If you liked and enjoyed the *treasure hunting* in this movie? You should definitely watch *National Treasure (2004)*
Or the sequel to this movie *Angels & Demons (2009)*
National Treasure was really good, except for Riley. I wanted Ian to shoot him.... 😄
There are two sequels to this movie. Angels and Demons, and Inferno
haha oh nooo :P I love Riley! @@Stogie2112
Angels and Demons came first as a book, and I still don't know if I like the theatrical order better 🤔
Angels & Demons is a prequel.
I'm not usually a conspiracy theorist, however the book the "The Davinci Code" is originally based on, "The Holy Blood and The Holy Grail" is a fascinating read.
But also proven to be completely bogus. Not saying it was the authors fault, but if he believed what he wrote then he fell prey to one of the greatest cons in history.
He based his book on the historical findings of Peirre Planard who in 1961 who claimed he discovered the evidence of the ancient and secret organization The Priory of Scion of which he, Plantard was a descendent of the Jesus/Mary Magdeline bloodline. Plantard pulled off one of the greatest amd intricate hoax in history. He had historical documents forged, planted them throughout Europe in libraries in churches that have been around since the middle ages and completely fabricated and created the Priory of Scion including it prestigious members like De Vinci. The Priory of Scion never existed.
In 1989 Plantard admitted to the hoax when his house was searched by French law enforcement, related to a different con game he was running, and turned up a hoard of false documents, including some proclaiming Plantard the true king of France. Plantard admitted under oath he had fabricated everything, including the Priory of Sion.
Plantard then in a BBC interview said everything in the book
Holy Blood, Holy Grail was fiction.
Decade after first seeing this movie the ending still gives me chills. I rewatched it as a kid so many times despite not understanding the plot fully at the time. I still remember the final poem perfectly, in both English and my native language.
I was dying at "SHUT UP" at the two men arguing over Constantine
I read this book when a friend forced it to me (I had a three months old kid, so working full time, helping my wife with the baby was not the best time to read an almost 700 pages novel), and I'm glad he did. I loved the book.
While I was reading the book I was thinking it would be impossible to make it into a movie. I was thinking "I am on page 490 of a story that started at night and it is not dawn yet, how could they put so many things into a movie? So, when I saw they made it into a movie I was expecting already to cut out a lot, but I liked the movie, and I liked it a lot. They managed to keep the essence, the visuals they add like when they are presenting the Last Supper or when Langdon starts thinking into the puzzle help the audience understand, I think they did a great job, and the only thing I would change, I would add some digitalization of a knight armor and sword when Langdon kneels in front of the area where he realized the sarcophagus is kept, to emphasize his worthiness of the quest for the Holy Grail. Other than that, I think it was a great adaptation.
Ron Howard is an American icon. We all grew up watching him on one of the best TV shows ever, Happy Days.
I thought you were gonna say The Andy Griffith Show
23:30 Hugo is back 👍 I really like this nice dog 😊😊😊
There aren't many people reacting to this movie unfortunately. I love it and I also loved the book even though so many things are different. Great reaction! 👍
"Tea, Earl Grey, Hot"
-- Jean-Luc Picard
In The Sopranos (one of the later seasons) there was a lil joke that this movie was sacrilegious, that lil sequence with the joke always makes me laugh
"Turn the lights on!" - Mark Kerdode
I'd forgotten how silly this movie is.
This was actually based on what was an extremely popular book back in the early 2000s. My mother wouldn't shut up about it. I waited for the film. After watching the film though I was left feeling that it probably read better than it played on screen. There was so much dialogue, so much explanation required that it kind of killed it for me as a cinematic experience.
Earl Grey also goes nicely with steamed milk and a splash of simple syrup. It's called a London Fog.
Love this flick. The music at the end when Robert finds Mary is greatness, very emotional. Long live Hans Zimmer.
It's called Chevalier de Sangreal, if you want to listen to it. There's a looped version here in TH-cam that I occasionally play while typing away on my computer.
nice reference to seven lol
Paul Bettany's character is what they call a flagellant. Some people show their devotion to God by whipping themselves. It's a reference to how Christ was flagellated before he was crucified and the practice has been around for about 1,000 years if not more. The whip is uses is called a discipline.
This movie is actually quite nice. It has two sequels which also have Tom Hanks' character in it: Angels & Demons and Inferno. However, all of these movies are based on books and the book order is a bit different as Angels & Demons is the first novel and The Da Vinci Code the 2nd. The 3rd book is called The Lost Symbol and Inferno is the fourth book in this series, with Origin being the 5th and so far last book in the Robert Langdon series. So if you want to read the books too then that's the order. There are also two other standalone novels by Dan Brown Digital Fortress and Deception Point. They are not connected to the Robert Langdon series but one of the Robert Langdon books has an easter egg in it.
