This movie was FAR better than I could have hoped it'd be, just an amazing series of moments between two big seasons and the grounded realism was excellent for the MC. Let me know what you guys thought.

Just a heads up, for win 112 you said he stayed there and buried them, but according to Souei in S1, there wasn't a single corpse left behind after the Orc Invasion. More likely, he just made gravestones for everyone including his team that died in the first few minutes of the movie. Still very respectable.
Yeah, it's prefe tly reasonable for anyone to assume that he buried them, but that arc in season 1 was VERY clear about what happened with the dead around that Orc army. It would have been wrong af if there had been any bodies.
Even so, making hundreds of gravestones ain't nothing to sneeze at lol
Also possible that Souei, Benimaru, et al didn't see any bodies because they were away and returned to the village after Hiiro buried them, and didn't know to even look for a graveyard outside the village.
It's been a while since I saw the movie, but I seem to recall that being the impression I got.
@@JakkFrost1 That's definitely not the case as it's made very clear in the anime that the orcs ate everything and everyone they killed. we literally see them eat a lizard man alive. think they others were right and it was a symbolic thing
Others can name individuals, the Majin that stirred up trouble during the Orc invasion arc is another who has. They was naming creatures with the intention of those named creatures getting eating by the Orc king to help him become a daemon king. The problem with naming creatures is it takes considerable amounts of magicules to do it, so most who try run out of magicules and start converting life energy to do it.
Rimuru got a way with it because he was named by Veldora boosting his magicules count and by having Veldora in his slime stomach Great Sage would draw from Veldora's near infinite pool when Rimuru's would come up short.
Slight correction, but Gelmud originally named the various Monsters in the forest in the hopes that one of them would eventually rise above the rest to become a Demon Lord. This was actually a long-term plan expected to take around 300 years. But then Gelmud completely changed the plan once he noticed that an Orc Lord had been born.
To understand the power of Ultimate Skills like Raphael and Beelzebub I give you a quote the anime left out when adapting the novels:
"Ultimate skills, as they’re called, are devices to grant access to the ultimate principles of this world. That is why, in order to combat against an ultimate skill, one must employ ultimate skill as well."

