Love this! Just going outside clears the head, even if not into a forest. I work from home so I use my Trangia every week day, outside in the garden under a semi-permanently erected tarpaulin for my 2nd cup of coffee at 9am. And on the odd occasion for bacon and eggs. Glad you are going to keep making videos - they're great fun.
Keep doing what your doing 👍 the way you’re doing it Richard. Your not in a competition with other channels, your enthusiasm and obvious enjoyment coupled with tongue in cheek humour keeps what you’re doing fresh and entertaining 😂.
Well I hope you don’t have to give up on the channel, I’m older than you and can’t get around very good anymore so I definitely live vicariously through you so thank you very much and good luck and big applause for the iron man.
That’s the thing with life, it gets in the way of leisure a lot of the time… This video was great and very enjoyable as that’s exactly what me and the dogs do when we get a chance. No stress is the key. 👍🇬🇧
I go up my local woods most nights, light or dark, and make a brew using your fire trough mini and a Trangia. Very simple and sometimes I'll cook a steak or sausages, and as Hazy would put it, its 'Good for the Noggin'
love the simple outing. sometimes we make a fire in our fire pit in our yard and pull out the billy can to boil water for a nice cup of hot chocolate or hot cider just like if we were out camping. 🛴❤
I believe that there are a lot of these small opportunities to get out for an hour that are often ignored. Consequently time is spent waiting for the bigger block of time to be available and, I think, I could easily do enough small outings to equal the time spent on a big outing. I find about 45 minutes out in nature is a huge reset for me. I can do that a few times a week to stay mentally energized. Also, this keeps my skills at their best. I feel your pain when the tea doesn't happen. lol! Great video. Thank you.
Richard you’re absolutely right the videos do not all need to be action packed. I really enjoyed this video, the pace of it was relaxing and there’s nothing better than sitting in the woods, making breakfast or lunch. More of the same, please!
We just like to see you Richard, it doesn't matter what you're doing we watch you for your character 🙂 In this age where we are watched to within an inch, and where we are only shown content for thing we watch regularly, including adverts for things we have already bought! (Advertisers need to start to realise there is no sense in that). I had to come looking for you because I haven't received a notification for you in such a long time. I'm getting a bit sick of it. Happy to have found I've missed a few from you to catch up on. Don't feel pressured to provide for us and don't allow the way TH-cam controls things to pressurise you either 😲
I really enjoy your videos whether it’s a simple cup of tea or a camping trip! Thank you for taking the time to make the videos! I can’t wait for the next one!
Sometimes simple is best and a good reminder of how most started, it's nice just to remember that we all need a break! Off to pack my bag for a brew in the woods 😉
i really liked this video, calm and relaxed. I honestly think that the content doesn't matter that much, we in the audience come for the personalities of our favourite youtubers. I have seen many channels that have advanced and "good" content, but i have not had any interest in them because the hosts hasn't been my cup of tea. We like to spend some time with you, if you go on a grand adventure or make a review of some kit doesn't really matter. Be yourself and enjoy making videos, don't overthink it, and it will all be good. Thanks man, take care! 👍🏻👍🏻
Good job! A simple “visit” is fine. As we get older, changes are something we all have to do. Thanks for sharing. Simon, a bloke in the woods, has expressed an interest in learning how to fish. Maybe you could help him. He doesn’t need to go on a grand far away trip. Just teach him how to down size and catch the fish near the shore and close to home. Thanks for all you do and taking us along.
Keep up the good work doing what you do mate. You have to enjoy what you do to do a great job. We enjoy watching your adventures near home as much as the more spectacular ones! Fantastic to see some outdoor cooking and maybe learn some new recipes!
Hello Richard, Really enjoyed the video, thanks. I agree, a steady walk with a relaxing lunch break is great. Good to see you like your halloumi crispy 🤣 Take care.
Another Great video Richard. Sometimes simple is best but regardless of content etc I enjoy following your journey and thank you for sharing it. You are so right about the work-life balance and I think COVID taught us a lot about the important things in life. I love this time of year and even winter getting out and walking through the woods, admittingly I don't make a brew when out but take one with me, find a log and have a wee seat and enjoy what we have watching my Lab and Collie sniff through the undergrowth. Love how you just sit down and have a blether with us. Take care.
It warmed my heart to hear you talk about going into the garage and firing up a stove. My wife sometimes comes back to find the conservatory table covered in meths stoves I have dug out and fired up just for the fun of boiling water and working out which works best, which cat-food can height gap works gives the faster boil etc. Lovely relaxed video thank you.