Darkened car windows are called " tints" my love! 😝
7:28 Oh, _there_ we go. A high-speed car chase in a _smart_ car. 😄
"The Holy Grail, I know this one ... Monty Python"
This is why I love you Dasha!!!!
"Three questions to meet an old friend"
WOW!!! NObody is doing this flick, THANK you, Dasha.
It's one of my guilty pleasures, lol.
After the success of this, they made a sequel ...prequel actually since the book was written before the DaVinci code. Called Angels and Demons. It has many of the same elements... conspiracy theories, secret societies, treasure hunt etc. It's a good film if you want more of this.
And if you want something COMPLETELY different, check out Ron Howard & Tom Hanks FIRST collaboration: Splash!
There's three films, all based on the highly popular books.
We have to introduce a new rating for this sort of complicated, twisty movie: betrayals per hour. "The plot moves along at a brisk 15 BPH".
#PaulBettany deserves an #Oscar!
He is in "A Knights Tale" with Heath Ledger. He is the voice of J.A.R.V.I.S. and Ultron in the MCU ... ... He is just PHENOMENAL!!
This one is my fav movie, thanks for your reaction ❤❤❤
Keep up the great work Dasha!
I really liked this movie, I had to watch it twice because I was too young the first time I saw it, to understand everything!
If Mary Magdalen had a kid, who had kids who had kids etc, every person of European decent, and many people of African, Asian, and Middle Eastern ancestry would be a direct decendant of Jesus.
In fact, for Europe, you only have to go back to the year 1000, for every person alive at the time, to be a direct ancestor of every person of European ancestry alive today.
Great reaction Dasha keep them coming
You are the most charming reactor I have found so far. Thank you.😊
I hope you watch "Angels & Demons" after this. It wasn't as good as this movie (or as good as the book version), but it was still very entertaining. It has a lot of mystery/treasure hunting like this, but it deals with a ton of art, sculptures, etc in Italy. If you liked this I think you'll really enjoy watching that. I wasn't as big of a fan of "Inferno" because I thought the plot was a bit odd, but it still wasn't terrible either.
You might not recognize the actor that plays the assassin that tortures himself is also Vision/Jarvis in the Marvel movies
Take it you didn't watch the video, she stated Paul Bettany was in it right at the start.
The actress is Audrey Tautou and I like this movie just cuz of her, the book is much better. You should watch 2001 movie Amelie with Audrey Tautou, it's one of best French movies.
Loved watching you try and puzzle it all out 🥰
Hi Dasha. You were in great form for this one. Loved it.
Great reaction Dasha! I really luv this movie. The book is just as good. I hope you do the other Robert Langdon movies. "Angel's & demons and Inferno" luv ya Dasha ❤💛
The book is such a great read. I read it in a weekend; I literally couldn't put it down, I had to read 'just one more chapter, just one more'. Dan Brown is a great author; although I didn't care for his first novel, I've very much enjoyed all the rest 📚
You are the first channel that I've seen that has reacted to this movie in the reaction format. I can guarantee more will react to it but remember you are the first. I really hope you watch the 2nd movie Angels and demons. It's also a really good race against time thriller
I really love the end of this movie. The way Ron Howard directed the very final few minutes, I always get the chills.
"They are... acquaintances for murder?"
The word you are looking for is accomplices. I get it. English is a weird language.
One of the most incredible movies I have ever seen. The suspense and tension is intense. I was literally sitting on the edge for the whole movie... watching this.
Since you loved this movie so much you must watch the rest of the Trilogy - yes its a trilogy!!! the next one is "Angels & Demons" then "Inferno"
I also agree you would definitely like "National Treasure"
For a more Fun Light hearted hunt watch "The Mummy" Trilogy
Definitely watch Angels and Demons too. Another great movie from this “universe”.
"... religious role doesn't it mean you can't kill?"
No. The scene where he's hurting himself is an insane ritual that some of the most fundamental sects of Christianity inflict on themselves. He's punishing himself for future sins. Building credit. So he can sin, knowing he's already paid the penance for it. It was never commonly done, but when it was, these people would build credit in advance so their superiors could use them to assassinate inconvenient people. The amount of suffering they would have to inflict on themselves to pay for a murder changed based on how cruel their superiors were and how masochistic the murderer was.
The more I learn about history, the more I'm thankful that I'm living in a peaceful country like Australia in a period of time where we have all our modern conveniences and technology.
The logic is that the more you suffer for your faith the better! Also make everybody else suffer even better!