And just for fun here are the details on Rimuru's Ultimate Skills:
*Raphael* is one of Rimuru Tempest's Ultimate Skills. It had evolved from the Unique Skill Great Sage during Rimuru's Harvest Festival after countless attempts to evolve itself. It had done so for the sole purpose of becoming more useful to its master, showing early signs of a developing ego. It had eventually succeeded at the sacrifice of the Unique Skill Degenerate.
-Thought Acceleration: Accelerates the thought processing speed of the user by factor of a million.
-Analytical Appraisal: Analyzes and assesses the target.
-Parallel Operation: The ability to detach analysis of phenomena from the mind.
-Chant Annulment: Eliminates the need for chanting when using magic.
-All of Creation: The ability to comprehend any non-concealed phenomena in this world.
-Synthesis: Transforms two differing targets into a single object. Can be used to chain the effects of several skills together, earning the user new skills with significantly less effort than would otherwise be required.
-Separation: Releases the inherent properties of the target and separates them. Examples include depriving a person of their skills, with the exception of the ones bound to their soul, and removing foreign objects or entities from the target's body.
-Alteration: The ability to modify and evolve skills.
*Raphael comes from the archangel Raphael. Raphael, while from Abrahamic faith, is a syncretised figure with Hermes the Hellenic God of trade, commerce, and communication. In early records they can both be seen wielding Hermes’ Caduceus staff.
*Beelzebub* is one of Rimuru Tempest's Ultimate Skills. It had evolved from the Unique Skill Gluttony at the cost of Merciless during Rimuru's Harvest Festival.
-Predation: Absorbs the target into the body. If the target is conscious, however, the success rate greatly decreases. The affected targets include organic matter, inorganic matter, skills, and magic. Like with Gluttony, it can be used at a range and can now even affect space itself. It can absorb at least as far as a whole city's worth of Magicules.
-Stomach: Where all absorbed targets are stored. Items produced via Analysis can also be stored. Anything that is stored in the stomach is not affected by time. Its capacity has been greatly enhanced compared to Gluttony.
-Isolation: Harmful materials or things unnecessary for analysis can also be stored. They will be used to replace magic energy.
-Mimicry: Replicates the absorbed target's appearance. The skills and abilities of the target can also be used. However, this depends on the successful analysis and acquisition of relative information regarding the target.
-Corrosion: The ability to decompose the target in conjunction with Predation. It also can add the abnormal condition of decomposition. There is a chance of acquiring an ability after consuming only a part of a target's body. However, the chance of that happening is less than consuming the whole body.
-Soul Consumption: Only able to be activated when the targets lose their will to resist. Once that condition is met, from that point on, whenever the holder wishes, they can reap the marked target's Soul even if the target has recovered their will to live and fight in the meantime.
-Food Chain: The user can freely copy the prototypes of the skill of any subordinates, while also enabling the user to grant subordinates any skill they are compatible with. Furthermore, the user's magicule levels also grow whenever the subordinates show any significant growth.
*In Demonology, Beelzebub is one of the seven princes of Hell, associated with the sin of gluttony.
*Uriel* is one of Rimuru's Ultimate Skills. It evolved from the Unique Skill Unlimited Imprisonment mixed with a selection of Rimuru's subordinates' Skills conducted by Raphael and the effects of Beelzebub's Food Chain, as well as Rimuru's remaining Common Skills and Extra Skills from before his Demon Lord evolution.
-Unlimited Imprisonment: Seals the target away in an infinitely sized imaginary space for all time.
-Absolute Severance: It damages the target via the severing of space, overwhelming them with both magical and physical phenomenon. If used properly, it can even harm a True Dragon.
-Law Manipulation: It enables the manipulation of the laws of the world from either magical or scientific perspective. How effective it is used depends on the user's abilities. If the user is not in possession of sufficient affinity for the respective laws or not in possession of enough knowledge about the scientific or magical laws and the way they operate, they will not be able to fully bring out its power.
---Rimuru's Version of Law Manipulation: Black fire and thunder. Total magical control. Total control of the properties of heat and inertia. The ability to freely store and remove heat from the Stomach. Rimuru's version of also allows him to use the skills he obtained via Food Chain.
-Universal Barrier: A Multilayer Barrier that can freely adapt to any situation.
-Spatial Domination: A movement ability, allowing the user to freely switch between spaces for which they are aware of the coordinates. Instant teleportation is possible without opening a hole in space.
*Uriel is the name of an archangel.
*Veldora* is one of Rimuru Tempest's Ultimate Skills. Rimuru obtained this Skill after analyzing and consuming the remains of Veldora's body inside of the 'Stomach' of Beelzebub.
-Storm Dragon Summon: The ability to call forth Veldora in either his human or dragon form. Only one Storm Dragon Summon can exist at a time. If the Skill is used while a Storm Dragon Summon is already ongoing, the previous one will be unsummoned first.
-Storm Dragon Restoration: Stores the memories of Veldora in the user's soul and mind. As long as the user remains alive, Veldora Tempest is practically immortal and since his memories are safely stored, Veldora's death will no longer cause his personality to change.
-Storm Magic: The ability to fully utilize Storm Magic (ex. Black Lightning).
*Note: Rimuru, Ranga and the Tempest Wolves could already use Storm Magic before Rimuru got this skill since Rimuru was named by Veldora and Rimuru named Ranga and his pack.
I want to add another win during the fight between Hiiro and Geld, mostly when Geld learned that Hiiro was a named ogre. Once he did, he stopped fighting, dropped his weapons and waited for death to come. Reminds me of when Geld did the same thing with our slime lord's ogre friends as he knows the sins he's committed, and is willing to take any punishment for the sake of his people, even death
Oh, and reminder that he got Beezlbub from Devour/predator, which he got by saying he was going to be a pervert in his next life as he's bleeding out on a sidewalk
Yup started as Predator, then merged with Starved from the Orc Lord to become Gluttony, then Gluttony was forcibly evolved into Beelzebub by Raphael during the Harvest Festival by "sacrificing" Merciless, really merging it into Beelzebub.
@@Sgt_SealCluber Yeah, I do not appreciate the subs usung "sacrifice" as the term. It really skews the magical process, and could cause real confusion for anime-onlys down the line, should Tensura get adapted that far.