Richard, hello! Lovely to see you with a simple and encouraging upload. Thanks. Hope life's not giving you more choices than you need at the moment and good luck to you and yours. J&A&B&T
Great to you out again. There's definitely no need to always go on a big trip or put out a major video. Lovely to just see you enjoying the simple pleasure of just being outside and making a simple lunch. Keep putting out these lovely videos when you can get the chance. Thank you. Rachel
Simplicity sometimes is the best. What’s best for you though is most important. 👌🏻 If that involves bacon and halloumi, that’s a win, perhaps a tad less done though 😂🔥
Ha. Actually it was just a thin crisp…..quite nice texture really! Hope you’re well mate. I’ll catch up with your vids as soon as my backside hits a chair!
@@RichardOutdoors many a time I have forgot about halloumi on a bbq. I have never taken it out to camp but I will, as I love it. 😋 Busy man here there and everywhere. Hopefully you find time to camp more this winter, have nice fires and do some good cooking 👌🏻
Excellent . We're persuaded that BIG is better and forget that big things are made from lots of little, simple things - like those big aircraft you fly - start with simple and go back there often. I've been doing the same lately. Just going out locally, brewing a cuppa and enjoying the landscape, the solitude and the head space. The Best Medicine. Thanks Richard, from East Yorkshire (the flat bit).
Great video Richard, i always enjoy watching your channel as you bring a nice sense of peace and serenity. Keep up the great work mate, and more importantly......definately 'Keep it simple'........all the best from sunny Cornwall.
Good to see you back Richard and it’s good to hear your not giving up the channel , l would really miss the videos look after your self best wishes Hazel
Fabulous to see you back in your element again. I don't blame ya for bolstering your work life balance and am over the moon you are continuing with Yt. Have you got any collaborations with Simon and Andy planned or would like to do, ask them, sure they'd love your company.
Wonderful video, i enjoy what you do and how you do it dont change it always great to see you. Thats how i do my videos, just show people what i am doing and hope they enjoy it, but i get out and reset myself for the upcoming week. Even doing things in my backyard at my fire pit helps. Cheers
Go on Richard! Time is too short. Your videos are very nice and I looked them with pleasure. Sometimes simple is very good. Be thankfully for this little moments . Glad to see you again. And next time don’t forgot your tea ha ha
Hi Richard have you ever used cha punck wood easy to make and find I have allways found it takes a spark or solar so great give it a go you will find it's great big thanks 👍 nice video 👍
I've literally just finished eating and you've made me hungry again. I was worried for a second when you mentioned work life balance, I thought you were going to quit TH-cam. I need to remember to keep things simple, I don't always have time for a proper camp.
Oh man, it was good to see you out n about modelling some new clothes and some obscure leg art. Really enjoyed the simple outing and your open conversation with us. Cheers, Dav
Mmmmm, halloumi! I know what you mean about just needing to get out, I've been training for a 10K (now done) and because of that have been in the gym rather than out and about, and having finished that it was great to get back to just a simple 10K walk from my house out and around my local park which is a country park in pine woodland.
Like the nice mini adventure, like you say you don't have to do the big stuff every time. If it ever stops raining in Devon I'll be doing the same thing. Take care Tony in Brixham
Hi Richard, good to see you out again. Lunch looked great. Please don't overdo things. For us it is relaxing to watch you and hear your voice. Always enjoy. Take good care of yourself.
Really enjoyed that film, after a long hard shift it is really relaxing to watch you enjoying a quick break out in the country. Keep them coming please!
Great message there. I sometimes get caught up with the busyness of life and overthink about my channel and what to do next and forget about the soothing effects of making a brew outdoors 👍
welcome back fella! enjoyed that and bacon halloumi and avocado will be on my shopping list tomorrow! .. Re the videos, I think most of us watch for ASMR, chilled out. interesting easy going stuff. Just watching someone boil a brew in the woods is relaxing. or cooking. or just chatting. So imo don't feel the need to scale a mountain. Just do what you enjoy! Thanks for sharing matey. Hot tent season is approaching! 😎
Hi Richard, hubbie and I really enjoy watching your videos. Keeping it simple is the way to go and often a more enjoyable time. We're lucky to live on Dartmoor and often a stove and a brew kit to have a break whilst walking is the best. Sitting, watching and listening can be so rewarding. Question... within the boundaries of Persec, are you ex Herc Air Crew?
Good to see you back. I enjoyed the video. I think I'll go by the grocery store are pick up some bacon and halloumi. Thanks and it's great to know you're going to keep up the videos. Much appreciated.
