If you've done the mages guild quest or have the dlcs the easiest way is to just make a spell that drains that skill 100 for a few seconds then purchase training from an npc do that and have a save in front of a bed when you're about to level up sleep in the bed and load save so that you level up then purchase more training this method is op for 2 reasons 1 it doesn't matter what level the trainer is if you drain skill 100 you'll be treated as if you were level 0 in that skill and level ups will cost significantly less you might even be able to get them to cost 0 if you made like 4 drain skill spells with different names and stacked them that and you can 100 in like 5 or 10 minutes or something
I spent probably 2-3 hours a day from age 8-13 playing oblivion and there’s a few things this video taught me now
so is it possible then to make the drain magick infinite so you can farm levels fast. when the game thinks you are level 0.
The infinite level up glitch also glitches your character and disables their ability to level up naturally, take that into mind before trying it.
Good point! To further elaborate on this, the game is still properly tracking your major skill advances, so you have to "catch up" to the infinite level up glitch. What I mean by this is for example at level 1 with 0 major skill increases, if you use the infinite level up glitch, you will need 20 major skill increases to then go from level 2 to level 3, since you need 10 major skills + the original 10 you just skipped by doing the glitch. True but, if you max out your endurance first when you're doing the infinite level glitch it will cause you to have around 1500 health when you reach level 150. Which will keep you alive until you can get a decent weapon.
I found even another improvement to blocking and heavy/light armor levelling.
If you equip a shield but don’t equip a weapon and then hold block with your fists, you still level up your armor skill. So you can still level up blocking while levelling your armor skill without the need of repair hammers
I might be pretty late to this but for anyone who wants to easily farm without cheats, just stay at level 1 and pick major skills that dont interest your starting build and that wont naturally level up as you play, keep a basic club and iron dagger from the sewers and only use those, go to the first alyeid ruin in game which is Vilverin and clear it out, make sure to pick up all the alchemy ingredients which will always respawn, and before you go into the last room in the ruin you can save your game and re enter multiple times to change the loot you get from the reliquary, this is useful for getting enough gold for the gold farm, and you can get the robe of glib tongues which helps out greatly.
Now, once you clear Vilverin go to the market district in the imperial city and sell off what you dont need, my personal method is to buy 20 repair hammers (no more no less) and alchemy ingredients that are cheap and restore fatigue (generally avoiding the heavy ingredients like pumpkins and watermelons) now you just need to make all the potions you can and then sell them, this is an easy way to level alchemy which is the main method of the legit money farm. Once you're ready for another Vilverin run, wait for 3 days + an extra hour so the dungeon respawns, it wont respawn every single enemy but it will respawn most chests and alchemy containers, the zombies in the dungeon can easily level your blade and blunt skills.
It only took me about 9 runs to get Blade+Blunt+Armorer+Alchemy to 50, and depending on your difficulty, during some runs you can encounter rats in the cells in the second area, those are useful for farming your armor skills and restoration, (plus alteration if you wanna use shield spells alongside healing spells) but now that your alchemy is at 50 you can easily level it.
To level alchemy and mercantile and get a ton of gold, all you gotta do is go to the gilded carafe and buy every single ingredient, now go to the main ingredient and buy every ingredient, now wait for 3 days, the main ingredients inventory will restock but the gilded carafe will take another 3 days so buy out the main ingredient before waiting again, and after another 3 days you can buy out both stores again. (if you want to buy a few food items at the feed bag, that store also only restocks after 6 days) now just make a ton of potions, it doesnt really matter what the effect is, once you have 75 in alchemy you can basically make 3K gold worth of potions and then restock and buy more ingredients for 1.5K-2K gold depending on your mercantile, repeat as many times as you need for alchemy to get 100, by that point you can make hundreds of potions for 40+ gold each, every single ingredient can be used by itself for one potion. Infinite money in a legit way.
It might take a while but this vilverin+alchemy run is one of the most effective farming methods i've come up with that doesnt have any glitches or cheats, and it only gets better the more you level up, at level 4 you can get loot from the reliquary like the black marsh helmet, fortify clothings, resist normal weapon clothings, all kinds of wacky things, and at level 4 more zombies can spawn in the second cell room with the cells you open with buttons. when your blade and blunt skills are over 50 you do more damage to zombies so its best to drain your fatigue before fighting them so your weapon damage lowers as well. Certain skills like block and armor skills will level naturally as you do this run but like I said, you can use the occasional rats to speed level those, I usually wait until I max out alchemy so I can make healing potions and shield potions to prevent death. Also from the archer enemies you can usually get 90+ arrows per run, the only legit way I found to level mercantile is to sell things one by one so those arrows are a good start, you usually get one level of mercantile per run until about 40+ mercantile.
Also, a soooort of legit way to level blade and blunt is to go to the fighters stronghold dlc and claim it, then buy the training room upgrade and pickpocket the training axe and dagger from the orc trainer, those weapons will never break and if you attack your horse with them the horse wont die and you wont get any ''assault'' points added to your stats, however since they dont break you cant level armorer alongside them. You can get the castle upgrades easily with my infinite alchemy trick.
As for the efficient leveling problem, thats why your major skills should be things that dont matter, if you max out say, half of your lesser skills, you should be able to get 100 in every attribute pretty easily, but endurance+strength+intelligence being the most important ones to max out first, after that you can level as you see fit.
Hope this helps anyone who wants to do a legit playthrough, nothing wrong with using glitches imo, but sometimes you just wanna do things legit and thats complicated in oblivion.
So a tip to go along with the 1st tip: after doing your spell and buying the free training level back out and use the spell again and the next level is free again, keep doing it and you will get all 5 levels free instead of dropping 150 gold each 5 levels
l know this is an old vid, but i just wanna say one for sneak i know.
when you start out before going out of the sewers, theres a place where you can grind sneak. the place is where the zombie is in the corridor. 2 of the rats that run away wont attack you, but one will who will target you while the other 2 kinda just ignore you. kill that rat and the zombie and go back to the other two rats, find a corner somewhat close to them and auto-walk. you will then start gaining sneak. i did this quite a few times when i decided to be a thief and didnt have mods on at that point since i deleted all of them at one point and forgot to search for them again.
A small tip if you don't want to/can't dupe repair hammers: If you boost the Armorer skill to 100 through a 100-for-1 spell, it will last indefinitely. I use this when I run low on repair hammers but still need to maintain gear.
I can't wait for your next speedrun attempt at this; the new optimizations seem to work very well, especially the armorer/mercantile grind that could be done at the same time
If you have the gray fox mask the light and heavy armor and block leveling can be done without getting a fine

