Captain Falcore I’ve seen this on golden sands a few times usually standing on rocks when I’m sailing around the outpost I saw on morrows peak I think too however that one looked a little different

Rewatching this two years later, I think Rare should add more chilling encounters to the game. Like a lone ghostly dingy approaching your ship in the middle of nowhere, or spectral pirates calling out from far away, only for them to disappear when you get close, leaving only a lone barrel or crate. Just some more atmospheric hauntings rather than grand ghost battles or skeleton enemies.
Ah yeah but too much of it would spoil it, no?

I'm reminded that, according to the SoT RPG book, there's a third type of undead roaming the Sea of Thieves: revenants. Resembling normal humans with the exception of their glowing eyes. The mysterious stranger is one, obviously, but now I wonder if the devs haven't sneakily added another...

When he runs into the cave at 2:22, you can see a cave painting with a figure scaring someone else into running. This could be hinting to the fact that Crook's Hollow is haunted.

It is real, I was walking around the island at night and I kept hearing this ethereal-like breathing and I would hear footsteps when i was standing still (it couldn’t have been animals or skeletons)
CRAZY theory. What if that is a spirit of an Ancient, and with the Comotion of the possible rise of Flameheart, her rest is disturbed, and now seeks for a worthy pirate to face against the rising evil
or it's fake, but keep going with your story mate.

I was in the cave near the "Cavern Camofire" i heard the footsteps thinking someone was coming to help with some loot i found. So i started telling who ever on my crew to help me with loot.
My other three crew members were already at Stephen's spoils when this happened...

Hey Falcore, I know who that is. So in the athena’s fortune book it speaks of a lady who was cursed by flameheart because she sunk his ship. She was also the first order of souls person. Her nickname is the night walker because you can see her at night running on the beaches or just staring at you, you can also hear her running behind you but when you look back, nothing is there. I think that she is going to be a major part of sea of thieves because in other lore it says that the symbol of the silver blade which she sunk flameheart with was a Phoenix. So on crooks hollow the Phoenix will come out of the top of the island and the night walker will be in control of it. That is all I am going to say because I don’t want to spoil everything. If you want to know more, read the athena’s fortune book. I hope people fouls that helpful.

I was sailing with a crew doing the tale tail... Again and I did hear footsteps behind me I could not see anyone on or around the island and the crew told me they couldn't hear it but I did that 2 months ago

Ive definitely heard footsteps on crooks hollow on a few occasions even though I was alone. Ive never actually seen anything however. Kind of chilling now that I know someone was following me.
I was on crooks hollow a few hours ago and saw a glowing skeleton roaming around.
I tried to see if it were a player by scoping it out with a spy glass, but I couldn’t see any tags on it.
I grabbed my speaking trumpet and yelled *SENTRY DOWN* at it, then it just bloody disappeared.
I noped out of that situation and onto my boat so fast I looked like my father leaving to get the milk.
5:55 that could just be your character turning. The same thing happened to me on smuggler's bay where I would turn my camera while standing still and my character made footsteps
Omg, bro I have actually also experienced something weird on crooks hollow. I were walking in the cave that has a bug painted on a Stone in the middle of it. I stopped walking when I heard someone else walking nearby, it sounded like someone who walked/ran on sand. I were the only one on my sloop and there were no sign of other players being on the same island. I was mostly confused and thought perhaps it was lag, but when I saw this video I was convinced that this *could* be the ghost.

I have a theory. Could it be that Rare is following you as a spectator? And that lady/person is bug/glitch what is left from place where they watched you going. And those steps can be heard when they are moving a spectator camera. ?? Creepy, but this is just a theory.

Adding Crooks Hollow on the list of islands I’m not visiting this month
This actually happened to me but I noticed it. I saw it first at the entrance of one of the caves, I was scared out of my mind because I was on a Brig loaded full of loot with the Reapers bones emissary, (both of my teammates left) But then I bolted towards my ship, Got a little ways a way from the island, Went up to the crows nest, No ship no rowboat no sight of player activity, Then I looped around the island and parked on the side with the npc on the dock, Got my loot headed off to Reapers hideout, Looked at the island to see if I could see the thing again, I didn’t see it but it was there, There is an Xbox feature where you can record clips, Right as I saw the thing and it didn’t have a gamer tag I started recording, when I looked back at the footage I saw a medium sized figure on the left side of the shore.

First time I saw something like that on crooks hollow I searched around the whole island trying to see if there was a parked ship or rowboat that I didn’t notice. At least now I know that I’ma get spooked next time.

