Is it just me? Are we heading back to the 80s and 90s? We used to call this pancake makeup and i loved it! Between this and the resurgence of body sprays, nostalgia is hitting me in waves. Thanks for this review Alicia, I was so curious and I am more interested than ever in buying after your in depth review. Would love to know how it works out for you during humid days, so I will keep an eye out for your May wrap up.
STUNNING!!! I use to get so many compliments when I used MAC fix + plus foundation powder. After about an hour of applying my makeup, people always swore I wasn't wearing any makeup and that I had perfect skin. I'm a die hard fan of having the right tools. I could kill for your brush collection. Love your passion for all things beauty. You look absolutely beautiful. Hairstyle and all ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love every time you say “Poof” it tickles me. I ordered this because I’m obsessed with filtered matte creating powders and this looks promising. I ordered this lightest shade available so I’m curious if it will work and match me since I’m very cool and it looked neutral.
Hi Alicia, thank you for teaching me how to apply the powder foundation properly! 🙏 I was going to buy that one, but I purchased the MUFE powder foundation, it's cheaper and it's said to be similar (I haven't tried it yet). I'm obsessed with the Divine Skin Essence too!!! 🌸🩷 Well, I'm obsessed with many products from Pat McGrath... 🙄 The Natasha Denona foundation looks great on you ✨ Greetings from Genoa Italy ❤️🇮🇹
I ordered this foundation yesterday. I have no idea how or why but this product had me at hello. I never buy a product when it first launches...but this foundations intrigues me. I can't wait to try it! All the products look amazing on you!!!!
You ran that powder foundation through the wringer and it still held up. Very impressive. I haven't used a powder foundation before but this one has me curious and eagerly waiting for the reviews from the oily skinned people.
Yes! And I think powder foundations work best on oily skin types, as the oils that do break through end up creating a natural skin finish when mixed with the powder.
Thank you for an in depth review, as always. And that shade match is 👌 I find that setting spray helps "meld" powder foundations with the skin. I love how it looks when you put it over the Dior Glow 👌 A brush definitely gives a better application result. But the puffs are great for touch ups if needed. Curious how it will wear during your workout & in sweaty, humid conditions. I'll definitely be picking this one up. I've recently found a new appreciation for powder foundations, for that "my skin but better" and quick application. My combo skin in humid Sydney is loving them. Would love to see your wear test before I take the plunge on this one though.
Definitely love the fact that you felt that the brush was the better tool to apply this powder foundation. Your skin is flawless!! What would you recommend for my second concealer choice? At Ulta, the sales associate suggested Y4 so I use that in the inner corner of my eyes but what shade for the rest of my face? I’d appreciate your suggestion/input…🤔
Alicia, I liked the side with the puff at first as it seemed to give more coverage. Yet, there's no point in using an application method that doesn't make you happy and in the end, it looked very nice indeed. I do like to stick to one brand with my foundation products, (Burberry), although I'm happy to try something else if it gives a great result, despite using mainly powder and concealer. I'm so tempted by the Star Filter but staying with my 'low-buy with exceptions'. I get what you mean about the Hy-Glam Powder, as even I jumped back when it was applied. Unfortunately, I don't own it, so can't help you out with that one. I've used powder foundations in the past that just made my skin look flat. Now, we have endless products to make our skin glow, look velvety, matte, blur or whatever takes our fancy. Did you ever try the MUFE Foundation? I'm so tempted by the Star Filter and now this ND Powdered Foundation but will use my will power to resist! I have to admit that I'm one who has trouble understanding not using skincare, as I'm into mine every day or else I definitely notice a difference. When you get more mature in years, you'll understand the importance of eye creams and serums when desperation sets in! The best thing I ever did for my skin was to stop wearing foundation. I only wear it on a very rare occasion. As I was in my late 20s, it's had plenty of time to recuperate now and my skin looks so good that others are surprised when I state that I don't wear it, as they think I do. I do like the natural look you've done in this video. I tend to tone things down when the weather warms up and just want a natural look that's quick and easy, although it's getting cooler down here with Winter next month - already! Take care, Kris.🇦🇺💖👩🏼🎨
Hey Kris! I haven’t used the MUFE, but know that their powder products are also top tier. And I’m not opposed to an eye cream 🙆🏽♀️ but will probably use the simplest one down the road. The Star filter at least is permanent! So we have time, especially if it goes in sale at some point. The skincare evolution for me was most potent when understanding how skin is supposed to look like naturally-a dry touch type of feel. The dewy, smooth, shiny texture is because of skincare, and coveted now due to social media. But the skin is not designed to appear that way. Also, it’s an excretory organ, which means it’s designed to eliminate and not absorb. All these ingredients that skincare companies claim that will make a difference ultimately don’t, because they’re not getting through. You can argue that I still use skincare-jojoba oil to take off my makeup, lye soap to cleanse, and Vaseline to treat. But that’s it 😅🫣
