their army corps being Yomigaeri, the Immortals.
Fourth, the anime got the Demon Lords titles right but not their races so Imma list them there for accuracy goals :
- Dino the Sleeping Ruler is a Fallen Angel
- Guy Crimson the Lord of Darkness is a Devil Lord
- Milim Nava the Destroyer is a Dragonoid (True Dragon-Human hybrid)
- Dagruel the Continent's Wrath is a Giant, they got that right
- Ramiris the Fairy of the Labyrinth is the Fairy Queen
- Leon Cromwell the Platinum Saber is a Demonoid (humans who became majins by fusing with spirits. If Shizueactually fused with Ifrit that's what she would be)
- Luminous Valentine is a Vampire (can't go further into details without spoilers)
- our boi Rimuru Tempest the Newbie (sometimes called Rising Star or Nova but his title is Newbie, it's just that the english temr has a pejorative connotation that the Japanese word doesn't have) is a Demon Slime.
Fifth, for those who wonder where Pirone went, remember the fight between Diablo and Razen, when the latter blasts Nuclear Cannon, Diablo blows it upwards, and that's where Pirone were, she was sent by Clayman to observe how the Falmuth invasion would go.
Sixth, Rimuru applied to Clayman the Thought Acceleration effext of Raphael when he punched him, stretching the pain by a million times meaning those few seconds felt like years of pain to Clayman, kudos to him for not giving away his boss's identity after that much pain.
There is still plenty of things I want to say but that would be spoilers, I'm still amazed at the amount of small details and hints for later plots, some hinting things nly revealed in the latest light novels that aren't translated yet.
Once again, a GREAT video of one of my favorite recent anime.
I'm glad you appreciated the pacing of this cour, as some of the audience felt it was a bit slow in the first half of this arc. Personally I loved it because it gave a lot more attention to detail. The fact that the studio was allowed to dedicate an entire 12 episodes to a single volume of the light novel still blows me away and showcases how much faith they have in the story.
Also, gotta give it up for the incredible sound design, OST, and voice acting. While the art and animation really shines in places, the sound is consistently phenomenal and really sets this series apart from other series in its quality. Also, the voice cast never fails to absolutely knock it out of the park every single time. I honestly would be hard pressed to find a better voice cast for these characters, and I'm delighted that they're able to find such great talent, especially the up-and-coming VAs.
On e again, thanks for an amazing and entertaining episode! Keep it up!
Idk if your going to see this but the reason Claymans attacks didn’t work on shion is because she gained the skill “cook” it makes her food taste like whatever she was intended it to taste like no matter the ingredients because the skills actually ability is outcome manipulation so she can use it in battle as well
I would have added a win for clayman's entrance to Walpurgis or more specifically his striking of Milim and everyone's reaction to it. Sure you gave Rimiru's death glare it's own win (total agreement there) but the fact that cocky clayman walks into Walpurgis slapping around Milim and just about every demon lord there who knows whats up is either concerned or insulted at his treatment of her shows that he just earned himself no new friends with that move. I wouldn't be surprised if half of the people there were looking forward to seeing him get his ass handed to him.
Also would have given a win to the interaction between Rimiru and the king of the elves back during the discussion prior to Walpurgis where Rimiru lets his demonic aura show to express his determination and capability only to have the king of elves no-sell it completely and have Rimiru pull a 180 and answer in a perfectly calm manner. Just such a "wait what?" moment for me that I just couldn't stop grinning at the mood whiplash.
I love how casually Rimiru talks with the demon lords at the end of the season.
Seriously I have been a dub primary until like last anime season or the one before, and not to knock English VAs but now having watched anime episodes when they come out in sub, then watching the dub afterwards I am REALLY starting to see why so many people are against dub and praise Sub. Like Slime is SOOOO much better in Sub it's not even funny. Clayman's VA alone makes the sub 10x better and I'm already realizing how much I'm going to miss that VA going forward. I seriously need to watch Jojo as I only know him from this and Re:Zero and I would like an anime more just for his voice acting. Also I absolutely loved Ramiris' character and actor but you made me think about and realize how much I appreciate her actor and I hope she's in a lot more going forward.
