I was getting ready to jump maybe to the Rivera once v2 dropped in price, but Altra went ahead and changed the entire character of the shoe AGAIN. This is absolutely a great alternative to that one!
It is indeed. I wanted to like the Rebel V2, but it turned out to be a useless shoe for me (horrible toebox). I'm a bit afraid to try the new Cyclone just because these guys like it so much. At least Thomas did not seem to be a fan of it, so the shoe might be worth trying.
Nice review! I could see trying this one next time my Escalantes wear out. The Escalante 3 is pretty good, but the upper will be too toasty for me once we get through the winter months.
do you think you can recommend this for recovery run? I use escalante racer for race days and daily, and now I'm planning to get something for recovery runs since the racer's kinda hard on feet for a recovery run.
I want to try this cause zero drop is starting to irritate my Achilles as I ramp up miles. The specter gave me blisters cause it was too narrow. I wonder if this upper is a bit more forgiving.
Great review, I love Topo but the Ultrafly has amazing fit but the Zip Foam is hard and dated. In the REBEL V2 I just have to much ground feel on the crappie village roads.. Does this shoe give better protection (Metatarsal) then the REBEL V2?
If the UltraFly gets released with a Pebax outsole… it will easily be the best shoe on the market no questions asked. Praying they go in that direction with the next version of the shoe. 👏🏼
Hopping into a relay race last minute and need some road shoes. Just started wearing the Topo Pursuits. These have caught my eye. Thanks for the review- I’ll be picking up a pair. As a hardcore vegan who doesn’t drink…haha don’t worry, I’m not a douche 😂
The people who drink analogy was perfect! It took me one video on TH-cam where the doctor cut out corns, ingrown infected toenails and ligament hammer/claw toe surgery, to swop to zero drop/wide toe box shoes. Other people constantly hunt PBs and PRs and every millisecond they gain is worth the pain to them. My one mate who is a smoker always says, "even if cigarettes cost $50 a pack it's still a bargain". For him the joy, taste, smell of different tobacco products outweigh the risks. But it's what makes him happy. Do what's best for you
I normally wear size 10 in other shoe manufacturers and 9.5 works good for me for the Cyclone 2. Plenty of room even after sizing down. This is my first Topo.
Ha....I meet all the stereotypes you threw out in this video.....vegan....love Altra/zero drop....and I gave up drinking last year. But I promise I'm not obnoxious about it :)

Hi guys... how's the breathability of the upper? Kinda need something really breathable with a natural feeling specially in a tropical country i live in, only 2 seasons... hot and hotter😁
@@Believeintherun thanks guys… I’ll keep this as an option for sure. Just waiting for more reviews from you guys on other shoes before i decide. Gotta run for now… see yah around
You heard it hear first. Robbe has an only fans 😋Seriously though. I might have to try this shoe. I have the Rebel V3 in wide and love the bouncy ride, but the toe box is still to squishy for my fat toes.
Funny what you said about veganism because I am a few years back to heal some health issues and to lose some weight so I can run better. I went vegan for supposed to be only about three months better than the being a little longer and the only thing that drove me away from it was vegans. Sorry ritual
Just a heads up: the stack height on this is 28 mm/23 mm, so a bit higher than we said in the video. Everything else should be good!

For sure, would be a nice replacement
I just love it at easy pace also
Like for Thomas and Robbe. Thanks for this information about the cyclone2. A nice day for everyone.
How do these shoes compare to the Brooks Hyperion? I'm interested in both and like a wider more neutral shoe.
The resemblance to the Rebel v2 is scary

Oh that's exciting! I love my Rebel v2s! I'd like to try more shoes like them.
@@weuekhave you found any wide shoes? I tried rebel v3 in wide but still tight. And topos not available in my size
@@mothafucka465 I don't need wide shoes, I just need a toebox that doesn't squeeze my toes.
No, because I don't need a wide shoe. I just don't want my toes to suffer.@@mothafucka465

been waiting for these new Topo’s

For someone who runs in escalante racer, then probably yes
@Believeintherun thankss! Appreciate the response.
Battle this shoe with the endorphin speed 3 please, I'm deciding on cyclone 2 or SPEED 3 WIDE
Did you manage to check out the Cyclone 2? How's the width compared to Endorphin Speed 3 Wide?
How would you compare the feel and function to the StreakFly? Seems like there’s a lot of the same energy there…
Reminds me look wise of my Kinvara 13's

if you wear zero drop on a regular you’ll eventually stretch that achilles tendon to where you can use them more
I like ground feel but seems like they are non-existent outside the US
I'm from Poland and I buy my Topos in Germany, Denmark or Spain.

Similar probably
@@paddywiggle I hope that the Pebax midsole will dull the road feel..

Underarmour uses the double lace loop on some of their shoes

What about sizing, to me TOPOs always run large so I have to size down.

Just light a candle and heat up a screwdriver and poke holes in your shoes. I do it all the time