@@aliciaarcher As long as you're happy with what you use on your skin is all that matters. I definitely know about the skin secreting, as mine did this with loads of oil when younger. I eventually grew out of this and now my skin is 'regular' (no issues). I despised having oily skin but now I'm grateful for what it's done for me at this age. TH-cam has destroyed what our natural appearance should be. Even with make-up, it was designed to enhance our features, not overtake them and change us completely. There are some Content Creators with skin that has the texture of a refrigerator! They've polished and peeled everything that is meant to protect the skin away. They look so unnatural. Have you looked into trying the plant of Aloe Vera? It's the most amazing healing item I could recommend for the entire body. I'm never without a fresh plant growing and just break off a juicy leaf when needed and will slice it open to get out the gel to use on what it's required for. I even used this on my two German Shepherds for any wounds or cuts etc. I'm not sure whether you'd like gardening, but I used to have a small herb garden in pots and made up my own tea when feeling a tad sluggish. It's nice to go back to nature and try something different than the manufactured products that are constantly pushed at us. If only you were an adult in the early 90s! That's when the healthy lifestyle took over and everyone appeared much more mellow than today. I don't know if I could say that for NYC though, the city that never sleeps. At least women started wearing runners to work and changing into the more uncomfortable work shoes upon arrival. I hope this hasn't changed. I only use a light skincare regime as I don't need anything more. It's more to do with keeping the skin cleansed and moisturised due to being more mature and not in any rush to see wrinkles appearing. I've held them away for all of this time and they're not coming anytime soon if I have my way. Unfortunately, we loose collagen as we age and the elasticity of our skin. Considering my health is disastrous, I'm at least going to do my best to look decent! Take care Alicia.💖
YES! I was waiting for this video! That foundation powder looks gorgeous on you. I was thinking of picking up that powder foundation and now thanks to you Alicia I will! I too am medium neutral in skin tone and will try that same shade. I usually wear powder foundations for the summer because my skin is on the oily side. Have you ever used or tried The Palm Brush by Artis? That is usually what I apply my powder foundation with because I’m lazy and the brush covers such a large area. 😆 I have replaced a lot of my older natural hair brushes with some Japanese brushes like Sonia.G and Rephr. If I were to switch out my Artis brush which brush would you recommend? That larger brush looked amazing. 😊
I have to keep trying this powder as it didn't make me happy on my first wear. I did the puff on one side and brush on other, prepped my skin well but it just wasn't giving. I definitely preferred the brush side to puff side but it definitely still broke up on me quite a bit for a powder and me being a dry skin girl---also with serious allergies to plant blooming season 😅 I am excited to see how far she takes the Hy-Glam series. Beautifier I'm still iffy on, but I love ND so I'll keep trying. Fantastic shade match on you!!! Also, agree with how creams work over the powder! It did perform well when I tried concealer over the order on one side. XO 🌸
Maybe it would serve you better as a setting moment? Lightly brushed on a liquid foundation to provide a touch more coverage, and holding power? But I agree, generally powder foundations are trickier on dryer skin types.
Hi! This is totally unrelated, but did you see Dame PMG’s new Darth Vader bag? It comes with the same eye shadow palettes she released before. I would love to get it, but I can’t justify the price of the kit. I am going to watch this video a little later tonight.
Oh this looks promising Alicia ! 😅 this is the maybe 3rd video I’ve seen that’s overall positive 😊 I’m a powder foundation gal (ease of use & application & longevity) but some I’ve tried weren’t great (FENTY 😩😭) & I go back to my beloved OG MAC studio fix powder … so this one I really want to try ❤ it looked perfect on you Alicia ! Loved it & glad you tried all the different formulas on the cheeks 🎉 ps … YASSSS on using momma pats essence (which I love) or the Dior Star filter (I have it & need to try it) under the ND powder foundation 😌
Would you say you’re on your winter shade right now? We are similar shade but I prefer 035 on suqqu than 040. So I am wondering if NP10 would be a good match and I don’t like looking too tan 🧐 this is the best shade match on you from face to body I have seen! And I feel you when you said we wish to be golden lmao, it’s been a decade I been running around with golden yellow face only to find out now I am more neutral/olive 😂
I would, yes! Winter shade leaning now, but I think NP10 would still work. Funny, if I go up a shade, I might have to go golden because the neutral undertone tends to look like mud 🙃
Maybe ask if ND is a zionist... I have bought her palettes previously but some things that have come out that dont sit well in my spirit. I am going to HUDA ..
Isn’t an essence considered skincare? I’m so confused how you say you don’t use skin care which is completely your choice but then use an essence which is skincare
To clarify-I don’t have a dedicated skincare routine. Meaning, I apply the essence to prep, apply makeup, but take everything off and apply some Vaseline. I use jojoba oil to take off makeup, and wash with a lye based soap. That could be considered skincare, but in the beauty space now, it’s barely a routine 🤣 I no longer use dedicated cleansers, essences, toners, serums, or moisturizers for day and night. At this point in time, I treat skincare products like I do makeup products, and remove everything.
@@Catwoman-111-b2z my pleasure! Yes, I truly think we all need to go back to cleanse, moisturize, treatment if something is prescribed, and spf. All these steps in between have gotten out of hand 😮💨
I have a job where I am dealing with the public. I also sweat a lot through the course of the day. I am searching for a complexion product that gives good coverage but doesn't move. I don't have time for touch ups. Suggestions?
Dior star filter under: Danessa Myricks balms (she has universal or the color version is available), Urban Decay new foundation, or the Haus labs foundation. Use Kosas or CT powder to set. ❤
I’d like a powder foundation compact like this, but with a radiant finish. I’ve very dry skin and, basically, almost any foundation becomes matte on my skin after a while, even the ones meant to be glowy or dewy. I always have to spray on some MAC Fix+ or a similar product to give me glow after a foundation has dried on my complexion. Does anybody have a recommendation of a product like that? Not loose powder, but a radiant powder foundation on a pan. I’ve used MAC Mineralize Skinfinish like a foundation before, buffed on freshly moisturized skin, and it’s beautiful, but still it’s not a proper foundation (like the name says, it’s more like a finishing powder).
@@aliciaarcher Hopefully, thanks to new makeup technologies there will soon be a radiant pressed powder foundation formulated specifically for drier skin ❤️
I view the puff as more for touch ups
For sure!
I really liked that you applied the cream products on top of foundation power. I didn’t know you can do that and makes me more excited to get it

Brush for sure. The puff side looks like powder is just sitting on top of your skin. The brush feels like pigment is dispersed.