11:33 "what's in the box?"
tracy? 🤔
I spent the entire film gazing at Audrey Tautou.... 😍😍😍
11:22 I'm pretty sure the employee is standing outside watching the camera and waiting. If they put the correct code then he gets the escape route ready, but if they put in the wrong one he will skip-to-my-lou through the hallways with glee to turn the frauds in to the police. As a man also committed to doing the job I was hired to do, I would also do either of those things with equal enthusiasm. To help you or throw you to the wolves.... ehhh I don't really care either way. It's just business, amiright?
That's a good one... and since we have Jurgen Prochnow here , I would recommend "Das Boot" (1981) 🎬👍🙂
The whipping is called flagellation and it is an action of religious devotion, though not as common now and days. It is to inflict suffering in order to experience pain inflicted on religious figures and to punish yourself for your sins.
A great under rated Mystery, Suspense, Thriller with a touch of Horror that would be good for Halloween month is "Angel Heart"! I have not seen anyone react to this movie yet...
Finally somebody react this movie and I'm very happy that it is you! Great reaction and great movie! Amazing soundtrack too! Yes check out the sequals! I bet that you also like National Treasure movies😊
Tom Hanks concentrating real hard carries the Robert Langdon trilogy 😅 but his voice is so soothing, I don't mind listening to him ramble
Great reaction. I think they did a great job adapting the book. They changed a couple things but it made for a better movie. To do the book in full detail, the movie would have had to be 6 hours long. I like the Ron Howard/ Dan Brown/ Tom Hanks trilogy of movies quite a bit and I hope you will do all 3. This is the first reaction I've seen to these films and I hope that you start a trend. 5 stars for you!
I love your reactions: you're invested, observant, astute, brilliant and... immeasurably cute. Славянская душа в груди, серьезный ум и прекрасная улыбка. Как не любить??
Ron Howard is one of those directors that has tackled almost every film genre from comedy to drama to sci-fic to thrillers. One of his not so intense films to check out is Parenthood. It'll make you laugh and will warm your heart.
I second Parenthood.
It's odd ... "I don't like Ron's films" ... when they come out.
But they grow on me!!! Every time.
Stellar cast in a ridiculous story in a silly move. The book was extremely badly written, but the puzzles were fascinating, and the descriptions of a lot of famous locations were vivid.
Ian McKellen's character, the one who knows everything, is named "Leigh Teabing." That's a tribute to two authors who wrote one book, "Holy Blood, Holy Grail." One author was Richard Leigh, while the other was Michael Baigent, and Teabing, T-E-A-B-I-N-G, is an anagram of Baigent, B-A-I-G-E-N-T. I do like how some of the clues go, like the reference to Pope not being to an actual Pope but to the poet named Alexander Pope. The albino monk, Silas, went on to play Vision in the movie Avengers: Age of Ultron. There's another movie about a woman descended from Christ, it's called Dogma, but it's a comedy, it's very wacky and crazy, I like it, but I recommend it cautiously. I do enjoy the music for this. Thanks, Dasha!
Loved the reaction
4:34 thanks I love your accent too
"Angels & Demons' Please! Amazing follow up from the same Novels.
Girl, great reaction to this controversial film.
Ambiance is a very nice word. 😁
All 3 are really good
Great movie & a great movie for you Dasha because it had everything in it for you ... loved your reaction
A great movie! One of my favourites actually. 😊
It's great to see that Sir Leigh Teabing is played by Gandalf.
Hate to be a student in his class.... "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!!!"

One of my favorite movies. You did a great job of reacting to it. Keep-up the good work. ❤
When I first saw Audrey Tautou in this movie, I thought she had the most beautiful face ever.
Dasha, Ron Howard stars in the movie American Graffiti, along with a lot of actors who were unknowns at the time, but became famous later. It would be a terrific movie for you to react to.
Audrey Tautou had her breakthrough with the French movie "Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain", or short "Amélie" (2001).
Already fell in love with her that time, should be a must watch for Dasha, too.
She did some moere interesting roles later, e.g. Coco Chanel in a biopic movie.
21:15 when flying in a private plane you can change your course easy. Depending id you are flying VFR or with ATC and flying IFR. Either eay even with ATC you can just tell them you are diverting. Just need to let them know you are changing course and get the OK from them for that change making sure that you are not heading into another flight path. Airlines really cannot as they fly routes, much like a bus or a train. They can divert, but thay is usually for emergencies and the airline company authorizes it and the fuel is available as they carry fuel based on their destination. A plane may not be "topped off" with fuel like you do with a car, especially if its a local flight. Really long distance flights like NY to CA would be a more full tank.