The funny thing about all of Clayman's fights is he was insanely unlucky in who he went up against. Up against Shion, all of his manipulation skills are worthless with her perfect memory skill, his puppets are worthless against her sword, and he's much physically weaker than her. Normally he'd be right and he probably could control nearly anyone with his marionette skills. In his awakened state, Rimiru was one of the worst people he could go up against. Clayman's Demon Blaster was a move that ignored barriers and deleted magicules so it would have decimated any majin it hit. Against Rimiru though it meant nothing as he could just eat it.
The one thing that I feel was missed is defeinatly the scene where the refer to Veldora's sposed reserection to fit with the established story they created to explain the army's disappearance. That since Veldora is already Legend, would leave that any of his actions are consider natural phenomenon, a catastophe. To which Veldora, lying in the lounge reading manga, chuckling to the statement and repeating the worlds. "Im a natural huh..."
I love it when the choice of voice actor changes how a character acts and what happens. Because Clayman is Dio, the anime added to the intial fight he has with Shion where she rapid fire fisticuffs him. Yes they did it in homage to Dio being Ora-Ora-ed.
7:02 I love how Rimuru isn't just locked into one outfit all the time, as anime tends to do. I want that hoodie.
46:05 Dang you didn't give a win to the Jojo reference of "Can't beat the crap out of you without getting closer". There was this reference right before this moment and it was perfect since it was this reference with the voice actor for Dio.
To be fair, JoJo sucks.
Benimaru and Shion both became disaster class (S rank) after Rimuru’s evolution and Shion gained a skill called Perfect Memory which allows her to basically never be mind controlled
No? Both Benimaru and Shion are on DL seed level which is equal to Carrion and Frey or A+ rank.
S are for the Awakened DLs, True Heroes and those born as ultimate lifeform like Draguel. Rimuru is here.
S+ rank are the True Dragons and those equal to them. Milim and Guy are S+ rank. Draguel and Ramiris in her adult form could be there too.
@@ValtenBG Carrion and Frey are low disaster ranks with demon lord seeds and aren’t calamity
@@GohanXGAMERYT The rank is based on the EP, which is introduced in vol 16. And if the memory serves me right around a 1 mil is the S rank and 300-400k are the seeds. S+ rank is 2mil +. But I may be wrong about the numbers because it has been a while since I read it.
@@ValtenBG ah now Rimuru had a special ranking system in his city where S rank started at 400k ep then a newly awakened demon lord/saint started around 700k-800k ep then a Special S category which was above 1mil ep and people there were super awakened demon lord/saint and I forgot what ep was where catastrophe but it’s definitely above 15m ep
If you're an Anime only I seriously suggest reading the manga for the Battle against Clayman's army for Three parts.
1) the initial confrontation between Gobta and Yamza is longer and get to see Gobta pull out some more moves.
2) Shuna and Adelmans dialogue is a bit more interesting, also Souei and Old man mention that Shuna was able to mask her presence by combining Sorcery and witchcraft that gives her stealth on par with the both of them.
3) Geld and Werewolf dude's battle with Clayman's Allies had dialogue with a bit more bite and definitely made Geld seem more formidable
On re-watching this, I just now realized Rimuru most likely killed Pirone, one of Clayman's top subordinates, in the Megiddo incident. One of the most powerful beings under Clayman's control was just collateral damage for Rimuru getting revenge.
One nice thing about Tensura's OP protag Rimuru is that quite shortly after every major power upgrade of his he comes across an even more OP character thus reminding him that he has a ways to go before reaching the top.
Dude, I love this series. I thought to myself if this guy gives just one + for the opening song I'm going to dislike this just on principle, BUT you went I love this song AND you gave it TWO points :) My man! "Like flames" is my favourite anime opening song ever and the animation that goes with it is just DOPE.
The nine tailed fox she gets herself named 9 different times by Rimuru by changing into her alternate forms
Also Milim can move faster than 177 hours per second
Hours per second?