4:34 I've played Oblivion pretty much annually for the better part of 12 years or so and I've never seen that text pop-up before. Oblivion is ancient but I'm still finding out new stuff about it with this channel. You never cease to amaze me with your videos. Very underrated channel.
I’ve been playing this game since it came out and I’ve recently started playing it again. This and the previous video are amazing. I’ve learned so many new things to mess with.
For farming combat skills, you can do a glitch where you can use the bound spell to conjure unbreakeble permanent items. However this requires you to have an armorer skill of 75 as you must repair the item to 125 in order to proceed with this glitch. Bound the item you wish, for example bound sword. Repair the item and then drop it. Wait for the effect to wear off or use a simple dispel spell or potion. After that pick up the item and you will now have a bound item that is permanent and will never break
That's really a really cool exploit to speed up the grind even further, nice find!
Damn so many of the strats now rely on Armorer lol
@@BiomechanicalBrick nope, you can conjure a bound weapon and just use it on something to get its health to 99, that works too, dont need to get it to 125 :)

the secret tunnels in Hackdirt might be easier than fighting guards
The way that I leveled up blacksmithing was by going to the Chorral fighters guild. Join the fighters guild, get the ceremonial war ax duplicated once and then use it every time you hit it breaks and just keep on repairing it.
Also, for leveling armorer from start to 100 i used amulet from Shivering isles that damages your equipment for 10 000pts when you wear it. Then i repair it, repeat, amulet can be aquired in female khajiit's quest when you reach New Sheoth
Frostcrag Spire has the Imps to use for punching bags after buying the vault room; Can fast travel there without finding it too.
Not a bad idea but typically speedruns play with no dlc enabled, the 100% speedrun in particular plays on the 1.2 version of Oblivion as they stated with no DLC at all, this does unfortunately include Frostcrag. Nice suggestion otherwise though
A tip to the personality farm is to use a command humanoid spell for 1 decond on dorian which makes him hate you then persuade him with money (You dont need to use dorian its just so you will get extreamely fast cash after that)
one more thing to add, if you stand inside a house facing a corner, you can have insane amounts of fps. this makes the game run faster and further increases your cast animation.
I noticed that too, genuinely thought it was a placebo effect for years.
Found an another way for Armorer, but this requires the shivering isles dlc.
Get the Amulet of Disintegration and get the strongest Cuirass on your level, also make a Drain Armorer 100 on self.
Equip the Amulet then after your cuirass breaks, use the drain spell and use a hammer.
(it already may have been known idk)

