I'm a big proponent of EQ and never use any iems without it. I wouldn't even buy iems if there was no eq software 😅. All the best studio monitors use it. Why not use somethong that doesn't harm the iem in any way and may give you waaay better sound (in my case) 😊
@@jordanng5428 Only downside is you lose some volume sincewhen you increse any freq you actually lower all the others, but most dongles/dacs have enough power now. Also you don't lose details compared to a tuning nozzle that literally blocks the sound.
Hi Jordan, a lot of the reviews that I watched regarding EW300 also recommend the DSP version. I want to try it too as my first IEM, since I like the black finishing more than the silver, but I'm not sure if it's the better choice for me use, since my phone is still using a lightning connection. Do you think the standard/silver EW300 with (3.5 to lightning/usb c) apple dongle will sound better like the DSP version? I was also thinking if it might be better for me to just go with the Sennheiser IE 200 compared to the total cost of EW300 DSP + 3.5mm cable + lightning apple dongle. Struggle is real on what to buy online when there is no available shops within my area to try these IEMs first hand hahaha
Thx! Nice review on the DSP version. Just wondering what's the sound difference between the stock nozzle and the one with the purple oring? Would u say, the detail resolution of EW300 is on par with EA500LM?
You can't have a dsp cable on an analog cable. You can have some transistors that work kinda like the crossovers that the iem already has. It's a lot easier to use eq to get exactly the sound you want.
If EQ is cheating, then throw out every record produced in the last 50 years cause they ALL have EQ. You should see the amount of gear and tweaking that goes on during recording and realize that engineers make their own decisions on how things "should" sound. If they can do it, so can we. Silly to restrict yourself from something like this.

I have the EM6L and SM4, for gaming purposes, wonder if the EW300 sounds better and which to choose... I get that the DSP model sounds great but I won't ever use a USB cable as I use a dac/amp... any recommendations ? A USB-C to 3.5mm adapter would do the job ? Would the DSP cable work that way ?
@@Frank_P83 haha.. no.. the dsp need to be plugged straight to your phone. Just get the ew300, then maybe a dongle will do the job. Haha.. more bass than what u using now i guess.
Nice review.
For me EW300 DSP is the Best value iem 2024 👍
Hi how would you compare them to Truthear Hexa
im buying an iem for the first time and im pretty confused between these two
Hi man, I wanted to thank you because I bought the ea500LM recently and I absolutely love it!

@@jordanng5428 Appreciated your reply Jordan. Thanks for the advice and have a nice day!

@@pixarboy5751 stock nozzle more aggressive, the gold one is warmer and less aggressive. Tech somewhat close to ea500lm or slight better.
Wow! Thanks! That's a very high praise🙏
Hi
EW300 (3.5) VS EA500LM , which one do you like ?
@Nook-NS i would prefer the ew300.. its warmer and easier to listen for long hours.
@@jordanng5428 thank you so much.
Looks pretty nice. Do you have any suggestions for a subbassy iem around ~200usd mark? :))

Hi would you the EW300 or the Truthear Hexa as a first time IEM buyer?
Go for EW300. HEXA is pretty neutral you won't like it to have as the 1st IEM.
Thanks Jordan. I agree with you DSP trend isn't good for this hobby. They might as well sell custom DSP connectors with cable.

I have a shanling up4 2022 edition, can i connect the dsp version of this iem to this portable Dac?
no, why would you? just connect it to your phone. You could put a normal .78mm cable on it if you want to use the dac though.

Every DSP IEM cable is compatibile with modern PC with Windows 10 and above
