I bought two 044 Stihls in the early 1990s for logging I was doing at the family ranch in Montana. I ran 28 inch bars and worked both saws hard. I still have both 044s today, neither saw was ever in a saw shop for work, and they both start and run as they did when new. I still cut 10 cord of firewood, and -- okay, guys -- I now run 24 inch bars because of weight. I will give out and die before my 044s do. Cheers.
