I also think that the shop guy is Morshu's actor, or at least its a damn good impression.
Nonetheless it's still impressive me that they got the two back after the two Zelda CDI games in 30 Years.

It took 30 years, but now we've warmed up to the "Animation Magic"'s style
At first we laughed at them, now we laugh with them.
I always kinda liked it, it reminded me of children's drawings.
It always as been the best part of the CDi games.
Give that dingo pictures existed. I developed a newfound appreciation for animation magic style.
The animation had some great body language, I can say.
The fact that this exists at all, let alone clearly exists in such an excellent quality, brings hope to the world.

Then once he’s beaten you throw the item at him again and it works.

This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. The ytps of the CDI Zeldas were my childhood, and seeing them embrace the memes with the goofy style, but actually having good looking gameplay is amazing. This might be the first time in forever I buy day one. I can't believe the little gags and references actually had me geeking out over a meme game.

Im surprised, because i saw that most people hate these games, but now that they made a PC port and now this, it seems that people started to aprecciate those games a bit more.
@sebastianaliandkulche Well the games aren't good, but their infamy has made them immortal. TH-cam poops gave them a whole new life and fandom.
It took me a bit longer than it probably should've to realize that the name "Seedy Eye" was picked because of what it sounds like... but I'd recognize that voice saying "good" anywhere!

@@Antasma1 The game is an homage to old Zelda and Mario games for the "CD-i" console by Philips Electronics, which later became famous on TH-cam because people found re-editing their animated scenes to be funny. Bonnie Jean Wilbur was the voice for Zelda in those games, and is the person who said "good" in the trailer.

But jokes aside, this looks fantastic! The sprite work looks great, the world and backgrounds look gorgeous, the gameplay looks fun and fluid... and the characters look really wacky and weird in a way that not only really brings back memories of the Zelda CDi games, but also makes Arzette herself really stand out! She's definitely drawn and animated in a starkly different style, which I bet is on purpose, almost like she's from a completely different world, and I love how she's a little weirded out by the other characters, much like how we are as well!

Oh my goodness, the fuckin Philips inspired intro and the cutscenes, and everything--
The last thing I was expecting today was a CDI Games Spiratual successor... And one that actually looks fun to play TOO.
I love how instead of improving the cutscenes' artstyle, the game kinda just embraced the memes and just kept them the same from back then, and kinda gives the YTP community more material in the process as well.
It honestly just makes this better and more of a Curveball. The fact this thing exists is a massive curveball in the best ways possible for me.
Zelda CDI: Arzette and the Wand of Gamalon.
On the one hand, it's INCREDIBLE seeing a CD-i Zelda/Mario inspired game in todays modern age, I genuinely hope that this game learns from the aspects that made Wand of Gamelon and The Faces of Evil (and also Hotel Mario) both iconic and improves on the good parts of them.
On the other hand, while the thought of this game being another CD-i level disaster does sound extremely funny, I genuinely hope they don't fumble over being "LOL WACKY" and are able to actually do something compelling with their story. We want the charm of the CD-i Zeldas, not the monotonous gameplay of them...

@@BlazeHeartPantherplus one of the biggest hurdles for the cdi games was the retarded idea of having *down plus a* be the *open menu* button combo. As long as they avoid that kinda button mapping it should be fine.
There seems to be sufficient clues in this one to where the ground is and what is foreground vs background so I'm hopeful

CDi YTPs is just about the first thing I remember actively following after I started using the internet sometime before 2010, so seeing someone making a game based off of these now cult classics is making me so happy.
Getting the original Voice Actors from the Zelda CDi Games is the surprise desert on top of this already wonderful dinner serving!

What an interesting coincidence. I just happened to play the originals last week. They were both utterly hilarious messes, but I found myself having legitimate fun with them. I'm actually genuinely interested in this.

This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I remember when Bonniejean Wilbur said she was involved with a CD-i Zelda related fan project, but I wasn't expecting it to be anything like this! All I can say is WOW!
I'm almost certain the sound at 0:34 is the exact same one that plays when Ganon shoots lightning out of his hands in Wand of Gamelon.

This is beautiful. I want this!!!!!!!!!!! As the goof that originally recorded all Faces of Evil cutscenes back in the day for the YTP community, this game holds a lot of weight. I need to play this. I love that hotel mario is even referenced here! Just be aware, I can almost guarantee you that there will be YTPs of this.

I feel like there's a lot of love put into this. Besides the obvious things, there's the actual ingame sound effects straight out of the CD-i Zelda games, the Hotel Mario gameplay with the doors, and I'm sure there's more subtle stuff I missed in the trailer...
As someone who watched many Zelda CDi/Hotel Mario YTPs, this game looks like a lot of fun. They even got the original actors for Link and Zelda in the games. This is peak gaming right here
Never in my life did I expect someone to make a game inspired by the CD-i Zelda games and have some of the people that worked on the original involved as well.
As someone who watched and enjoyed quite a bit of YTPs back in the day, I'm definitely going to check this game out.

As somebody who unironically loves the Philips CD-I and it's library, this game simply hits home so hard! There were so many references and call-outs to not just the side scrolling Zelda games on the CD-I, but to the system itself, the music was the same style, the voice actors I believe are the originals and it even had a Hotel Mario mini-game/section.

This trailer had me giggling with joy! What a great homage.
It’s kinda crazy to see a new CDI style game, but also really cool too. The fact the gameplay also looks pretty fun is great too, so you get the best of both worlds.
While I do love all the throwbacks to CD-i Zelda, I also can't help but also smile at the subtle nod to the "buy something, will ya" from the original NES Zelda game at the end with pompadour Morshu.

I never played the original CDI games, but the video content using the cutscenes and characters is what i believe helped immortalize the two games. Seeing a game that returns to that unique style of art and modernizing it is really nice.

I genuinely think this is my favorite announcement from the entire "Summer of E3 Replacement Digital Showcase Events." This is amazing.
The nostalgia for the CDi is obvious (and very smile-inducing, they completely nailed it) but there's a few other things it reminds me of. In philosophy it's closer to Bloodstained, Mighty #9, and Yooka Laylee in the "this will never get a re-release, so let's make a spiritual successor" mold, all it's missing is a Kickstarter page. And it also reminds me of Slayers X, a period piece that's kind of TOO faithful to the 90s and should by all rights look _terrible,_ but is realized so well that it genuinely elevates it back up to good.
As somebody who genuinely liked the artstyle of the CD-i games (mainly thanks to growing up on 70s-80s European cartoons), this is kinda brilliant. Love what I'm seeing so far.

I can't believe it's been 1 year since they showed this trailer at the Limited Run Games showcase of 2023, and TBH, I had no idea such a showcase even occured at the time until about a day later when I learned that this game was announced there which made me regret missing out on the LRG showcase. When I first heard about this game, I was surprised and excited because not only did it come out of the blue, but I used to be a major YTP fan back in the late 2000s and it was actually my most anticipated game of 2023 before it got delayed to 2024, and the game then became my most anticipated of that year. After watching this trailer, I got back into my fanboyism of YTP, specifically the classic YTP, and I even played the demo at PAX West 2023, I loved playing it. February 2024 finally came, Arzette was finally released, I bought it digitally, and I fell in love with it even more. The game wasn't perfect by any means because it was a bit short, the difficulty was the bit too easy, and so was the final boss, but I still loved it regardless and it makes me look forward to Seedy Eye Software's next project. I just wanna say thanks to Seth "Dopply" Fulkerson for helping me get back into YTP and making such a fantastic indie game that basically succeeded where the CDI Zelda games failed.
