Jonathan didn't do super-speed when he caught Jordan's hand, it was just the way it was filmed. This episode showed that red solar radiation doesn't affect Jon, and the hammer isn't magical or impossible to lift, you can see it took some effort and he's 14 years old, not easy to lift a hammer that size at that age.
I really don't want Jonathan to get powers because it would make given the son named after Jor-El would represent Superman's Kryptonian world while the son named after the older Jonathan would represent his human world
to summarize: Jordan is basically listening to every sound on planet earth like he has it all inside his skull, and for obvious reasons that hurts AS F*CK
My friend told me a big reveal tonight. For some reason I immediately thought of Henry Irons and 90s Superman comics. I was correct! This show is setting the standard for WB comic shows.
@@erikestrada1881 adam and hector actually posted about the recent episode in twitter tho. it seems like they've already seen it but didn't react to it
I'll say it again. That writer had an axe to grind. They got canned and were mad. When people turn down your ideas, it doesn't automatically make them racist. Your ideas could be bad. People need to stop jumping to that conclusion right away. It makes it harder for people really victimized to be taking seriously. As for the race bending, my issue is that it's lazy. It went from being a honest way to introduce minority characters to a crutch. Michael Clarke Duncan as Kingpin was just good casting. He had the presence to play Wilson Fisk and he just happened to be black. Why build up a Static or Icon when you can just swap the race of a more well known character. Characters like Blade and Black Panther wouldn't have gotten movies with this attitude. Instead of putting in the work to introduce existing minority characters they just swap the ethnicity of already known characters.
Hopefully waiting out the last Hiatus (Return May 31, 2022) for S&L Season 2... Really enjoying these S1 reactions. Looks like I'm going to burn thru them rather quickly... Suppose I'm going to have to Savor them while I can. Thank You...
Had an offbeat thought, what if Steel came from a world where the history of racism was not there and there is no discrimination based on colour and no history of slavery, and he now has to live and be a hero in a world mirroring our own (except the superheroes ofcourse), interesting to see how he interacts with a world coming with no baggage.
I've been a little concerned how Lex Luthor was a black man, one of the only people of color in the show being evil? Oh boy. So when the reveal came I screamed in delight when I heard it. I love it so much.
I was so relieved when they made this revelation. This being a depiction of Lex Luthor just never sat 100% right with me. This doesn't sit 100%, but it's a lot better. I'm pretty happy.
I'm curious as to why this doesn't sit right with you? I think the character was handled extremely well this season in regards to being an alternate version with a compelling reason to fight Superman.
@@kerrodjohnson5098 He was very aggro as his plan 1. I always imaging Lex coming at you from the side with circumstance being the trap as his go-to and he can get kinetic if need be. This guy came in guns a-blazing and it kept losing for him (big shock). He lost his suit and much of his resources before he wised up and tried to meet and manipulate Lois. Additionally, it seems in this multiverse works like other television multiverses (people look alike to reuse actors), so why didn't they recognize him? Clark and Lois didn't know what their world's Lex Luthor looked like? They certainly knew the name and could ID LexCorp technology by sight. It was just a couple of small things that made me go, "Really? Okay, I guess That's the Lex they're making." I think this just sits better.
@@KBTibbs it was confirmed that different version of people throughout the multiverse don't always look the same (Tyler Superman and Brandon Routh Superman have met) and there isn't anything wrong with trying different strategies.
