But I now know what these XYZ Monsters are from the Zexal series. XYZ Monsters are summoned when 2 or more monsters of the same level are used as summoning material. Also an XYZ Monster doesn’t have a level instead they have a rank. For example 2 level four monsters are used to XYZ summon a rank 4 XYZ Monster. But the monsters aren’t immediately sent to the graveyard instead they are used as Overlay Units for the XYZ Monster to use its special abilities. Also as far as pronunciation goes it is pronounced as “ick-zee” kinda like XZ I don’t know why there’s a ‘Y’ in there since it’s silent but blame the creators lol If you don’t know what a Synchro Monster is then I can give another brief description. Synchro Monsters come from the Yu-Gi-Oh 5D’s series. How this summoning works is simple. You need one monster and a tuner monster as summoning material for summoning a Synchro Monster. The total levels of the monsters used as Synchro summoning material must equal the level of the Synchro Monster. For example you have one level 5 monster and a level 3 tuner monster. You can use them to summon a level 8 Synchro Monster. And yes these monsters that were used as summoning material go straight to the graveyard. (In my opinion this Synchro summon just looks like excessive tribute summoning compared to the traditional way.) Now as far as pendulum and link monsters go I have no idea and I feel like link monsters are just way more complex than the ones I just stated. Today's meta games are tedious to go through which now suits better for a online or digital play where the game system handles all the shuffles, searches, calculations, and excavations and banishing and long chain moves.
These matches could be made so much more entertaining and exciting to watch! Vary the camera angles, close-ups on the players' hand like in Poker, montages like in WWE matches or high-production value E-Sports, having the players orally declare their moves... Here it just feels like watching a card game from above the player's shoulders, but from far away.

I was great at this game when when I was eleven. I'm 31 now and I'm so emotional watching this. My parents prohibited from playing because of I was taught this was demonic. How awful to have believed them since they were my guardians. I miss this game and had such a passion for it. Bittersweet to watch this.
NationJJ Try out Speed duel, it’s a great introduction back into Yugioh where the mechanics are quite complicated now. It takes a while to learn it all

Konami is so freaking weird. This tournament is just the most bizarre blend of low-rent and awesome. They've got Yami Yugi as MC... they've got this cool stage and all that... and then they've got what appears to be a camera just held by hand, announcers that can't see what cards are being banished, and what sounds like the music from the old Duelist Generation game for Android in the background...? WHY!?!

Is yugioh worth getting back into? I played series 1 back in 2003 and when Envoy Chaos Emperor Dragon was legit. Should I invest into yugioh now or Magic?
If you still want to as a means of having fun than I’d still say play. Sure there are times where people say “blank killed Yu-Gi-Oh!”, but really it’s just something new to push it a bit further because we need something new to spice it up and make it worth while. Get into it and keep up with rule sets, but play it more casually and just watch up on things happening within the community and you’ll be fine.

With Master Rule 2020 coming up, why not? Old school is coming back. If you also want to play MTG, it's also cool. I play YGO and MTG. Each has its strong and weak pts, but I like both. You dont have to like one and dislike the other.

I dream about the day when they can get a good quality 1080 camera , and set the exposure right so we can see what are the cards. Also, this is a professional tournament? How about get a camera holding machine? Or at least get a tripod and set the camera stationary?
best rule would be if that wins a whole game, not just a round. 1 set of exodia, no dupes. The heart of the cards decided you win. Maybe let the refs shuffle and the opponents cut the deck.
@@Theskafan I know this is a old comment but those types of cards are banned in yugioh. A card does exist where if you attack your opponent and kill him you insta win the entire match and not a game. But what stopping the opponent from just giving up? A player is allowed to "scoop" whenever they want so the card has been banned because you cant rule it correctly. If my opponent goes to show me he has 5 exodia pieces ill just give up and we move on to game 2 or 3. So it does nothing

I learned how to play around four months ago and I think right now is the best it’s ever been so far for me. There are so many good competitive decks out there nowadays even in this format. Master Duel is coming out soon if you want to learn, plus it’ll be free I think.
I love yu gi oh and they need to yu gi oh clubs back in school and I love yu gi oh clubs and I love duel and I love real yu gi oh championship.I love yu gi oh and yu gi oh need to be ever where and rocks and yu gi oh is the best.
Bro try it by yourself with some friends and a budget deck, you will enjoy it when you slowly understand the mechanics and combine your one good decks, finding new friends on local shops or just play it over your screen with friends, definitely worth it
I need a tournament that applies 3D effects to the arena and monsters like in the movies. It will be even more explosive then. The cards will have electronic chips, and 3D effects will appear, along with spectacular combat and skins. I really look forward to that day.

