I love your planeswalker vidoes, your Liliana story breakdown was brilliant and I love the deep-dive into Sorin. I think Vraska would be a great planeswalker to visit next. I find her fascinating!
The character of avacyn, and her story, is one of my absolute favorite in all of magic. The story of sorin is intrinsically bound to avacyn. I was always fascinated at the dichotomy that existed within sorin, a selfish being who willing chose ostracization and social exile for the good of both his plane and his species. Without them knowing, and without thanks. The vampire community couldn’t fathom the horrors that waited beyond the planes, and couldn’t understand why sorin would so callously implement a roadblock to their food source. But sorin knew it needed to be done. Anguished unmaking is probably my favorite card lore wise; the art (especially that promo one that is from avacyn’s perspective), the flavor text, everything that led up to it, the implications of it. Even tho it meant the death of my favorite character. Reading that aspect of the magic story, told from sorin’s eyes, was so heartbreaking, hearing about the anguish (hence the name) that went into that act, but as a reader, was so rich. I wasn’t aware of sorin’s recent penitence, and I don’t know how I feel about it. It feels like a departure from his character. Part of what I like about his character was his apathy to anyone that wasn’t him, paired with a begrudging care for the world as a whole. Excellent as always
Sorin Markov was my introduction to Magic. I was playing DnD with a friend and when I mentioned how much I love vampires, he told me about a new "vampire deck", Sorin's planeswalker deck from Core Set 2020. From their learned about Avacyn and Anguished Unmaking is my favorite card to this day. Almost 5 years later my Vampire and Angel Tribal decks are some of my most prised possessions
I still think an animated MTG series would be an absolute mega hit. The sheer amount and rich stories this universe is almost as vast as Warhammer 40k, which says a lot.
Sorin Markov: incredible character, capable Planeswalker and a blessing to any Vampire deck in game..... but good lord, my man can not catch a break, can he?
Sarkhan has bad luck as well. Although we haven't seen him since he became a Temur colored walker & was unbound from Nicol Bolas influences. I hope he still has a spark and that we will see him in Tarkir during the return. He was the very first planeswalker with no abilities that added loyalty lol.
I love his combo with Astarion my friend has a vampire deck centered around sorin shes the one who got me into both mtg and bg3 and she calls the combo with sorin and Astarion the gay lovers combo and I ship it
As for Sorin's feud with Nahari I am completely on Sorin's side and want her dead. I was a big fan of Avacyn, her church and the Wolfir and because of her we basically lost all 3. (sure the church is still there but it's a shadow of it's former self and the witches have replaced it in the people's eyes it seems)
She is too hotheaded. I understand part of her doings but she went too far when building cryptoliths in Nephalia to pull Emrakul to Innistrad. That want to hurt and pain inside her was between Her & Sorin. She killed and disfigured so many innocent people already trying to scrap by & through her doings, caused the only hope the people had to go crazy and Sorin had to kill the thing he thought would bring love and hope to his plane. (Acacyn) She needed to lose her spark & I am glad it was done at her own hands & wasn't like Tyvar, who just woke up without one. I am glad. We havent officially seen Sorin since the March of Machines but I hope he kept his spark.
I mean, Nahiri definitely isn’t justified in her actions but it sounds like they could have been avoided if Sorin wasn’t so cavalier about her plight to a *multiverse level threat.* All he had to do was go check things out and at least act like he gave a damn about his former mentee.
Midnight hunt was released in 2021. Almost no new lore about Innistrad but that is how it goes. Although, we know olivio, gitrog, and others were on thunder junction.
I hope the next time we get a set like Commander Masters or Modern Masters that we will have more flip-walkers. I'd love to see Sarkhan, Tezzeret, Nahiri, Ugin & Saheeli or Teferi get them. Tezzeret is and will always be my favorite MTG character. From young hurt boy... to Etherium Academy Student who replaced his own arm and rib area with etherium he stole... to planeswalker running the infinite consortium. I love and feel for his character sometimes. I am so happy he got the Darksteel body he tricked the Phyrexians for & got the portal which was killing him removed.
Enough was printed on flavor to know that Sorin had created Avacyn, and depict his "anguish in unmaking her." But... dude, adding that layer of "Father-Daughter" and the hurt from her last words... I'm not crying, you're crying...
Which character do you want to learn about next?
Do one of Freyalise, Please.
I think Tamiyo is super interesting
I’d really like to see Nissa’s story be done. I think her growth and changes are really great for a story.
How about an old school character like Jeska?

Brilliant video. These lore videos are great for new players like myself to catch up on all the story that we've missed

Yes! More MTG, please. A video on Nissa Revane would be awesome.
My D&D campaign currently has Sorin as an NPC so this video came right on time as a refresher.
I was just thinking he sounds like a good BBEG
