Please note that it's *not* necessary to request the stop on a tram, because these *must* stop at each station (unlike busses). You need to press the button however to get your doors to open.
The mvv actually only provides the bus service for the rural areas around Munich. The busses as well as the Trams and U-Bahn (Metro/Subway) are from the MVG and the S-Bahn is by DB(Deutsche Bahn). But no worries you can use the tickets interchangeably as long as you don't go outside the area shown on the S-Bahn Map.
@dasomsiihd6388 you're wrong. The MVV doesnt operate any busses or vehicles in general. It's just an organisational company who manages all the operating companies, tariff and so on. One of these companies who actually has vehicles is the MVG responsible for Trams, Subways and Bus lines within Munich. S-Bahn is operated by DB. Regional busses belong to different bus companies.
Thanks for the video! It’s very helpful and detailed, especially the ticket validation part. Some videos I watched previously miss that part. So you saved 60 euro for me :p
There are two ways: At some machines the tickets are already validated (in Busses for examples), or you can find stamp machines at station if youre tickets are not validated yet
You CAN use regional mainline trains (RB, RE, IRE) with your MVV ticket within its area of validity but NOT the long-distance trains (IC, EC, ICE, RJ, TGV).
Great video with many details. Just one suggestion perhaps for later videos, you don't have to show the different lines by jumping around on the map with the different symbols - I find it a bit hard on my eyes. cheers!
This is the best explanation of the Munich public transportation system. Thank you for making this video.

Hi! The online ticket must also be validated?
Like in s bahn we should keep our eye on the oother end destination poinyt for u bahn too right !
Some s-bahn lines will run in a 10minute interval during rush hour
thanks for letting me know, this is great info :)
Can you purchase tram, s bahn or u bahn tickets or regional train tickets from the machine using a credit card.?
Can I have a digital monthly pass to use these? Or do i need a printout?
Can I use German pass for S bahn ?

Pour les trains, on ne doit pas s’affoler comme en France !
Le quai est indiqué pour 6mois ! Et non pas 15 mn avant le départ du train
Quincy Drives
Thank you!
