    Note - I had to remove the opening title music I wrote because of the copyright trolls that prey on TH-camrs these days. They release tons of stock music using public domain loops to fool TH-cam's music algorithms. The goal is to profit from your videos. I've had at least five claims against the opening and closing titles on this video to date so I decided it was easier to just remove the music.

    A very nice Video. Normally 35 mins is a long Video for Utube, but so much is explained and shown beautifully in a relatively short time. A must watch for all bikers to know the basics of Servicing a Sports Bike. TNT 1130 is just awesome.

    Thanks Mike for sharing! I have the TreK, which is similar, and this will really help. Nice looking Guzzi Sport in the background too (I bought one off A1 a few years ago).

    • @MikesMachines
      @MikesMachines  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are most welcome. The Trek is a very underrated bike and way more comfortable than the TnT!

    • @pencilcharlie1
      @pencilcharlie1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right! I am quite tall, and after owning many bikes, including a Blackbird and the Guzzi Sport, I'm finding the Trek SO good for my frame. Just having some trouble with the idling, as it tends to stall after a long squirt, or as I'm coming to a round-about, so the piece on the mapping was interesting. But I love the character and raspy note! It's so Italian.

    • @MikesMachines
      @MikesMachines  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My 2006 TnT went through a series of map updates before it became reliable at idle and low throttle openings. I don't know about the Trek but the idle speed on the early TnTs was raised as part of these updates to stop the idle stall problem. The idle mixture setting is also critical on the TnT.

    • @pencilcharlie1
      @pencilcharlie1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks again Mike. I'll look into it. There's a Benelli Facebook page which is helpful, and also no doubt some forums. If I get stuck, does A1 still service Benellis? Or do you have another recommendation in Melbourne (I'm in Ballarat and there's no one out here).

    • @MikesMachines
      @MikesMachines  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Benelli expertise is hard to find in Melbourne these days. The two mechanics at A1 who were great with Benellis left some years ago.
      The Benelli Owners forum is still good for info though but doesn't get much traffic anymore.

    Great video Mike. As ever very informative and a pleasure to watch. I ended up here from your later retrospective view of the TNT ownership, which in turn I found whilst researching on the TreK model. I realise the mapping of that bike is probably different but how thirsty do you find the TNT? I’m thinking of touring northern Spain along the length of the Pyrenees and feel my Aprilia Falco probably needs lots of work so I am looking at the TreK as a replacement. I believe the Falco holds an extra litre and will comfortably get 180 miles (approx 289 km) between fills on a run so long as I’m not caning it. Thanks, Gareth

    • @MikesMachines
      @MikesMachines  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Gareth. The early TnTs drink fuel like a Scotsman on a week long bender. I'm lucky to get close to 200 kms on a tank full and then only if I'm careful. The Trek has different cams and tune and should do better than the TnT but it would be worth working out the fuel economy before setting off.

    Is there an alternative oil filter that can be used for the 2017 TNT 300, I would at least like to be able to do oil changes. AliExpress would not ship to my region Las Vegas and K&N said they have nothing made for it . A dealer in town probably can get it but I saw a 125 TH-cam video use an oil filter from K&N and wonder if you knew of any options.

    Very detailed and professional video. I was contemplating buying a TNT, I am in Melbourne, could you service it and complete pre-purchase inspection? What should I look out for.. Z25..etc. I would like higher spec fans/cooling system and possibly fit TREK windshield? Hate bugs. Which other bikes in same price range would you recommend?

    • @MikesMachines
      @MikesMachines  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the TnT is an early one you should check that all the updates have been done. Z25, stepper motor, starter motor & clutch basket. Since the later models aren't that much more an R160 might be a better buy if you can find one. In regards to overheating, I've had no issues with mine. Unfortunately I don't know anyone locally these days who services the older Benellis. Similar bikes from the era would include the Aprilia Tuono, Ducati Monster or Cagiva Raptor.

    Hi Mike, Excellent video!!! I own a 2017 TNTR 1130 in India probably the last of the lot wd Brembo kit. It has done only 2000 kms and the rpms on idling drop from 1400 to 900/1000. An issue which company failed to fix. Any recommendations please to help me out. The bie stalled maybe twice in one year but still risky to takeout on long drives. One local mechanic said that maybe the throttle body can be faulty but an expensive deal. What is your advice on this issue?
    Thanks and Regards, Sagar

    • @MikesMachines
      @MikesMachines  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My 2006 TnT has an idle speed adjustment knob. It's mounted on the solenoid for the exhaust valve on the left hand side just under the tank.

    • @sagarinxs
      @sagarinxs 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MikesMachines Thanks so much for your response pal. But that knob doesn't help as like I mentioned that the RPM's drop down 'Sometimes' and Not all the time, and sounds as if the bike may stall. so I have to Rev UP the engine to avoid stalling. This is an issue and the mechanics here in India can't fix it. Their laptop also doesn't connect to the App because of some issues and Benelli China is not helping them out. One guy told me that the Throttle body maybe changed to resolve the issue, which is an expensive repair on a New bike, makes no sense to me. Since you're an expert and the guy in this video may be of some help and may know Exactly what the issue is here... PLEASE HELP Mike!!! You're my last resort pal!! You can connect with me via whatsapp if you can (011-91-9760113833 India cell). Or you can email me: jcoolseak a t g m ail. Thanks again in advance.