These more simple films are wonderful. I often just escape into the garden if pushed for time, and spark up one of my various stoves, just to brew up a cuppa or cook some breakfast and enjoy being outside. Many of my day trips are really very simple and are all the more enjoyable for that very reason. Never feel the pressure to produce some wizzy hi energy film. We love the simple things in life where you just go and chill. I love your comment about being able to share these sort of trips with folk who, for whatever reasons, just may not be able to get out, but can still pick up a little of the calm from sharing your day. It is a form of therapy for all and not to be underestimated. Long comment I know, but as a huge aviation fan, a CI with RAF cadets and who has been so lucky to fly often with the RAF, I feel your conflict! But, you are taking on the role elsewhere with the new flying club post, so you continue to give to those starting out in aviation; Well done you!! Thanks for another lovely film Richard and for sharing your thoughts.
Welcome back Richard! Good to see you on form, I test drove the fire trough mini last week, tis a lovely thing! Keep up the good work and look after yourself!
From a personal point of view, a video of a simple, relaxed trip to the woods on a fine day, is good to see, even if you then confess to the keel hauling offence of forgetting the Tea Bags!! I find such videos far more watchable than the increasingly common Gucci kit promoting, cooking demo, log cabin building exploits of many You Tube 'Bush Crafters'...Simple is good, there are plenty of hyper action, shiney kit videos for those that need them. 👍
Just happy you brought us along! We love all your videos, short, long, camp, coffee, knife build, etc. Random question, will we ever see a fly-in with Simon type video again? Maybe get Andy from Kent in there as well. I think between the 3 of you it would be an epic food trip! Thanks again for the video and we will see you on the next one!
Hi Richard, I have see quite a few of your videos now and I just like seeing your face and hearing your voice mate. Yes it's nice if you can find the time for some more time consuming vids every now and then. For me you chatting and seeing how cunfortuble you are in front of the camera gose along way, as well as you kindly sharing details of your life with us all. I think at first people watch for content but after a bit realy, they just want to watch and know more about you. Lovely, honest, easy watch video thanks for sharing Richard 👍
Lovely to see you out and about Richard. The Haloumi was less burnt, than proven to be cooked outdoors, good luck with your career path and fantastic to hear your continued desire to keep entertaining us. All the best and thank you.
Great to see you back Richard. I think you understand your viewers much more than many of the other channels out there. The KISS philosophy (Keep It Simple Stupid). I have no idea what it takes to have a channel, I assume it’s a lot of work to try and get more subscribers, but don’t change what you’re doing. And as a side note, really liking the twig stove and frying pan from your last give away…!
Great to see you out again, and enjoyed hearing about what your plans are for the future. I'm sure you'll do well and enjoy! I truly enjoy the simple videos too. I am on my own, and spend a LOT of time alone, so it feels kind of like I'm sharing some time with a friend, just listening and enjoying the outdoors with you. There are only 3 - 4 that I really enjoy doing that with. Simon, Andy, you of course, Maxim and Xander and Jon at Lost Lakes. How nice is that to have a friend who can allow you to come and get all the flint you want! I never heard of Haloumi until I saw Simon cooking some a while back. I had not been able to find any where I can shop, but then I was in an Aldi and they have a box full of it! I love It! I like to marinate it in cubes, fry it up kind o dark brown and se like croutons in a salad! But your bacon/Haloumi Sandwich is going to be next on my menu!
Simplicity has got to be the mantra for life! Simplify everything and enjoy life more. I know it’s not easy, we are all guilty of trying to fit as much in to our days as possible, because time is short but it’s ultimately shorter still when we don’t take the time to enjoy each simple moment. Modern life is one big rush and it takes guts and strength to step off the treadmill. Complexity ultimately causes more anxiety and stress because we get in to a pattern of thinking we need to do more! We, as a species, seem to be obsessed by doing as much as we can in the shortest possible time. Ultimately we reach the point of burnout. It’s good that you have recognised this before you get to that point. I love your channel and your honest and unique approach to your presentation. Keep up the good work, but at your own pace and in your own time. Genuine subscribers will wait, patiently, for any content 😊
It’s Perfect Richard!!! It shows who you truly are, and that’s enough for me. I re-watch your videos quite often, because they’re that enjoyable, Keep them coming Sir… ty for your dedication to your channel and fans from all over the world
Absolutely yes. I don't get out much for... reasons (although working on it) and so it's great to watch someone else just enjoying the outdoors. It doesn't have to be complex all the time, in some respects it's the simplicity that's the attraction. Glad you're sticking with the 'Tube, and wish you the best with adjusting the work/life balance. Thanks for sharing Richard, that was a good video.
Love ya Richard! Hey next time think about bringing a piece of frozen salmon (already de-skinned and covered in blackening spices...yum!) and then fry that up after the bacon. A salmon, bacon, avocado pita sandwich sounds lovely don't you think? Cheers!! :)
Wild? Occasionally.
Wacky? Always.
Required to continue? Definitely!!
Most entertaining & relaxing. No pretentions.
Keep doing what your doing 👍 the way you’re doing it Richard. Your not in a competition with other channels, your enthusiasm and obvious enjoyment coupled with tongue in cheek humour keeps what you’re doing fresh and entertaining 😂.