Another one for armorer level 75+ if you have Knights of the Nine, when you place the crusader armor on the rack at the priory of the nine it will reset it from 125 health to 100, for all pieces of armor, the shield and both weapon, dupe repair hammers and use the drain armorer 100 spell with this and it’s not too bad

If you cast your on touch training spells inside your own house they are way faster.
I bought the imperial city house for this. When I am inside, I have an about 50% faster casting time for spells.
This makes leveling magic way, waaaay faster. I am blitzing though the destruction tree.
downside is, its boring as hell. But I am watching youtube on my second monitor. maybe you could even just pin the casting button down and make dinner.
That's weird, I'll have to test that. Are you sure it isn't lag related? The imperial house is one of the smallest cells in the game and has less to process while you are in it, and since the game speed is tied to frame rate it is possible you are getting a faster casting speed from a higher frame rate.
I am pretty confident you have a speed/lag glitch. This can happen if you use borderless or windowed mode without specific mods to fix that. What happens is: if youre are turned into a certain direction OR if you jump over a heights/stairs the game can get a frameskip. This always happened to me in my frostmage house - which is pretty nuts since you can summon astronach followers there which will NOT aggro even if you spam attack them.
Basically it will run alot faster, moving and casting also are affected. You can tell if you change to third person. So far from my experience without mods this only happens in borderless/windowed mode.

@@dangitbruh so if you are still having trouble make sure that when you cast your spell on self that you click on the trainer right as the text from the spell pops up, you have to be quick
The Staff of Everscamp is good for grinding lots of skills. Tick them off to grind armor skills, block, and armorer. Kill them endlessly for weapons.
I always just made all weapon and heavy armor with armorer and conjuring as my major skills and just put the difficulty on hard and fought my skeleton over and over again. Shit works great. I just started playing again today for the first time in years and I'm already at level 21.
For armorer I found that the Amulet of Disintegration was the best way to farm it. idk if anyone else has said anything about it but thats just what I figured out on my own.
As a note on dupes, if anyone wishes to avoid duping repair hammers for any method shown here, a 1 second fortify armorer 100 spell will allow you to repair without ever breaking a hammer. It *does* however, conflict with the armorer training strat here since it conflicts with the drain spell. I suggest training for that instead.

With armorer, there are even better items to use than the best heavy cuirass for your level in the form of bound weapons (using the permanent bound items glitch), with bound mace having the absolute highest health of any item in the game (4200, so over 50% more than daedric cuirass) and it's available at level one (and if you use one of the runestones to obtain it, you don't even need any skill in conjuration).
Could you integer overflow your major skills through the drain skill training to infinitely level up?
Edit: I guess you’d still wind up at the max attribute limitation only exceeded by Felldew or enchant glitching.
Do you know about the instant death spell you can make? Its cheap in terms of mp and roughly cost 600 good to make. I can explain more if interested! It will one shot absolutely anything except dagon (pretty sure because hes essential) all you do is drain endurance 100 and drain health 100, itll set whatever you’re fighting to 1 endurance (far less than 100hp) and thanks to the drain hp skill theyll immediately die!

