    I do think there might be some skew here since tearlament was the best deck in the game by far in normal OCG, and a good amount of players probably just played it because they already had the cards for it. I do think that tear is really good still since they're pretty protected against the powerful old hand disruption cards, since discarding any of the monsters is beneficial for them, but I don't think they'd hold as high of a position if they did this tournament multiple times over and players started to figure out the meta. I do think it'd be the best non-ftk non-stun deck easily, it's just a matter of if can beat the ftk and stun decks consistently enough.

    • @ReeVoque
      @ReeVoque 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I'm not sure stun or FTK can consistently compete in a tourney as much as tears. Tears won't be their only match up, and there are a lot of options that completely fck both stun and FTK strategies. While tears can actually still play through their counters

    • @ageha6607
      @ageha6607 2 ปีที่แล้ว +18

The deck would rather have setup with Graceful Charity and Painful Choice, rather than Pot of Greed's +1. To be clear, this is a online tournament, so you didn't need real card to play. And this wasn't the first time they did this kind of tournament, so every player in tournament know what they are doing. Tearlaments won not because of familiarity , It won because of pure power the deck had. Those old school FTK are no match to Tearlaments because, Tearlaments has Turn-0 play , those old decks don't. When you go first, Tearlaments play on you turn . When they go first, you are just facing a unbreakable board.

    I'm not an expert on yugioh cards but...they do need more space on their cards so... Why not just make it a rule that each named card can only use each of its activated/triggered effects once per turn unless otherwise says so. This would remove a lot of needless text as well as would bring a lot of things off the banlist.

    Tears strong, but without more time for people to marinate in the format, ofc people are going to play what is recently strong.
    This kind of format is amazing when there has been much more time for people to find decks that were never possible.
    Dlinks with dragon rulers and bystials is something that requires heavy play time to work, for instance with all sorts of variants with thunder dragons, chaos ruler, etc etc.
    Which is why the face value of "omfg tears op" is a disingenuous way to see the format. Also jp deck building is very... interesting...

    People are on some serious copium if they think a larger sample size is going to "dethrone" tear in a format like this.
    Tear is the only deck here besides Mystic Mine who has a chance at winning games going second. Magical Scientist loses the coin toss and probably has a like 20% chance of winning by needing to hard draw a bunch of handtraps it can't run a lot of. Meanwhile Tear just goes second and can potentially just play on the opponent's turn 1 and Rulkallos negate Scientist and auto win the game.
    FTK decks in unlimited or when mostly"free" (see Pend FTK most of Master Duel) are great when going first, but when it comes to events you HAVE to go second at least half your games they aren't great.

  • @hanakoisbestgirl4752
