It works with any phone, but if you have an Android, you can use the LDAC Bluetooth codec for better sound quality. It'll work with any IEM or headphone you have. There are so many great options at different price points, it’s hard to list them all here.
The R4 has a warmer sound with a slightly thicker note weight and a bit of color to its tone. For the price, it's a solid-sounding DAP with Android OS and some nice sound customization features. @atechreviews Thank you for the video! What do you think if the FiiO q3. I have it currently snd looking to change things up. After seeing this review, i wonder how that dac/amp would compare. Do you have any input on the q3 at all?
I’ve never heard the Q3, but it sounds great. However, based on the specs, the BTR17 is smaller, wireless, has a display, a better DAC chip, a new upgraded THX amp, a lower noise floor, lower output impedance, and double the power output. I think something with EQ, like the BTR17 or something similar, will give you more flexibility and a lot of fun options.
Is ther battery protect mode still buggy? my btr7 never really charges to 80 lol. Sometimes I need to unplug and replug for it to keep charging. Either way I ordered last weekend from hifigo and I'm pumped.
PAIRING and unpairing and dropping a previous connection or setting to not auto pair is easily the most annoying and hit or miss thing about Bluetooth devices. That's what I want to know about.
It won't auto-pair with new devices, you'll need to pair it manually from your phone or PC. Once paired, it reconnects automatically and supports two simultaneous connections. You can unpair, clear all pairings, or turn off Bluetooth if you want.
Just got mine today, really worst product ever, DAC are completely useless, you can hear good sound from the phone jack itself, it won't help anyway to retrieve the detail, my 200$ goes in vein
I wouldn't say DACs are completely useless, they are made for equipment that need the extra power output that some phones can't push out. If you don't have good enough IEMs/headphones that are more power hungery to function, then of course you won't notice a difference.

You need to use the FiiO app or any PC with a web browser to adjust the frequencies. Once you've made the changes, you can save them and switch between them directly on the device. You can’t adjust specific frequencies directly on the device itself unless you’ve already saved them to a specific EQ profile.
@@Atechreviews thanks very much.. yeah i was looking the fiiocontrol web using chrome.
I have the BTR7 and i only ever used it as usb dongle, it shone so much like that i never used bluetooth, am i misusing it i dunno
If it works, then it works.
What is your IEM? Which one you use with the BTR17?
I use a variety of IEMs with the BTR17.
This thing is basically KA17 without bluetooth
How would you say it compares to Hiby R4?
The R4 has a warmer sound with a slightly thicker note weight and a bit of color to its tone. For the price, it's a solid-sounding DAP with Android OS and some nice sound customization features. I like it. However, in terms of sound quality, the BTR17 is a step or two ahead. It has more detail, clarity, separation, layering, and precise imaging. The BTR17 sounds neutral and uncolored with better bass texture, and I can hear a lot more detail on it. Both have good soundstage, but the BTR17 has better layering. I can make the BTR17 sound warmer by using EQ, but I can't do the opposite with the R4 if I wanted to.
@ wow thanks for the explanation. I honestly might get both lmao
Hi, are you interested in reviewing our new product T10PRO, many audiophiles are looking forward to your review!
Compare with Artemis39!!!
I haven’t heard the Artemis, so I can’t comment on its sound.
What a headphones you recommend for 50-200 bucks bang for the buck?
What kind of sound signature do you prefer?
@@Atechreviews like a hd650, lcd2 full sound, Vocals full... neutral maybe..
@@Opeth1483 Best I’ve tried in this price range:
1. SHP9500/9600 - Great overall with good sound stage, not much bass.
2. Sennheiser HD58X Jubilee - Similar to the HD650, but with more bass.
3. Sennheiser HD560S - More neutral.
4. HiFiMAN HE-400SE - Slight V-shaped sound.
5. AKG K361/K371 - Good tonality, closed-back.
@@Atechreviews what about iems and earphones?
It look alot like those small spy camera back in the 1980''
🤔
@Atechreviews see! This is why you're awesome. Thank you for replying and taking time out to help me.
@@MrAllen84 You're welcome. I appreciate the kind words.
A leather case with the device?! Surely not! 🤣
У Fiio продаётся Bluetooth-адаптер для телефона с поддержкой aptX lossless.
Thanks for sharing. 👍
@Atechreviews 🙏
Is ther battery protect mode still buggy? my btr7 never really charges to 80 lol. Sometimes I need to unplug and replug for it to keep charging. Either way I ordered last weekend from hifigo and I'm pumped.
Honestly, I’ve never experienced that with the BTR7 or BTR17. Hope you get yours soon and enjoy it!
Sitting here in dark grey November Europe and waiting on China to bring theyr stuff on amazon, man thats hard times.
Tough times. Hopefully, you'll get yours soon.
Skipping the BTR17 because I already have the GoBlu. Picking up the Hiby R4 instead.
Hope you enjoy it.
Also you can use the btr17 as a high res bt transmitter for tws.
oh wow really?
are you sure? I thought it was just a receiver? The BTR 7 is just a receiver
This is incorrect.
Transmitting what exactly?
@@seaneckhart9914 sending sound to bluetooth headphones
Case, looks well nasty.
Why?
@Atechreviews Incomparison to the 7's it looks rough. Perhaps it will look better in person.
Ok.
The urge to sell my Hiby FC6 to fund this is getting stronger now... but FC6 is no longer in production
They both sound different too.