Does using the drain skill to acquire more training exploit allow you to increase levels if the skill is a major ?
Imagine your a guard and a blue robed woman walks in, commits a crime and just stands there as you and your comrades cut her down endlessly.
Are usually use the reload save glitch and the destruction spell drain skill, and the skill I want to training I make sure it drains to scale up to 100 that means every time I cast that spell the skill will be at zero and it won’t cost me hardly any money in this far is the reload glitch goes I load a game where I’m about to level up the rest for 24 hours hit the start button and then load my previous save

When hitting 75 armor and having a good conj skill level which shouldn't be hard cause it trains soo quick and duping a good deal of restore magicka potions. One could summon a full set of bound armor and weapon and drain armor spell for 1s and repair the weapon and armor to 125.
Hey appreciate the video but when I try the drain skill to 0 then train the 5 levels which gets me to journeyman I can't continue to train more afterwards to get to expert 😅
Can I use Mehrunes Razor to level up Blade or do I kill these NPCs with it because of the enchantment?
You forgot to mention that in the infinite level up. If you level up a new character in the prison, once maxed you exit to open world. Your "Luck" drops to 75.
Quick question, does the fortify skill help you level your skills up faster?
It doesn't increase/decrease the skills amount of exp needed to level, no.
I always pick skills I barely use as my major skills. That way I rarely level up. It's cheap and cowardly, but I love obliterating enemies
I wonder if anyone tried attacking your summoned creatures to farm weapon skills, hand to hand and destruction as a farming method.
I know this is an old video and doubt I’ll get a reply. But with the drain skill glitch how do you make them go back down to zero after hitting them max level? I am using the 100 drains but they won’t reset to rebuy skill level ups.
Once max put a skill to level 0, does the effect of that skill also go back to level 0? Like weak level or?
I was looking for more legit grinding methods that dont feel cheatt rather then than this, though it's cool these options exist.
I mean realistically speaking if you just do the arena right out of the gate that will give you a pretty hefty head start into the game ehen it comes to money, i think i normally walk away with just over 15k gold which is a pretty respectable amount at the start, that will get me a full suit of steel armor amd weapons, which is a really damn good set to use i would say for a good part of the game until better shit starts spawning of course
use the blood cattle slave in the vile lair dlc
I never knew this could work, never even tried it, drain skill on yourself and then level it with Novice trainer, still you have max 5 levels between your level up, and quests for master trainers are not so difficult + yes it does cost more gold but if you know what are you doing you will have half a milion gold anyway. But still, its interesting exploit and usefull early game, but of course it requires access to Arcane univesity and that means certain stage in Mage's guild questline. You can do it in Frostcrag spire without doing quests but it requires about 5000k gold to invest in spell altar
The level up glitch doesn’t seem to be working for me. I highly doubt they patched it but I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. I have a save with a level up, sleep, bring up the pause menu before picking my attributes to level, load the save I want to force a level but nothing happens when I do.
Edit: never mind I figured it out, I had to load the safe I want to force level before exiting the sleep cycle.
Training glitch doesn't work for me, I drain my athletics down to 0 and it still says I've got the same amount of athletics when I talk to the trainer.

Yeah it does I've got over 40000 assaults just from training here lol. Haven't had any issues on my save file though

Does the alchemy level influence a potion's effect, if the skill has been brought to over 100 with the training glitch?
According to the UESP, when the game is calculating your created potion's cost and magnitude of effects, it caps your Alchemy at 100 before accounting for your skill level in the equations, so it will not have any benefit above level 100.

If you improve your alchemy then your potions will be better, a lot better time and effect when max level yes very efficient
@@Cacciatoredizombie make sure when you do hit 100 and have master level gear to use light ingredients. You don't want 5lb restore fatigue potions lol
It's been 15 years my dude
Heres a method I used for heavy and light armour training. Go to anvil and join the fighters guild then start the first quest (a rat problem). Go to arvena's house then into the basement and kill the mountain lion but don't progress the quest any further. Now you can train on the four rats in there. They're not aggressive so you will have to use a spell to aggro them but not kill them (drain skill works well for this) you can leave the basement and combat will end so you can quicksave/repair you gear/dupe hammers and potions etc. All that means is you will have to aggro them again when you reenter the basement
For some reason, my drain acrobatics spell that literally says that drains 100 only takes 50 levels instead of 100 levels. Someone that could help me with that, any idea of why it doesn't work properly?
do u have enchanted armor or rings on? or dose the spell say 1-100? cause thatl do a random number.

I have a doubt if I used to drain skill method and max out all the skills will I get the level up screen over and over when I wake up?
Regardless of how many major skill level ups you get, you will only level up once per time you sleep even if you are eligible for several level ups. You can just sleep in a bed over and over to keep incrementing it. If you want to avoid leveling up repeatedly you can just not sleep and instead use the wait timer. Off the top of my head, A Knife in the Dark, Through a Nightmare Darkly, Vampire Cure, and An Unexpected Voyage are some of the only quests in the game where you are forced to sleep.

