  • "We are a country of hypocrites. We keep talking about our country being diverse in culture, art, language; the fact of the matter is we don't consider art a necessary aspect of our social living, we don't consider this as an everyday thing."
    - T M Krishna
He's the gifted insider who hit public consciousness when he began to deconstruct the world of classical music and its many hierarchies, one venerable pillar at a time. A Magsaysay award winner for 2016, he takes on the most crucial public questions - of art and justice, hierarchy and culture, tradition and freedom.
Watch TM Krishna on fire as he talks about his fascinating relationship with music and singing; his controversial book, Sebastian and Sons; the ruptures within ideas of beauty and aesthetics; and why his masterclass on music demands fearlessness.

Social awareness and clarity of thought of TM is always surprising. So far only maestro who is actually asking some genuine and bold questions.

Is there anyway the interviewer's questions can be made more clear and audible? And what's with the cutout look.. as though she's a cardboard cutout speaking? Why can't she be shown in a normal setting like TMK?

He seems like a leftist activist reviving old days caste issue again. Today no Dalits are barred from temples.

@@shreenathanarayana1512 You have made two shitty comments now without any explanation, but you want an explanation from others? Seriously? Is this the range of your intellect - that you keep flinging shit and hope some of it sticks, somehow, somewhere? Is this the clarity of thought you are demonstrating? Have you written any critical review ever in your life? Forget writing, have you read any rational critical review, ever? If not, start now and demonstrate you have the intelligence to understand a rational argument and the ability to make one. I will give you the explanation you seek, then, without any hesitation. But my breath is not bated.

@@sixthsense66able Sorry. I should not have got into this shithole that confuses music with communism and equality. Bring up some nonsense and find a solution. I will let the intellectuals deal with it. Me with moronic brains will stick to pure music. I will be removing my comments. You enjoy your confusion called TM Krishna.

@@shreenathanarayana1512 Yes. You should let those with some intellect deal with it cause anything intellectual will certainly confuse you. Enjoy your "pure" music, whatever that means.