The reason why Clayman's attacks don't work on Shion is because of her new gifted skill called "Master Chef" and when she fought Clayman she used this skill to manipulate her OWN soul because everything in Tensura are actually made of magicules and "Master Chef" can freely manipulate magicules of food making have good taste even if it looks disgusting and it can also manipulate magicules of anything in general including her own soul and since Clayman's whole build is attacks and manipulation against souls, Shion is completely immune to his every attack which puts her in a big advantage
Please do a Wins for Slime Diaries. The fact that it's essentially collected character studies makes it unique, plus it should appeal to your world-building fandom. Also what they did to add to Geld's character on the foundation of what happened to his people is just so perfect. Slime Diaries isn't a side story, I consider it essential to Tensura's story as a whole.
34:13 At this point Benimaru, Shion, Hakurou, Souei and Shuna were at a level of... I'd say Carrion. I kind of get why Carrion and Frey did quit being Great Demon Lords. It wouldn't have made sense for those two to call themselves such as their power levels were probably just barely above the top underlings of Rimuru. And having in mind how fast everyone in the Jura forest progressed it wouldn't have taken long before it changed.
I think some people might not realize how rare ultimate skills are, because rimuru has four so far, but i can only think of 2 people off the top of my head who had 2 or more ultimate skills. Rimuru has four because raphael absorbed degenerate, and thus obtained its abilities to combine skills to optimize rimurus skill set (at the same time beelzebub had absorbed merciless, so got the power to absorb souls)
One thing they pretty much skipped in the anime is Rimuru building Beretta for Ramiris after he destroyed her elemental golem. They showed the build but skipped their contract after, where she asked to become Rimuru's servant after her duty to protect Ramiris ended, in 100 years.
Well not anymore, cause now we have a ramiris ova that does cover it. But no English subtitles yet.
I would LOVE to see you do Anime Wins for Mushoku Tensei sooo much, but since a portion of people despise the series I doubt you'll end up doing it. But seriously when I have been watching the episodes I've been thinking "Oh, he would have definitely given a win for this!" . Especially for a scene this week with BREAD, it was so unnecessary but so awesome and I love how they hit the small details so well, and the incredible world building.
Man, I'm overly attached to isekais, I have read light novels of overlord, mushoku tensei, slime isekai, Tanya the evil, rezero, konosuba, shield hero etc. Ofc my favourites are slime for its collective world building, politics, wars etc and mushoku tensei unlike slime, focuses primarily on individual characters which I'm a big fan of
On the win where Rimuru describes what kind of nation he wants to build and how ideals and power are both needed. In the manga, shortly before that conversation, it plays out a bit different.
The elf dude makes the same sort of posturing statements and asks him what he plans to do as a demon lord. However, Rimuru sits down, and releases all of his aura that he had been keeping in check, embracing the whole, "this man views me as a demon lord, let's show him what that means." thing. Pretty fun, albeit minor change!
Edit: Also, there's a new level of hilarity involved when you realize Veldora (Hadouken! Kamehameha!) & Milim's fight is just an uncle playing games with his niece. Since Veldora is one of 4 "true" dragons and they're all related.
As great as the visuals and the overall plot is, the missing parts on why someone is stronger than others is left out and many more similar details is what makes Slime anime, for me at least, kind of a let down, but not much, it was still great. For example, there's a natural rule basically, that someone with an ultimate skill can ONLY be beaten by someone who also has an ultimate skill, Clayman did not. Also the way that Shuna overwrote Adalmann's magic... though I can't remember the details. Someone already commented about why Clayman's mind control type skill didn't work on Shion. And how each of Rimuru's punches thanks to Rimuru using Though Acceleration on Clayman, made him feel 10 days worth of pain, so a long ass time worth of pain and then other demon lords after that were impressed by how Clayman still didn't give out any details about his boss/master. And there are a lot more details like these that imo are amazing, but get left out.
This is one of those very rare anime that made me buy the manga so I could get more out of the story.
it's the first anime where I've caught up in it's light novels, the story was very intriguing
I really like how you label ME on characters that show your own reaction is one of the most fun things you add to these videos, and the OHDA thing.
Also, your interest in the details of the world building and politics aspects of this anime, along with the pacing, makes me reflect on my own writing.