God this movie was so FUN! Slime in general looks amazing and with a movie budget, this was just amazing!
To me, the ending was just... just an ending. Plot twist after plot twist and suddenly its just comedy.
Oddly enough, I think my Favorite thing about this movie is Hiiro's weapon, the Nagamaki. It's a historical Japanese weapon that I've never actually seen in an anime before, and I loved seeing the unique weapon animated.
And, of course, getting to see another Primordial Demon in Viola was pretty cool, too. Can't wait to see her, Blanc, and Jaune in season 3. Or, at least... We Should be seeing them...
Seeing Violet definitely was a hype moment, I've been waiting for the time to come when we get to meet her and the other two 🙏

As novel reader I was initially really sceptical when I heard they were making a movie and it was gonna be original material instead of simply using the next LN volume for it but I have to say for an original story they did a really good job integrating it really well into the canon story and it was overall a fun watch.
I have read the LN too and I cannot wait to see what the implications of this movie is going to be
I sorta felt the same way, though I would honestly be hyped no matter what for more Slime Isekai. I even heard online that the movie was highly "meh." I loved it. Such amazing action, Hiiro was a delight to foot for, Towa was stunning in beauty and character, meeting Violet already was a treat, the Tesura sound effects and OST bring the fire as always, and the additional worlsvuilding, character cast, foreshadowing, and lore filling were all amazing.
Question, as an anime only, is this canon? Or like the one piece films where they're just kinda cool fanservice because we miss the characters?
@@Zinz778I believe Fuse has stated that it is canon, it doesn’t effect the story in any way so there isn’t a need to see it but there also is no reason to not make it canon. If anything this movie just expands the lore and tells us a bit of what violet was doing before she was introduced in the LN, we knew she was doing things similar to this but we never actually explore this in the LN for the most part.
I love that it was hinted with the demon always wearing purple, only noticed it finally when his eyes turned to reveal him being one.
This movie had so many plot twist, that a labyrinth would easily get jealous and was full of so many easter eggs for the fans that a whole video could be made of them.
I loved it, and it was great to see and hear the voices again before s3.
I saw this in theater and OMG it was amazing. The animation in full screen was amazing. I really like how they wove new original content with the official so organically as well as the worldbuilding. When Diablo mentioned he had an idea of who was behind it and then immediately called her Violet, my jaw dropped because that meant she was one of the 7 Primordial Demons and I think the anime has only really introduced Red and Black while I think Blue and Green made a kind of cameo in Red's castle if memory serves.
Yes, we met them for the first time at Guys castle, but anime only's weren't informed of Green & Blue being Primordials yet.

Always nice to see a Slime video! This movie was honestly really enjoyable, but by far my favourite moment was when Violet was introduced, the dynamic between her and Diablo was amazing!
The only downside for me was the ending, but the positives for me easily outweigh the negatives.
Cannot wait for Season 3!
I know many didnt like it but I personally loved the double fake out death, that scene had amazing animation, music, sound design and voice acting all working together to make the most impact. Even tho I knew what would happen even before watching the movie it still made me tear up. Towa's VA has such a soothing voice that it would be crime to kill her character, Hiiro's VA also did an amazing job especially during emotinal scenes. Even with those 2 great additions Violets VA Tomita Miyu stole the movie for me, I just love her voice so damn much.
All in all a pretty enjoyable movie that gives us some content while waiting for season 3(announced for Spring 2024). Its amazing to see such a quality project being done in 1 year time and it gives me great expectations for Season 3 quality!

@@MrEagorath Violet didn't do it because of Diablo. She already said it didn't matter if Towa won. But she wasn't threatened by Diablo..she would have still fought on. Also remember didn't Baretta say she was part of the purple family line. Her line is quirky.

Guy also thinks that Beretta is from the Noir line, as he thinks of Diablo when the convo is over.

