Everytime i watch your videos it mades me desperately want to have those beautiful fish
You are amazing, and a fresh voice about fish and how to take care of them, thanks
Thank you 😊
Your enthusiasm is contagious! Great job! And thank you for educating us.
Thank you Jose. Its always a pleasure 😊
Great video. Lots of people probably don't realize just how much work you do to keep all of this going. Hope your staying cool
Thanks Eric :) The heat wave is supposed to end tonight! I can't wait!
You and me both lol
Congrats Richelle, this is your best and most informative video to date. I always look forward to seeing what you have coming next.
Thanks Jim 😊 I'm glad you liked it.
I'm surprised the video is so popular. I guess that's a cry for more lol.
Your excitement about fish rubs off 🐟 More aquariums for me ☺ I enjoy your time. Thanks
Thank you 😊 I'm glad you liked it.
Haven't seen any new videos in awhile I hope all is well with you. Really enjoyed the videos like this about the hatchery
You have very gorgeos and colorful african cichlids!
I can say I have graduated from being a casual fish keeper with 30-40 gallon tanks to now about to welcome a 150 gallon tank to my home for a African Chiclid setup...nice channel!
Thank you 😁 welcome to the channel.
That's one big level up. Congratulations!

Whoa! Bonne chasse :D
Its so great to see the love you have for your work. i just started a new Mbuna tank, so thankyou for all your video's. I love them.
Thank you 😊
Beautiful fish love your tanks.
New subscriber, I enjoy the behind the scenes look and appreciate you showing what it takes. Amazing operation you have running!
Thanks for subscribing. Welcome to my channel!
This was fascinating! You could wear a little head-cam and show us your entire day.
Your breeding operation is 200 tanks - and then you have all the tanks in the storefront - do you work 18 hour days or do you have a lot of employees?
I didn't realize how big your breeding operation was. Wow! Just... wow!
Thank you for your comment :D
I have 200-ish tanks in all (store included). It's about 100 for each section.
At the moment I have a part time employee that helps out with the food and water changes.
I also have my boyfriend with whom I have the company. He's in charge of clients, finances, the saltwater section and the fancy programming needed for our website. We also work on the big projects together.
I used to work insane hours a day but found that I was doing less in more time. I wasn't working well because I was exhausted. Now I work my 40-ish hours a week and am way more productive than when I was working all the time.
The only times I'll work many extra hours are when I'm in x-treme makeover mode (coming soon). I'll come in on one of my weekend days to get some heavy lifting done without worrying that somebody will walk in and interrupt.
I love your passion! You are busy for sure!
Thank you 😊
Very cool and informative!!!
I love videos like this, it's so fascinating! There is so much involved in breeding fish. I don't know how you guys do it lol. Its a labor of love I'm sure and you seem to really love your fish❤
My electric yellow cichlid just had babies and they're so cute! Thankfully we've got a quarantine tank set up so we took her out when we realized she had a mouth full of eggs and she can just chill alone with her babies and not have to worry about them being eaten by the other fish.
😳 your super busy all the time! Love how you isolate them.🤔 you’ve gotten really good at your vids. I about choked when you said 200 Aquariums!
Thank you 😊 I have an insane amount of aquariums.
Mo' Aquariums, Mo' problems!
Baby mbuna are so cool. I bred psuedotropheus zebras in college, separating the male from the female with a piece of glass. Love your work. Think you’re terrific.
Thank you 😊 It's quite the adventure
You have such a nice setup!!! Keep up all the great work!!✌️☮️🐟
Thank you 😊
You are amazing and inspirational THANKS
Beautiful!!! Oh and the fish are nice too.
Thank you 😊
Beautiful
Great video so cool
Thank you 😁
M feeling exhausted just by watching so many tanks and their day to day tasks..I can imagine how hard it is to manage all these aquariums and to keep every thing running and working in order....
Thank you for your comment. It's a huge job managing a local fish store but you get the hang of the physical work over time and it becomes second nature. The real hard part is managing finances and marketing :P
Love this video, definitely one of my favourites!
Thank you. I'm glad you liked it 😊
I'm so glad I found your channel. Your fish are almost as beautiful as you.
Thank you. Welcome to my channel :)
Saludos desde Barcelona - España !!!, un video muy bueno.