Read the books for this series, many years ago. So fricken love them(excuse the french). Maybe you will do the others at a later stage. Glad you this movie though. Take care
I believe you are more than smart 🤓 enough to go on treasure hunts. Please don't put yourself down. Notice how old these "experts" are. Keep learning everything you can and you will find your treasure. :)
Love this movie and the soundtrack 🎶🎶🎶
There is hardly any reactions to this movie and its fantastic
At the beginning what that man was doing to himself is known as chastising. Inflicting suffering upon oneself to appease for ones sins. It is very religious and not as common as it once was
Great reaction, Dasha. I love this movie. You should now watch the sequel, Angels and Demons, also directed by Ron Howard.
tom hanks had to answer 3 questions to gain entrance to see his friend. Dashochka, do you know another holy grail movie where 3 questions had to be answered as part of the plot?
The history presented by the book and movie is largely manipulated or outright wrong, but still, the movie is a fun watch, and Hans Zimmer's score is fantastic. Good selection.
Dasha, what did you think of Gandalf and Vision being the villains in this movie? I think this movie is wonderful. Even better than the book that was so successful. That final scene gives me goosebumps to this day.
You forgot Dr. Octopus…
I loved this Book…
6:08 "I remember, we were learning about Fibonacci in _math_ class, in _school._ In _high_ school. But... that's all I remember. Just the name."
😳 Huh. So they actually had a way to teach him to you in such a way that you remember the _most insignificant part_ about this scholar. You don't remember the _cool_ stuff.
See, Fibonacci was a mathematician. He came up with this sequence of numbers in which every _two_ sequential numbers adds up to the one right _after_ them.
So consider how it starts. 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13... The first digit (1) and the second (1) add up to the _third (2)._ The second (1) and the third (2) add up to the _fourth (3)._ The third (2) and the fourth (3) add up to the _fifth (5)._ See how this works out?
_This_ is the sequence Dr. Langdon is seeing and using.
Since the Knights Templar is what inspired George Lucas to create the Jedi in Star Wars, I'm going to assume you wearing a Darth Vader shirt purely a coincident.
"I like how it has perfect symmetry." Including the two chalices - the inverted V's - pointing at each other at the Louvre under which she lay. Perfect symmetry. And the standing chalice next to it in the courtyard, as if to mark the location. Perfection.
In fiction: it means that the Chinese architect IM Pei (the one who built the pyramid) is also a member of the Priory of Sion.
Nice reaction. The book and the movie inspired mass amounts of people going on an adventure hunt to the same places in the book/movie. A lot of people visited France and the Louvre museum just because of the interesting conspiracy theory.
Prrrrrrret prrrrrrrrrret prrrrrrrrrettttttt. Good stuff Dasha....
Yes! I’m so excited u watched this movie! I love it & I know u’ll be into it, too. Can’t wait to watch😘
Great movie!! 👍😎👍💘🥲🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
In the British army, the chevrons on the sleeve point down like a 'V', unlike the US versions.
Rosslyn Chapel is just hr 20mins from where I live
Another great reaction by such a wonderful, beautiful young lady. Thanks for sharing!
Yes, no discretion. In the book the DCPJ approach Langdon in his hotel room.
This story was very controversial when it came out because of how it openly challenged Catholic dogma. I remember seeing the protests when the movie came out.
BTW, Robert & Sophie did hook up at the end of the book though they didn't in the movie.
Before the movie, I was discussing the book with somebody at my work and my very Christian boss was incensed.
There were boycotts called for the movie in some Catholic circles, a few bishops spoke out against it and the The film was rated as "morally offensive" by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishop.
But there were also catholic archbishops embraceed the movie and saw it as a way to open dialog with people about their beliefs.
I, as a Christian- not catholic- loved the book and was recommended to me by my pastor of my church, who is a Dan Brown fan. But there were some people on my church who thought it sacrilegious
At least my pastor understood it to be a work of fiction and was for entertainment.
Great movie. I always enjoy your reactions 😊 You have to watch the second one - Angels & Demons
First there was the book of "The Divinci Code" by Dan brown. I thought it was such a great book. I was a little worried about the movie living up to the book, however, I personally was very happily surprised by how good the film 🎥📽️ was. The next films anr books are just as good. :) I hope you will watch "Angel's and Demons" and "Inferno."
Movie Inferno SUCKS .. Book was milion times better .. mainly because of ending ..
@@Peter_Suhajda I really liked the end of "Inferno."Not to put any spoilers out there, I just thought it was sad in a way.
Angels & Demons next, please❤ We need to see your reaction to the sequel
I love your reactions ❤❤❤❤
Did Ian McKellen say, "You may pass"?
"If you're playing a religious role, you can't really do that"
Religious people have committed some of the worst kind of attrocities
Thriller movie suggestion - "Breakdown" starring Kurt Russell.
I have been to Rosslyn Chappel and witnessed some secret ceremonies there, as well as spoken to one of the decendents of the San Grial, and there is a connection with Rosslyn.
Nice T Shirt. 😊
And right?! How scary is Vision in this?!