Crook's Hollow has always acted strange for me. All 3 times I tried to do the Shroudbreaker quest, it directed me to Crook's Hollow, even if there was an event or another player there. I guess that's just normal stuff idk. However, every time I left the vault to get the 3rd medal, I would hear an intense musical piece lasting for about a full second. It sounded like a longer version of the sound that plays when you find a chest and it spawns in skeletons, combined with the horn you hear for the start of each fort wave. It still does it as far as I know, even when I returned to the quest a year later as I was finally on a quiet server
There is something similar on Cannon cove, I hear laughing even though I’m alone and there are no other pirates and I too see shadow people out the corner of my eye, and sometimes they are close enough that if they were a pirate I would see their name tag, but I don’t WTF this is some creepy shit!!!
I did my own search this morning so there is footage for others to review on my channel but the sound of running in the cave, I was in a cave and could clearly hear the mermaid statue outside, being the skeptic I am and a paranormal investigator myself I jump to the rational before the irrational but this is very compelling.
I also found some interesting stuff out about crooks hollow including an upside-down ritual skull with an upturned key on it which is located in a cave under the ritual altar in the cave above where you sighted the bald lady:
In my stream...
- We found at least 3 bodies
- In the temple cave up top, they worshiped 'fire' had numerous skulls on the Altar
- Directly underneath Altar in the only cave with glowing mushrooms the upturned key painted on the ritual skull on the stalagtight
- odd how its the only tunnel with the glowing mushrooms on the whole island.
Now I have more questions...
I have also seen that ritual skull on one other island and want to say, Thieves Haven?
Fire is coming, the ancients on the island worship fire, connection?
Can we still get a ritual skull in-game and would it let us interact with skull in the cave opening a new area??
If there are ritual skulls on the island perhaps it's not a ghost but actually an order of souls mystic and if so the another island with the ritual skull, maybe another or same woman will be visible on that island?
I was told that the skulls were part of an event some time ago and were left in-game but still who is to say they are not being reused.

Hey so I know this is like 2 years after this video but this is true! After watching this me and my younger brother decided to not go to crooks hollow. I fell asleep on the couch by my brothers gaming console and I woke up to him screaming and crying. The bald lady was at the corner of his screen in the bush. Crazyyyyyy!!!

The message: “On the toppat island, you shall beware, a bald lady always stares, when you think your safe, she makes her move, her keen precision, *is what kills you”*

A few days after this video my bro and I decided to go look for this lady.
We stayed on the island searching for 2 hours.
I was not the one to spot her I was in a cave listening to an unknown tapping sound when I heard my bro scream and drop his controller on the other side of the island.
Apparently he was on the dock and spotted her on a cliff in the open staring at him, after about 2 1/2 seconds later she faded away.
This was at noon so he had a clear view of her
i feel like you’re trying to start lore among the players that there is a creepy woman who might be watching you at any time. which i agree with. even if this is staged, it is a cool story and i’m going to start telling people that i saw an old lady watching me at crooks hollow too.
If the person wouldn't have been in the stream, this would be a relevant accusation. But like that I don't think so.

3. Is a little hard to explain but is probably just a skeleton

I know you won't see this but I saw the same thing, although mine was moving, but when I approached, it disappeared and I thought "Maybe it was a visual glitch." But, I turned around to look at my ship to take a screenshot of the beautiful sunset behind my ship, hoping to win that contest, but little did I know until I checked the screenshot later, that there were 3 identical figures on my mast.

This is most likely fake, there are so many things that point to this, however if you are genuinely honest about this, and if it turns out to be true, I will eat my hat. here's the PROOF
1, the "no username" thing boils down to turning on or off gamer tags in your settings, so it's either your friend or some other pirate you got to do it
2, the "being in multiple places" bit is just your editing, pretty simple
3, the steps are just combined audio in Adobe Premiere or some other basic editing software
The only thing that kinda proves this is the stream, however, if that is the case, it's a possibility that it's just some pirate you didn't see before, people do this all the time, they even have a nickname, "pirate ninjas" if you were curious (pirates would stalk players and hide on ships and islands ever since the game came out, and since it's close to Halloween it might boost and make more want to do this for the scares and creeps.)
Once again, you might be honest about this, there might actually be some ghost lady glitch thing or whatever, but knowing that you love to troll with captain ballow vids and other random nonsense, this is probably and most likely an out of season April fools joke.
