How to play bolt action (enjoy)
JK WARGAMES so useful thank you

What scale are the figures??

Growing up my grandpa had an amazing train setup with this era of train cars, buildings, and vehicles. It would have been awesome to play this game at that table with him.
Just getting into Bolt Action. Thanks for the demo. Very very helpful.
Np thanks
Same here
Superb video, clear, perfectly explained, slow paced...The best one to learn how to play BA. Congrats!
You have a wonderful pace and visual style of explaining rules. Thank you so much!
Np thanks for watching.
Very nice walk through. Thanks for posting. Definitely considering getting into Bolt Action. Great looking series and appears to play really well. Thanks again for the video. 👍
Helpful video. Where's that Matt from?
Very informative for a newbie like me. Nice looking models and table as well! Thanks for posting! Cheers!
Good video you forgot the German unit has hard cover as you are shooting past a wall, that would have been negated if your squad was against the wall
Thanks, yep good point my bad!!!
@@JKWARGAMES you also forgot that the germans could have taken a shot at the US who were charging them because they were more than 6" away
You also forgot our anniversary

Great video and I know it can be tuff to cover everything. I would like to comment on terrain. Shooting is based on line of sight. A lot of your shooting has a wall in between units. If a unit is within 1 inch of the wall I could see them shooting over it at a unit in the "open". But when your units are so far from the wall (1 inch or more) why don't you apply cover to the "to hit" roll?
great video, thanks.
I was high while watching this and the people talking in the background tripped me out lol
I’m getting my first army and I am exited this was helpful so I can get a better understanding of the game
it was very interesting and clear video that helps me understand the game was just confused about the motors and I like your models
Great demo video. Just now getting into it. 15mm though. Much cheaper, and easier to store.
6mm for even cheaper!
Thank you for the video. This is a helpful introduction for those of us considering getting started with this game.
im excited to play this because this reminds me more of 40k 3rd and 4th edition than what 40k has become now.
Thank you dear friend for providing a simple and very understandable guide to playing Bolt Action!
Great guide! Very helpful. I’d like to see more Bolt Action battle reports
Liked and subbed after about 7 minutes. Thank you for taking the time to explain without dragging on. Just the meat and potatoes, I love it. Cheers.
Nice, I now understand better the game
Nicely explained. Good video 👍🏻
Thanks glad you enjoyed.
Could have been explained more clearly though appreciate the time and effort it took to post the video. Should have explained that the recipient gets to call "down" when responding to being shot at providing they had not moved this turn to achieve a -ve modifier to be hit (remembering to remove the command dice from the bag for that unit), also saying lets assume we rolled a " " simply added to confusion rather than a simple walk through. When damaging on a non six roll it was not explicitely explained that the defender gets to select which model should be removed which would have made more sense when going on to explain what happens when the kill roll is a an actual 6 followed by a further 6 permiting the firer to target a specific figure. Not a major issue but as this was a tutorial it could have been clearer. Note I am not an expert but then I am not posting a tutorial. Hope this helps.
Haven't played BA in a while going to get back into it. Thanks mate.
I wish I had money to get some miniatures and paint, it looks so fun!
Comparing to games workshop bolt action is really affordable.
There like £15 for a tank
i know its an old comment but have you heard of Tabletop simulator? i got it for 22$ and found hundreds of mods for every single miniature you could ever want
@@bearg5189 hey looking for people to play bolt action with on tts you should pm me if you wanna play sometime 😎
Congrats on 700+ !
Great video!
Thank you
Just starting wargaming and Bolt Action in particular. Great vid and great help. Where did you get that amazing gaming mat please?
Cheers guys....great vid...you have your self a new subscriber
Thank you kind sir welcome!!
Thinking about playing Bolt Action again. This is a great refresher. Thanks.
Great tutorial thank u. Btw where did u buy your mat/carpet from? looks awsome.
Thanks, its a cigar box battlemat.
We've been thinking about getting into Bolt Action, hence me watching this video. Looks easy and fast, which is what we want. Nice Demo. Thanks
No worries
I picked up Bolt Action last year and the basics are really easy to learn. Most units don't have any special rules, and even the ones that have special rules are also not complicated.
I am certainly still learning but the game itself is easily learned. Love it!
Great overview - thanks for putting this together!
Np glad you liked it.
Glorious stuff. I’ve always had my eye on this game I’ll definitely have to start collecting it as soon as am finished with my 40k armies. I like the idea of the system instead of the 40k I go you go.
Thanks go for it!!
Nice and easy to follow. Thanks.
As per usual, I find myself rather late to the party.
So for what it is worth:
I found this very helpful for learning the rules.
Thank you very much sir.
I'm with you learning now
Great job. I have all my new players watch this!!!!
Thanks 😎
nice video. BA looks pretty good. I'm used to remembering so many extra rules for 40k, but this seems pretty logical in the way you can play it.