@@kippoilmagikarp i think its an indicator card. if they have searched their deck in a turn they turn it red and dont have to shuffle it if they want to search more cards later down the combo train. when they have to draw e.g. in their draw phase they first have to shuffle and turn the card back to green so everyone knows the deck is now shuffled correctly

u mean the red/green card? i think it indicates wether his deck is shuffled or not. just imagine shuffling your deck everytime u have to search out a combo piece in a turn, so they switch it back to green if they shuffled it so the deck is good to go for the next turn for his draw phase
I'm sure these guys know every card that's ever been printed just about and know the effect just by looking at the picture but it is interesting seeing them duel with their decks both in a different language and the language barrier between both of them. I feel like I couldn't duel someone that had a Japanese deck for instance and they didn't speak english I'd be confused lol.
Not the easiest way to get back into the game, but you can try duel links or buy buget decks and have some fun games with a friend, its totally worth it and a good thing in the pendemic, you can even play trough your screen with fimling it

You should learn it again, its actually really fun. Its just a bit complicated but you can get used to it in a few matches

Also, having the game actually be FUN instead of a one sided domination with almost no interaction would probably help.
They cant declare moves since they arent allowed to hear the outside due to the commentators giving vital info

Is yugioh worth getting back into? I played series 1 back in 2003 and when Envoy Chaos Emperor Dragon was legit. Should I invest into yugioh now or Magic?
If you still want to as a means of having fun than I’d still say play. Sure there are times where people say “blank killed Yu-Gi-Oh!”, but really it’s just something new to push it a bit further because we need something new to spice it up and make it worth while. Get into it and keep up with rule sets, but play it more casually and just watch up on things happening within the community and you’ll be fine.

I took your advice and I plan to buy some legacy collection boxes and to just have some plain fun :) I do plan to play competitively on your mom and pop shop but nothing extremely serious. Im definately late but i think it is a good idea. especially with master rule 5 coming into effect soon. i have a lot of fun with my shiranui deck!
With Master Rule 2020 coming up, why not? Old school is coming back. If you also want to play MTG, it's also cool. I play YGO and MTG. Each has its strong and weak pts, but I like both. You dont have to like one and dislike the other.

best rule would be if that wins a whole game, not just a round. 1 set of exodia, no dupes. The heart of the cards decided you win. Maybe let the refs shuffle and the opponents cut the deck.
@@Theskafan I know this is a old comment but those types of cards are banned in yugioh. A card does exist where if you attack your opponent and kill him you insta win the entire match and not a game. But what stopping the opponent from just giving up? A player is allowed to "scoop" whenever they want so the card has been banned because you cant rule it correctly. If my opponent goes to show me he has 5 exodia pieces ill just give up and we move on to game 2 or 3. So it does nothing

It's still popular, best time to play is now. You have so much choices for archetypes and in general it's soo freaking fun.
I learned how to play around four months ago and I think right now is the best it’s ever been so far for me. There are so many good competitive decks out there nowadays even in this format. Master Duel is coming out soon if you want to learn, plus it’ll be free I think.

Bro try it by yourself with some friends and a budget deck, you will enjoy it when you slowly understand the mechanics and combine your one good decks, finding new friends on local shops or just play it over your screen with friends, definitely worth it
I need a tournament that applies 3D effects to the arena and monsters like in the movies. It will be even more explosive then. The cards will have electronic chips, and 3D effects will appear, along with spectacular combat and skins. I really look forward to that day.

I think it’s a thing to count the turns but I’ve also never seen it before
@@kippoilmagikarp i think its an indicator card. if they have searched their deck in a turn they turn it red and dont have to shuffle it if they want to search more cards later down the combo train. when they have to draw e.g. in their draw phase they first have to shuffle and turn the card back to green so everyone knows the deck is now shuffled correctly

u mean the red/green card? i think it indicates wether his deck is shuffled or not. just imagine shuffling your deck everytime u have to search out a combo piece in a turn, so they switch it back to green if they shuffled it so the deck is good to go for the next turn for his draw phase

I'm sure these guys know every card that's ever been printed just about and know the effect just by looking at the picture but it is interesting seeing them duel with their decks both in a different language and the language barrier between both of them. I feel like I couldn't duel someone that had a Japanese deck for instance and they didn't speak english I'd be confused lol.
