    A really mint one just sold a few months ago at Mecum in Vegas. I bid it to $50k. It sold for $60,500. One of the best motorcycles ever made in my opinion.

      I grew up next to Shannonville Motorsport Park. I can still smell the Saturday morning smoke rolling across the fields. The back straight was over a 1/4 mile and in the evenings the locals would race a "Run what you brought" drag race. Everything from farm trucks, Skidoos, and blown mustangs. I use to love watching the bikes for hours.

    I know where another one is- my high school small engines teacher had one and converted it into a dirt dragster.
    Broke my heart even then to see that he drilled the water jackets and made it air-cooled.
    Reproduction parts such as cases, cylinders and such are being produced so you can build a brand-new TZ750, but it will be prohibitively expensive. A set of cases alone will set you back a cool $25K.
    Out of the crate they made 140hp and the clutches of the time werent really up to the task of handling it. With modern tech and porting, 200+hp is attainable.

      the 500 twin crankshaft with 4 individual top ends from the YZ125 liquid cooled dirt bikes made up Yamahas 500cc "square 4" made 400HP per liter as is this 500 actually spun the dyno to 200rwhp ...and it was king Kenny Roberts first American and first rooky of the European Moto grand Prix to ever take the championship and several years more of anything else

      In '74 as a Sr. in H.S. I bought a pristine like new '72 H2 750. I added clip ons, expansion chambers, 34mm Mikunis, conical air filters and a port job and tune by my YZ125 Motocross mechanic (my Dad, who was a Rocket Engineer out at Cape Canaveral). It was a very fun scooter.

    In the 70s I'd watch these race at Bathurst, they radared them doing 200mph down Conrod straight which was a slight downhill, halfway down there was a hump and they'd lift the front wheel off the ground at round 180

    Fyi, assuming it is a real numbers matching 1974, unless you have one of the Kenny Roberts or Agostini 1974 TZ-"750", it is actually a 700cc engine. In 1974, in preparation for Daytona in February '75, only Kenny and Ago got the new ('75 and on) 750 cc engine (a guy who raced a TZ350 (B) in the '75 Daytona 200).

  • @markcannon1953
    @markcannon1953 ปีที่แล้ว

    Your WRONG! Its not 2 RD350's put together! Yamaha designed the tz750 engine to run backwards to counter act the gyroscopic effect of the wheels! THIS is what made this bike so special!
    I would imagine if the engine was running forward as well as the wheels it would have been a deathtrap? But what a machine! ❤❤❤❤❤

    Love that you showcased the TZ but some many historical and comparison errors it makes it painful to listen to. The only thing the TZ shares in common with the RZ350 is the manufacturer and the bore and stroke. 99.99% of the parts will not interchange in any way, especially the cylinders. The build numbers are rare but no where near the rarity mentioned. Over 500 built in the 6 model years and a large number of that total in the United States and England.
