      Well I'm from India and I love African cichlid a lot I am concerned about my cichlid fryies there mother spit them out within one week and you can see tiny fryies with egg yolk sac. I let there mother with them and she is kind of taking care of them.
      What should I do to save those fryies?????

    Richelle do you know what I find most attractive about Cichlids? It is their intelligence. To me they are like water dogs. They can't fetch your slippers and your paper, but they can make you feel better after a day of work. This is an amazing video, you have great patience and obviously love your fish

      Thank you for your beautiful comment. Next up, I'll try training them to fetch the paper!

    Great job Richelle Quite an amazing video to see them coming up from eeggs Is something truly amazing. You put a lot of effort in this video and that camera must be amazing to catch such a close footage really cool

      Thank you Lito. I'm glad you liked my video. I put a lot of work into this one. 😊
      I have a little Sony Handheld camera. It's not the best but it works better than cell phone cameras.
      I would have liked some closer zooms but it couldn't handle the work.

    Cool video. The first time one of my cichlids was holding fish and not eating I transferred her into a separate tank and was amazed by how many fish came out of her mouth! I have never seen premature babies before. Love your Videos. Thanks for posting. Dan Sethner Pittsburgh Pa.

    Awesome video! I love all of your videos! Seeing the development of the fry is great! I have a 90g setup with just a few Yellow Labs and Yellow Fin Blue Asai and there seems to always be some sort of fish love making going on! I have several fry isolated right now but it is hard for me to keep track of these guys...well...it would be easier if they was as pretty as you! But you know...lol...something is always going on in my Mbuna tank!!!

I separate the fry almost right the way and the mother start looking for them, and I just felt so bad, I just don't want her to eat the fry, Thank you.

    Two of my yellow labs are holding since 5 days yayyyy
    But I don't know ANYTHING about how to to strip them when to strip them or even what to do and how to take care of the fry
    Water parameter.. temperature... Feeding ..
    I need a lot of help
    Pls anyone who knows much about this topic can reply

    • @QuebecCichlides
      @QuebecCichlides  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Congratulations on your Labidos. Yay!
      I don't have a video at the moment on how to strip females. You can also leave her in the tank or isolation box to bring her babies to full term :)

    • @Jennifer-bz8ki
      @Jennifer-bz8ki 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@QuebecCichlideslate but I've read a lot about stripping the fry & it's not a good idea to do it the first time they carry & even after that you don't need to.
      The only reason people do the stripping is to hurry up the process so they can breed again faster.
      In my opinion I think letting things happen naturally is best & safer.
      I do remove the mother at about 3-4 weeks so the fry won't be eaten by the other fish

      I’ve never had issues, but I usually collect the eggs after they’ve développée a little bit
      If they’re just eggs, the chances aren’t in your favor

    Hi there, I'm from the Caribbean which is tropical as you may know. Since the climate is already tropical/warm, is there a need for a heater in the aquariums I own? This has kind of been bugging me for a while so I'd really appreciate your input on this

    At what age ( how many months) Africian cichlids start to mate or reproduce ..

    • @QuebecCichlides
      @QuebecCichlides  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the species. Sometimes 6 months - 1 year, sometimes more for the bigger cichlids