Couple of things you forgot! US riflemen can move and fire without penalty ( US special Rule) . Assaults, all pins are removed, and assault weapons are added..( SMG, STG 44).
such an elegant and easy to understand system..
Thanks for the walk through. Just getting started with BA and your explanation helps clarify the rule book.
best explanation of the rules
Great refresher, my friend. Thank you for taking the time to do this!
Great video, I’m new to BA could you do a more in depth video, like firing at buildings, cover , running into buildings etc
Just starting to play this game...great vid.. very helpful..the battle mat looks cool where did you get that...thanks again👍
thanks for this man, it was a great help. the first tutorial i tryed to watch was wrong in many ways and hard to grasp, yours was easy and usefull
Am completely new to this game. Just watched the bit on assaults. How do people feel about the 'all losers die' rule? Does it feel right? I know this is a game rather than a simulation, but do people find instant extinction of the losing unit a good game mechanic?
Great video - well made, and with excellent explanations. Applause!
Think of it as the enemy being overwhelmed or fleeing Jk
Very easy to understand. I always wanted to play this game
Very informative. Appreciate it.
The morale is explained differently in starter set its 2 D6 +1 per hit marker (if higher than morale no movement). Did it change?
Nice job. I’m starting with Bolt Action and this helps.
One question. Where did you buy the scenery? Especially the bocage hedges with the tree, very nice. Thanks, and cheers
I like this tutorial! very easy to follow. Question: ¿what type of mat is it? For thouse of us who are starting, ¿what do you recommend for cheap and easy gaming mat? Regards!
first day today great video
At 12:16 in your HE discussion, you say the unit should receive a pin. But in this case, doesn’t’ the unit take D3 pins, as shown in the HE table that you showed a few moments before?
Also, you then mention that a morale check can occur if the unit is reduced enough … my question is, does that morale check happen before or after the pin[s] are added? (Maybe the pin[s] should have been added after the “hit” occurred?)
I am catching up on all of your videos. One question (maybe silly) Can you play with, lets say, Memoir 44 pieces? or the Airfix of my youth years? Thank you for your answer, I dont know really where to start.... I guess you need the books and the dices... and the markers for hits? Thank you again.
Not really you can play with 15mm or 28mm minis. Band of brothrrs starter set would be the best place to start. Hope that helps.
Very informative! Keep up the good work
Many thanks
Good vid m8 thanks for this i am going to try to get back into this game.
Np glad you enjoyed!!!!
Great demo, nice one
this is incredibly helpful!
Nice job explain it new to wargaming.
So regardless of how many hits are scored from a single unit, the unit being shot at only takes 1 pin token?
You forgot to apply the D3 pins from the mortar hit.
Awesome video. I think I will buy.
Hello! A question on an officer command ability. Does an officer put same or any different orders on troops in a command range? Can he give a fire order to one unit and an advance to another? Should an officer move together with the unit he commanded to advance?
Road Rash got it. Thank you.
Love this. Ty!
Thanks for the detailed video.
Excellent stuff as usual mate :-)
Thank you kind sir.
Im just confused on order dice
You had 6 yanks and 6 Germans so wouldnt it be 3 order dice a side ??
Or does it depend on you
Great demo video!
thank for the video is helpful and it turn out i did alot wrong
Subbed for the ROIFLES
Thank you sir!
Taking pins from mortar on a 2in. Template is d3 pins then you roll for moral
How is the damage resulted if a tank shoots a pak40.?
Is it the same chart as vehicles?
How much for a basis decent kit with some buildings and bocage with a mat to play with? Thank you very much
You can get the starter set for about £60 UK, my mat cost 70 but its awesome can get a cheap mat. buildings vary.
@@JKWARGAMES Wow what a great channel, answer in minutes, thank you! Keep it up!
No worries many thanks
thank you for the awesome video
Noice. Subbed :)
Awesome Simple Demo Game. Love it Man! but,..Brother? YU, Sir? Can not Roll for Shit! lol Great Video!

Thanks cus I'm considering ba
thank you
Very helpful!
very nice well done
Excellent!!
I’m getting into this and it looks fun thanks for the explanation
Where did you get the printed surface your playing on?
Cigar box battle Matt
6:15 How do players determine which man of the unit gets removed when it's not exceptional damage?
Players choice!!
Defender choses
there is surely a rule for this but my understanding is that a 2 man team can assault like a 6 man team und kill 2 of them, they in turn lose one. So the one left standing wipes out all other 4 enemies because they killed more originally???
Wow! there is infantry!!! I was looking for this information.
I want to play with 1 to 72 models and Flames of War is not really good for that.
Now that I am reading up on this Bolt action uses 28 mm which is bigger than the 1 to 72
Bolt action can be played in 1.72 no probs
Iv played it with 15mm not a problem
Great sound thank you for demo
Also watched your CoC video. Which one do you play more often?
Both about the same, very different games tho lol.
This is great, very helpful and clear, thank you.
I mean the first time the panzer hit the us tank, that was to accurate.
Do engineers and tanks has smoke capability?
So there is no wounds?