I have issues with details to analyze anime and other types of media, so these videos you make is a great experience 😁
I REALLY loved how the end scene with the marlequin(?) was so upset for his friend. I didn't feel bad about Clayman dying, because of what he did, but the guys sadness and his statement of the other's reaction to their friend dying hurt a bit. It's amazing how this anime made me feel for the antagonists pain. It makes the characters feel like real people, not just a MWHAHA villain. UGH! I love it so much.
The reason why they think his power (Veldora's) is diminished is because if you recall, Rimuru asked him to suppress it, something a dragon would normally never do while, well, being a dragon.
this series i started reading it on manga since day one basically, i knew, after reading a bit, it could get big, real good, and i wasnt wrong... is a series that, to me, has changed my life, loved it, as re:monster...
tensura is amazing, and no one will convince me of the contrary, is wholesome, is explained perfectly with little to none exposition, action packed and a mc that is logical, flaws and lovely overall... i can confidently say, imo, this series is a 10/10 score for me
All those revived by Rimuru were given a special skill, "perfect memory" this negates all forms of mind altering abilities like mind control.
21:34 oh boy they couldnt care less on Pirone, but she was actually killed when Diablo blured on the Nuclear Magic from Razen
She just want to participate at Diablo's party but got fried that even bones became into ashes
34:19 its because binemaru evolved into a fair oni and fun fact shion actually evolved as a wickid oni because when she was getting rivived the two demons that got sacrivied got in their power
Man you missed out, in the manga, Guy (crimson demon) walks to Rimuru and bites his ear
That was probably one of the funniest moments tbh
When Clayman attacked Milim I wasn’t mad I was just impressed with Koyasu’s cackling
Manga Spoiler sort of
25:15 if I remember correctly, pirone was killed by Diablo redirecting the nuclear magic from Razen. A small detail that I wish the anime had kept, because it actually makes a comment about Diablo being passively aware of her and purposely directed it up, but I can understand how it didn't really add too much to the storytelling, and might have been difficult without extra setup in some previous episode
For those who want to know why Claymans control didnt work on Shion. I thought it was because the spell was actually a failure cause Milim pretended to be enslaved and Shion was just too powerful. But here's the real reason:
It turns out that she got another skill from being brought back from the dead. Soul memory. It means her consciousness basicly moved to her soul. So if you were to hit her on her head, decapitate her, blast her to bits and just all around kill her again. She'd still remember clearly. This skill makes her immune to mind control.
I learned this from a commenter somewhere else.
44:34 it was previously brought up that kijin are resistant to mind control attacks. Just clearing up your confusion.
More that Shion specifically cannot have her mind altered in anyway post revival. Resistance probably wouldn't have been enough for something like Clayman that directly and physically alters the brain. But it doesn't matter what someone does to your brain if your body is only tangentially related to your spiritual existence.
I'm surprised that you didn't touch on the fact that when Rimuru and Co. enter the door to go to Walpurgis they effectively walked into the intro. Beautifully done.
I've been waiting to watch this second half reaction and it definitely did not disappoint! Loved this video and all of the others that you've worked so hard to put out, keep up the amazing work!
I just love how Veldora is literally the exact same Veldora when he was trapped in the barrier and then turned into a human form. And it’s out of the very few episodes with him in it.
Hey Anime Wins, absolutely love all of your content and really mad at TH-cam that so many of your videos have been hit with claims/strikes but just know that we all wait eagerly for your videos and you have our full support.
Thank you so much for what you do! I hope the remainder of this year and all of the next year goes much better for you!
Even when you're going through things, Ive just got to thank you for keeping up on pumping these videos for us my dude
Between Soei’s ability to gain information on an enemy force and Rimuru’s ability to teleport armies I’d say they will win every war easily.
You should definitely check out the English dub for this anime, it’s absolutely amazing hearing Rimuru talk about how “absolutely swole” he is
I really truly appreciate what you do, and while I do think that most shows may have more to make fun of rather than praise, the positive vibes and passion that you put into your videos is what I think the world needs right now, and me especially, so I just wanted to say a whole hearted Thank You for everything that you've done and keep up the great work!