I remember going to see this in theaters and really enjoying this for all the amazing things we see! I was happy to hear it was cannon. Hopefully they'll work a way to mention it in the anime

You should vote it in on Patreon, a guy has been trying to vote it in for like a year but never gets enough votes.
Don't expect Violet the Purple Primordial Demon until Season 4 or 5 depending on pacing. To show up Season 3, the season would have to have pacing that makes the second half of season 1 look slow. Personally if I were 8-Bit I would adapt Volumes 7&8 into Season 3 and 9-11 into Season 4 which means Violet will appear in Season 4.
Also some small correction: Veldora and Milim _ARE_ gods. The Four True Dragons like Veldora and his sister Velzard are the highest form of divine spirit that simply take Dragon form as their standard form but they can technically be whatever they want (hence their humanoid forms) while Milim is a Dragonoid, a hybrid of True Dragon and Human.
Season 3 would be volume 7 to 9 and 4 would be volume 10 and 11 cuz 11 is one of the most important and popular volume
@@mdhamim7552 I don't want Season 3 to end on Volume 9. I love the dungeon and Masayuki but its not material I would consider suitable for end of season stuff. Season 1 should have ended with Charybdis or the Adventurers mini-arc.
@@jackwitt7430 Well we first have to get the whole Hinata stuff in LN 7. That are at least 8 episodes for it all.
Then we have the whole worldbuilding with the preparations for the harvest festival with all those different banguets. With all those important people like Elmesia, Damrada, Maribel and Granbell, the kids visiting, finally getting our insectuoids in the anime (which they kinda skipped in the main anime), the Tegu and Masajuki.
Then we have the event's on the festival like the opera (with anime OPs :D ), the presentation from Gabil/Vester (and the following complaints of Vargo and Elmesia).
The tournament and the opening of the labyrinth itself and the trial and error with it and how it evolved. Rimuru, Veldora, Ramiris and Milim's own labyrinth adventure and more.
It is just to much for 24-26 episodes.
But you also can't do season 9, 10 and 11 in one season. That would be (in short) the tournament, the opening of the labyrinth and finishing the talks. Maribels arc and before that the talks with the western nations in LN 10. And LN 11 would be Granbell, Luminus Chorona arc... I think you would be hard pressed to put LN 10 and 11 in 24 episodes...

I watched the movie for the first time yesterday and I felt just like you, especially with the dubble heart attack inducing moments between Hiiro and Towa. i wanted to see if you had a review and it just so happened that you had released this video 11 hours before, so you get a 2 max win for perfect timing and an awesome video
just realised at 13:32 Shuna taking Hiiro’s hand to her face and being glad in mild disbelief that he’s alive is a parallel/foreshadowing scene to (37:56) Towa trying to take THE SAME HAND to her face near the end as he’s dying,, no i’m not crying you are

You have to remember that the graves he dug were not Graves but markers since there were no bodies left behind since they were all eaten
I am surprised you didn't give a win to the accurate map laying down before Rimuru in the catch-up exposition scene. It's a nice touch they didn't just put some random blurry iimage on the map.
Great summary and I agree with all of your wins. We loved the story and new characters but we were literally bouncing in the cinema when our favourites from the series appeared, like Ramiris and Milim. Nice one

Regarding the naming thing, there have been other named monsters (Gabiru, Geld the 1st) but I can only think of 1 instance (Geld the first) where we have actually seen the character getting named and it not be Rimuru doing the naming. Gelmude (weird plague mask majiin from the orc disaster arc) named both Gabiru and Geld and during Geld's flashback when showing Rimuru his past during his death scene is I think the only time we see a naming. I think the reason for the lack of names is a mixture of magicule cost (very high so very few names are given, Rimuru has enough magicules and fast enough regen to not care) and very few people want to actually name monsters.
This made my day a Isekai /fantasy anime movie (fave series) still pull my heartstrings without losing the likeable characters
So Something that should have totally been a win but you didn't mention is the fact that Rimuru made sure to tell his people to prioritize their own lives over keeping the enemy alive. Something he learnt after that got a lot of his people killed when Falmuth attacked Tempest

There is one thing I have to correct you on though, the movie is not canon. It was stated prior to its release. It's a shame that it isn't though, seeing Hiiro and Queen Touwa in the main series would've been nice.

