  • I forged my very own golf club and tested it out! Visiting Swifts Forge near Belfast, I tried my hand as a blacksmith and build my own golf club. This is a video I've been trying to do for YEARS, so thank you to Aaron for agreeing to let me loose in his workshop and being an amazing teacher. Make sure to show Swifts some love on Instagram (@swiftsforge) and check out their website: www.swiftsforg...

I am a metal artist and use forge and anvil as part of my tooling. I’ve toyed with the idea of making a club but never made it a reality. Your putter is a gorgeous work of art.
Now I have no choice. Gotta do it.

Pete, I can't thank you enough for this video. My 8 yo son loves golf and swears up and down he wants to be a blacksmith when he grows up. It's pretty late here tonight, but I can't wait to show him this video tomorrow. Again, awesome video and thank you so much!

the fact that you have a putter hand made by you, with a tool used to build the titanic is so unbelievable cool. if the putter rolls the ball well it would never come out of the bag!

Enjoyed it Sir Peter!! I love metal work and recently got reacquainted with the game!!! As far as equipment goes.... its a mater of getting a feel for what's in your hand and having a good understanding of clubs gave you advantage in making one.

That thumbnail is on point. About the same expression I have after slicing another into the trees or three putting after looking at birdie..
Amazing video to see the work that goes into something like this. I think we take a lot for granted with our mass produced clubs. Can't imagine making a set of clubs 100+ years ago..

I love it when I just know that I am the only one in the world doing something at a particular moment. Sometimes it’s knowing that no one else has or will ever do something that I am doing. You forging a putter by hand, from metal that comes from a cart made in the 1700s, is definitely a one of a kind activity. I love this, too!

Bahahahaha! The looks the smith gives Peter while he's explaining his vision were hilarious!
In all honesty, the putters that are shown on the site are gorgeous. Something special I'll never own, as they're more than the new-to-me BMW I'm buying on Sunday, lol, but they're stunning. I would love to have a Damascus steel forged putter. The real attraction for me is that they steel itself is historic. I may have to treat myself to one of their ball markers, though.

40 odd years ago I had a proper, crafted wooden putter - beautiful.
I used it for about a year then dumped it when I got my B60.
    Which was a mistake.
Seeing you with this beautiful, unique piece of artwork brings back the pain of loss.
You keep it and use it - if it goes wrong it's you, not the club.
But if ever you get bored with it, I'll take it off your hands in an instant 😉