Great job
Thank you :D
nice video coud you make a video wow catht fiche on a decorete aquarium tank you
Stripping fish keeps them healthier. Regain strength faster. Grow faster and develop larger broods of eggs with each future spawning.
Different genus and species of Africans fertilizer eggs to fully formed and fully resorbed yolk sacs occurs over different numbers of days. Also affected by temperatures of water. Can strip them early as 5-7 days. If very careful and can get some egg movement with tumbler or in nets with airstone underneath can even strip as soon as 2-3 days.
Thanks for your comment. I don't strip fish because, even though it would enhance my yield, the females would eventually lose their capacity of holding fish for longer than a week.
Tumblers are a neat gadget but, since I've always had success with my breeder boxes and air stones, I've never tried them.

Hi Richelle, just wanted to ask. What size are your isolation boxes? Need advice on size i should get, thanks 😊😊
This lady is so cute and sweet.. I love her little voice..
Subbed. 👍 ✌
All that would increase productivity and numbers of fry for harvest.
A positive comment from me , it's far to easy for anyone to find a point of disagreement.
Only a helpful suggestion, I write straight onto the glass with a pencil as I see things when feeding.
Thanks for watching. I used to do that but with the size of my operation, it just got too chaotic. Now with my excel sheet I can add notes as well
Wow
Love it 😊
Thank you 😊
im just wondering, just a suggestion why dont you take the breeding tank out and pour the fish in the bucket then trying to catch them with a net ?
Hi there. Thanks for the suggestion. Most of my isolation tanks leak 😛 also, with the way they're made, the fry would get caught in the cracks between the glass and the net. Trust me, I've tried.
ok cool fair enough. . Also were did you get those breeder tanks from. I have those net breeder tank ones but they arent any good.
Did you build those in-tank fry holders? If so, did you use glass or acrylic and do you have a video on it? Thanks!
Hi Jason,
They're made in glass and I have them done by Richard, our associate who grows our fish.
He uses a template to make them all the same. I don't have a video on the subject but it's a good idea ;) Thank you!
Were are u located at
Nice!
Thank you 😊
👍☑
What foods do you give them?
I use northfin fish foods :
www.quebec-cichlides.com/fish-food/pellets
Hi, do you ever breed butterfly rams? Or just African chiclids?
For the moment, just African Cichlids 😊
No longsleeve shirts?
How would you play in your tank if you're wearing a long sleeve shirt 🤓
Seriously though I'll see what I can do when I get back to my computer he he
😊😊😊
😊
We have a baby 👶 your frist yellow lab cichlid
Yay 🥳 congratulations
Actually no. Nothing changes with the females duration and ability to incubate the full period. I studied this in college in the mid-1980s. Designed but never marketed the first tumblers. Females grow faster, have larger eggs, increased numbers, move frequently and even the survival rate of fry and eggs was greater. When I missed a few who were carrying they carried the same duration, Fry were released larger, but took a good bit longer for her to recover and have next spawn. Also got picked on in a weaker state.
Well, I'll definitely have to look into this. Thanks for the tip! 😁
Do you ship to the US
Stomachs are slim...feed em more sis...definitely more babies after that..🤪🤪🤪
"Looking out the window, pondering her life choices..." LOL. I guess pregnant ones do that a lot.. even fish. I also make up stories about my fish.
They've got such complicated lives 😂
What kind of storys do you make up about your fish and why do you make stores up
Do ship to the us ?
Hi Bruce. Not yet. I'm working on that :D
You’re so cute 😍❤️
Please mention the plants as you go.luv you ,is it too late to trade wives, just kidding.not really!
Bah didonc, on chome pas :P
Absolument pas! 😊
Alot of work
Oh yes! But it's so rewarding!😊
You have ALOT of adult fish with "sunken belly", internal parasites.
Nah, they're just old. Many of these are from before I even got into the company.
As for females, those who breed a lot get sunken bellies over time.
Fish can have sunken bellies for a lot of reasons including females being overbred, old age, bacterial infections etc. Newbies think its always internal parasites.
Can you gift me some hahaaha
14:46 .....severely sunken belly
Shes very old.
she should be my wife