The fact that i've just finished watching the season 2 and this released about 4 days later makes me happy... HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY DAY
[That's a scrub for hire reference]
Btw I suggest when giving crédit to specific peeps to tell their Names, example Ramiris voice actress, great video as always
but yet you are not right here as well xD
I REALLY hope that Ramiris gets more recognition from this series,
her voice is absolutely adorable!
bruhh i just looked at your MAL and you gave Kiss Sis, Highschool DXD and Highschool of the dead a 10/10 lmao😂😂😂 I respect your taste. Great vid btw.
and monster musume lmao
12:09 just correction not 200k people he killed 10k people that a conditioner to awake into a true demon lord also there so slime diaries a spin off that super kawaii it timeline is before season 2
44:34 claymans attack aren't working because of her unique skill chef which controls the outcome like the food she cooks as an example and we will get some details in the next movie hopefully
Right, but not every kill resulted in a captured soul. The army was 20,000 strong, after Meggido about half survived, but he did not have the souls he needed to evolve, so he used Merciless to consume the souls of the survivors. Minus the bishop, king, and Ryzen.
Well, I dont have time just yet. but its been a minute since I watched your videos and now I gotta set about 7 hours aside sometime soon to get caught up! keep up the good work ;3
I think the reason Rimaru being OP works so well is because he isn't actually. There's plenty of characters incomprehensibly stronger than him, he's just on the upper echelon of beings.
You got a sub from me but may I just mention how when Clayman's ultimate attack was getting swallowed up the flame dragon looked frightened.
If you wanted to know but the time slime-chan reaches god-hood benimaru is the third strongest of all remirus subordinates, which is even stronger then like most of the primordials
I think it’s so funny to think about the fact that Milim was never under the effect of that charm and simply put up with getting kicked, punched and whatever, while she could’ve just completely destroyed that Clayman dude right then and there
Ramiris is telling the truth about the one punch about, as ridiculous it is true of she had her original power
Seeing you react and give all these explanations is a brilliant experience, especially for someone who doesn’t have people with which to watch/talk about most anime with. Keep up the great work and know you’ve got a new subscriber in me.
Ironically, Ramris is probably one of the few characters that could actually fight on fair terms with veldora...
I love your wins series was super looking forward to this episode just want to point out since you've said multiple times rimiru didn't kill 200 thousand it was only 20 thousand not that it changes anything just letting it be known
I watched this video in passing, but I don't think he gave any wins to the times Milim showed amazing restraint when Clayman hit her. Such a shame, those are pretty great moments when you learn that she was faking being mind controlled the entire time.
Im glad im not the only one who came to the conclusion that ramiris' VA was amazing in this season
OUSTANDING WORK, as always. This reflection through Tensura, and the pointing out f the massive quality left in it's wake, was a stunningly good time. Tensura is a favorite of mine, and, having read through volume 18, the anime truly turned out gorgeous to me, minus the changes :/ . I will pray and sacrifice to any accepting gods that Tensura somehowgets a full anime adaptation. I mean, if any light novel series could get one, Tensura has to be a contender.
@Anime Wins, never stop loving anime, dude.
I did an analytical essay on 50 episodes of naruto and now I know just a little bit of your pain when making these videos. Thank you for your hard work!
I think I prefer Laplace's final fine in the dub where he says "Yeah, Footman's gonna be pissed. Yeah, Tear's gonna cry. And me? I guess I'll laugh."
As the pinned comment makes it sound like it is even MORE important to feed the algorithm monster than normal, I'll share how I kind of hurt my enjoyment of this half of the season, worrying Veldora was so powerful they would have to do something to him/with him. You know, like getting him re-imprisoned, killed, or having him ALSO fall under Clayman (or another enemy's) sway.
...yes, somehow I thought power balance would be an issue in THIS series. XD. I was wrong, and Veldora is even better now than he has been the rest of the series. :D
Slime is a great show, and these videos always leave me happy.
I’m a little sad you didn’t win the scene where the world leaders found out Veldora was alive at the beginning of the meeting and immediately derailed it to have a smaller, private meeting. That and Frey being snarky as hell when Clayman demanded she help him.
38:38 They didn't forget the battle was near by the castle. Great scenery shot!
In all honest. I'd want a director's cut of the series some what like Re:Zero
@Anime Wins will you react to the new jujutsu kaisen trailer
