The problem I have, is I plan ahead most of my stops. Therefore, I don't use much brakes. We were doing a club ride, and the car behind me told me my brake lights weren't working. So when I pushed them hard, they worked. I wasn't using enough pressure to activate the pressure switches. I made my own kit, but this kit is the trick.
Have you guys done a tutorial on how to wire in the electric brake switch? Or do you know where I can find a tutorial on it? I have some written directions that came with the kit but I do a lot better if I can see what somebody else is doing.
My problem is the brakes dont light up when I hit the brakes, the bulbs are good I have a 1969 Bug. If I turn the lights on the lights come on but no brake lights.
Hey Salty, newly back into the oldskool vw scene... just picked up a 72 ghia... if your near central tennessee lmk, can have a beer and talk bugs perhaps (and likely run some stupid shtiff my Hhia is doing that I cant quite get my head wrapped around yet.) Good news though - its very drive-able - a rolling restoration / customization if you will.
Thanks for uploading this. I’ve been having the same issues with my 66. I just ordered it