So I've unfortunately noticed the "Bed Level Up." doesn't reset all trainers at once?
I'm on a mission to raise Alteration, Conjuration, Destruction, Mysticism, and Restoration to Master level 100.
I'm using the drain skill for each respective one to buy it all from Apprentice trainers.
My plan was to visit a trainer for all five skills, then do a bed level up, and get all five again. (To minimize how much I level up in total.)
However it appears like... Only a trainer in my vicinity resets.
Skingrad Mages Guild, Bruja's Mysticism training was 0/5. However right next to her, Sulinus Vassinus's Conjuration training was 5/5 like the Bed Level Up did nothing. Same for the Restoration trainer Marie down by the Skingrad Julianos Chapel.
2/3 Skingrad Trainers were not affected by it.
However I did the same thing again and Both Bruja and Sulinus were reset, but not Marie, still.
It's basically rolling lucky dice?
Guess I'm going to have to do this one trainer at a time. Giving me an estimated 60 levels besides the intended 15...

Trainers don't reset, you can only by 5 total levels of training across all skills, so like 3 destruction and 2 alteration or whatever, then at that point no trainers will let you buy. Leveling your character up resets this 5/5 back to 0/5 allowing for 5 more levels of training.
@@PRCLive Ah. Makes sense now. This will be unfortunate, ha. (I want to learn Master of all magic skills to get more Enchantment Table options.)
Hopefully me being level 90-100 won't make things too difficult, at least with the difficulty slider. Although I go mostly Chameleon 100 for the fun of it, or I CAN. So I know I wouldn't be completely screwed if the enemies become the incredible hulk. Hmm.
training glitch not working
The trick with draining your own skill doesn't work for me. I mean, it does decrease the cost of training, but once I learn a given skill 5 times it's blocked for further training, even when I use this spell and my skill is 0 :(
That’s because you can only purchase training 5 times per character level. Level up by sleeping when any combination of your major skills has increased by 10, then you can purchase more training.
and each trainer can only do a max of 25. depending if its novice or master. i think its in this game too. but there are diff trainers in each city.

Only athletics and acrobatics work over 100? Wait so if you have a 100 blade skill and have a 'fortify blade 30' item equipped, does the extra 30 not do anything?

I play on xbox360, I tried the method of lowering my acrobatics to 0 and using a trainer to level me and it says I can't be trained any longer.
u can only do one skill 5 times per lv. u need to find another trainer

I thought that attacking the Peryite cultisits gave you an assault bounty that would eventually get so high it would crash the game?
In my testing I did not receive any sort of bounty for attacking them. Shrines typically have no bounty for the crimes due to their being no guards, and in quests like Hermaeus Mora I've blatantly killed several NPCs at various shrines and then yielded to the remaining NPCs at those shrines with no consequence. Also worth noting, I've had 999990 bounty before on console and it overlapped back to 0 before and just resulted in guards no longer pursuing me, but I'm not sure if it behaves the same way on PC. If anybody has legitimately encountered that bounty glitch that'd be good info to add in the description or something, but I haven't currently been able to recreate it.

@@PRCLive Your findings actually make more sense anyway. I don't think the lack of nearby guards is relevant, but Daedric cultists have low responsibility stats so they don't usually report crimes.

The way to fix it is to commit a crime with a low fine like shoplifting ( before the stack of assaults gets to a critical level,) get caught, pay your fine. Rinse & repeat.
since the speed of bethesda games are based on FPS, lowering all the settings on oblivion (including the screen resolution) can make monotonous farming a little bit faster, and overclocking a gpu can increase the speed too if you want to go the extra mile

So realistically we could max out our character and avoid easy farming but getting infinite gold and doing the infinite level up and training? Max out every skill and attributes?
We actually did the math on this, which I'll summarize because the full explanation is way too long. Optimally training up to level 204 (the cap for almost all race/gender combos) results in you needing to manually farm 540 total skill points across all skills. If you include perfectly getting all possible free skill boosts, that number is reduced to 344 total manual skill farms. Once your attributes all hit 100 you cannot keep getting training since you stop leveling up.