Young man, so glad to see you back! Do what you can, the content always makes me smile😄✅
Great to see you again Richard, cuppa Rosie Lee or what ever! Enjoy as much as I am! I could smell the Bacon from here! 👍👣😎🙃
Well I hope you don’t have to give up on the channel, I’m older than you and can’t get around very good anymore so I definitely live vicariously through you so thank you very much and good luck and big applause for the iron man.

🛴❤
Excellent! Always go with the flow, there is a time for high intensity and a time for simplicity. All is valid equally.
I believe that there are a lot of these small opportunities to get out for an hour that are often ignored. Consequently time is spent waiting for the bigger block of time to be available and, I think, I could easily do enough small outings to equal the time spent on a big outing. I agree that just enjoying the outdoors with a hot drink ( I sometimes take a book !) is so calming.
Richard you’re absolutely right the videos do not all need to be action packed. I really enjoyed this video, the pace of it was relaxing and there’s nothing better than sitting in the woods, making breakfast or lunch. More of the same, please!
Great chilled out video Richard 👍. Good to see you back
Good to have you back Richard! Really nice relaxing one that.
We just like to see you Richard, it doesn't matter what you're doing we watch you for your character 🙂

Put yourself first enjoying the outdoors is priority.. Don't chase the views and subs they will come.Always a enjoyable relaxing watch .Thanks
Totally agree with you Richard, keep it simple and enjoy the little things. This one was spot on for me. Thanks! Henk (from Holland)
All the best Henk!
Don’t need elaborate camps, simple food and a chat….perfect. Good to see you again.
A lot of us are just fat and lazy and live vicariously through your adventures.
🤣🤣
such a good point, a simple set up and basic food on a walk...nothing better.
I really enjoy your videos whether it’s a simple cup of tea or a camping trip! Thank you for taking the time to make the videos! I can’t wait for the next one!
A leisurely afternoon, comfortable
Sometimes simple is best and a good reminder of how most started, it's nice just to remember that we all need a break! Off to pack my bag for a brew in the woods 😉
Great little video. Absolutely right...keep it simple and just get out there.👏
Great to see you again. Don’t change it too much. Keep it simple and natural. We all need it. Thanks Richard. All the best.
Thanks Mark!
i really liked this video, calm and relaxed. I honestly think that the content doesn't matter that much, we in the audience come for the personalities of our favourite youtubers. fantastic good to see you back keep up the great content thank you.
Always enjoy your videos… you’re a very personal chap…. And I enjoy your company.
Good job!
A simple “visit” is fine. As we get older, changes are something we all have to do. Thanks for sharing.

a wander, a brew(sort of lol) , bit of grub and a natter........works for me 👍
Keep them coming, I always enjoy your videos in woodlands!
Enough for me, next time don't forget your tea xvery relaxing thanks again x

Mr Outdoors you are a man of many facets. I will follow your chanel regardless of the level of output! 😆
You are absolutely spot on! Half the fun is in the ‘ceremony’ of making a drink in a slightly more mindful way. In nature is even better! Love it! 🙏🏻
I really enjoyed this! Thank you 😊
I really enjoyed that video Richard, I hope you get the work/leisure time balanced ! 😀

Thanks again for the video and we will see you on the next one!
Who knows? 😉
Getting out is what it's all about. Thanks for sharing my friend 🤠
Loved the video. Good to hear the news. Looking for something whacky, come to Peru!
Appreciated Neal!
Nice interesting video Richard and not been subbed for long but I enjoy finding somthing out about the TH-camrs so many say nothing personal.
Cheers 👍
its a great idea..just make a brew...cheers richard..not released my 1st you ube vid yet...but simple sounds good ..thanks
Lovely to see you out and about Richard. The Haloumi was less burnt, than proven to be cooked outdoors, good luck with your career path and fantastic to hear your continued desire to keep entertaining us. All the best and thank you.
Thanks Stephen!
Thanks Maggie!
Thanks so much Rob.

It’s Perfect Richard!!! It shows who you truly are, and that’s enough for me. I re-watch your videos quite often, because they’re that enjoyable, Keep them coming Sir… ty for your dedication to your channel and fans from all over the world
Thanks Gina!
Thanks Pete!
Richard Your videos are always good so don’t worry whatever you do is good looking forward to whatever you do next
Love ya Richard! Hey next time think about bringing a piece of frozen salmon (already de-skinned and covered in blackening spices...yum!) and then fry that up after the bacon. A salmon, bacon, avocado pita sandwich sounds lovely don't you think? Cheers!! :)
🤤
We don’t need “wild and wacky” but no tea bags, that’s unforgivable😂
I know!
