ManzaZappers BB-9E's body is made from a dark translucent plastic, which is only apparent when its internal multicoloured LED lights up. Most of the time it appears opaque.
I don't think so, this BB9-E has a glossy finish again. Maybe there will be a more movie like version later; I'd ait for that. I liked the battleworn BB8 better than the original glossy one. BB9-E has that inductive head, who knows if it's waterproof now.. with BB8 water did no harm to the head. Also the internals are much the same. Stabilization will still be wobbly as hell and it will surely bug out like BB8 spinning around randomly... hate that they didnt fix that bug yet. There are added microchips for droid detection on the circuit board from what I've read. Other than that it has different sounds.. sadly not coming from the head again :(

I think it can do voice recognition, sure.. the new app has the same features for BB8 and BB9-E. Hmm that's a personal descision; I'd pick BB8 all day! I'm a big fan, and I haven't seen anything from BB9-E in a movie yet ;) It seems like BB9-E is a forced attempt for having more BB8 scenes in the new movie. Who knows how they will turn out. But I like the look of BB8 personally. I tell you this, go to amazon warehouse deals and you can get the latest version of BB8 (the battleworn BB8 + forceband) for around 100$ used... I have done so myself and it was in perfect condition. If you like the glossy version more, then pick that one, or order both and send one back ;)

cody price No, only the Sphero R2-D2 features an integrated speaker. As with the Sphero BB-8, BB-9E's sounds actually come from the app