Legit excited to see another fan :D I shout it out in more detail in Love Is War, (the movie, not released yet but hopefully up next in 2 weeks time). I've absolutely fallen in love with the series after stumbling across it when Steam recommended Azure to me. I looked into it, decided to start with Trails in the Sky 1 and haven't looked back since. Now a few weeks later I've finished 4 games and am probably well over halfway through Azure, (which is INCREDIBLE btw) and legit cannot wait to begin Cold Steel 1. The biggest shock for me is loving and consuming RPGs for 25 years and never coming across this series! Really glad you're out here supporting the series too, Falcom deserves a lot of love and sales!

Same brother! Currently on Azure after finishing In the Sky 1-3 and Zero, my god this Crossbell arc has been insanely good and I cannot wait to start Cold Steel. Got Into Reverie on my wishlist as well on Steam for as soon as it comes out I'll be grabbing that and planning on getting Kuro No Keseki 1+2 once I reach those, just wanna ensure I fully understand how to whack English subs onto the game before I purchase them lol.
I love how expressive they’re able to make the races with inhuman faces
I personally found the double death fake out to be ridiculous. I definitely understand and can appreciate how they gave actual reasons how they’d be revived, but it can also look like they can’t commit to deaths. We had already seen the main character being back a ton of people, so to see even more revival stuff in this movie just made me depreciate death scenes in this series in general.
I think that was to show how powerful primordials are. That people can confuse them with gods. Even Rimiru doesn't yet know what Diablo is or even Guy. I do agree though that death is becoming pointless...but that is also because the good guys and bad guys are so powerful. That death is more of an inconvenience.
This movie was magnificent. I can't believe they crammed all of that content into one film. It was nuts.
I want to see all the new characters return in the main series.
For some reason the New Kingdom reminds me of Minus Tearath combined with the beauty and the beast movie.
Overall yeah I like it when they don't have a villain that takes over most of the plot if it's a normal situation that just happens naturally makes it more entertaining in my opinion.
Considering this is technically filler and never happened in the light novel its a pretty seamless blend of LN Canon and Anime Canon i have seen so far. Hope it will take this into accounts for the seasons to come here. I am quite far ahead of the story and that little Map thingy in the beginning where he's sent Diablo and Youm into Falmuth is soooo perfectly placed. I love this series in general and your wins video hype me up sooo much. Cant wait for season 3 ^.^
Also worth notimg that all the powerful beings around rimuru are either a few years older then him or easily a couple centuries older then him but he is considered to be on par to them or stronger at some points.
Something that was not really explain in the anime but is functional and implicit is the naming is stronger if the person that gives it to the is strong and you gain a bond to that naming person. Second thing that is not explained is that they get jobs too, like mayor, soldier, general and so on. All of that build monster skill list.
Was TOTALLY with you on the number of times this movie ripped me apart - such a great way of continuing the story
In my opinion it's a dumb movie, but still loved it. The 3rd season will not contain Violet content sadly, only probably the 4th. But the 3 episode ova which will come out in autumn will. Just if you're interested ☺️. Loved the video as always, goes the like 👍

When I first saw this in theaters I left the movie just thinking what is the point of this film existence. After thinking about it for a while I came up with two reasons (They are spoilers for the series so I’m not going to talk about them).
It’s a good movie and I really enjoyed it. My only issue is the whole death scene, but I’ve come to terms with it.

to put simply for the naming: anybody can name monsters and monsters can name other monsters but it just consumes large amounts of magic so its very rarely used

minor note of importance, Diablo is, by himself, a world ending threat and while she wasnt on his level Violet ... is a world ender remember the description of primordials being associated with specific colors? that will come up later as very important and we got to see a primordials fighter very early on before we knew that to look for, it attacked Leon and Shizu made roast of it
Violet is Ultima right....I love that he just names the demons after cars now.

the only gripe i have with this movie is that both hiiro and towa survived that, it does make sense how it happened but it does take away a sense of "consequence" from the story imo
So they made resurrection such a big deal for Rimuru that he had to become a demon lord, but Ultima can do it too according to this film. Which means Diablo should be able to do it.

I watch’s the movie and thought it was fantastic then saw the mal score and was just shocked the movie is easily like a 9/10 for me at least so the 7.5/10 or whatever it is on mal is wild imo
I went to see this with my sister and she hadn't watched the anime before and at the end she was crying and went to watch the first two seasons and buy the manga.
I went to watch this movie in theaters and only 2 other people showed up.
i hope we see them in season 3 or have them mentioned at least
