    What are your favorite things to chow down on at a Brazilian steakhouse?

    Brazilian here. We only use salt in our barbecue, no seasoning and no souce. Chimichurri is from Argentina and it's a novelty in steakhouses here in Brazil but not everyone likes it. To have a good meet experience go to the buffet once when you start and don't return, the buffet is there to fill up you but don't fall for this trap, you are in a steakhouse to eat meat. "Cupim" is a delicious meet when good prepared, also is the "costela", they are meet that requires a slow cooking (8 to 12 hours). Don't miss "coração" (chicken heart) and never, ever miss the "picanha" that is the golden meat from Brazil. If you want something that is not passing in your table, ask the manager. Don't overdrink, take something light as a sparkling water with lime and ice and drink it slowly, you shouldn't take more than 1 bottle/cup in you meal, remember you are in a place to eat meat, not to drink gallons of stuff. Remember: cow is food, human beens are carnivorous.

    My favorite cut is the picanha. The last time I was at a Brazilian steak house was a year ago at Fogo de Chao in San Antonio. My party was seated about as far as possible from the kitchen. We asked three times for picanha only to see the servers run out of it each time long before they made it to our table. My heart still hurts from that!

    We have a mom and pop store front churascerria here in Atlanta. It’s tiny with about 7 or 8 tables. Same concept but you go up to the counter to get your meats.
    $19.99 and a bargain!

    At the one I go to, the salad bar is just $15 with tax and tip, it's $20 and with that I get imported cheeses and cured meats and other things I enjoy. And those rare times I do go for the full treatment, the salad bar offers some things that go good with meat like roasted garlic and marinated onions.

    I took my son to Chama Gaucha here in San Antonio for his 28th birthday, and he didn't tell me until we'd arrived that he'd just gotten his wisdom teeth taken out that day. I was worried it would be a problem, but I needn't have bothered. That boy proved he is indeed his Father's son, and put away at LEAST a pound of meats! Though unlike me, he completely disdained the salad bar.
    I swear that kid must have a hollow leg. Skinny as a rail, but when he lived with me he was known as The Destroyer of Groceries.

    This is my wife's favorite. We go to one in Tacoma several times a year to celebrate her closing a sale. I enjoy the salad bar as much as the meat. Usually the only time I get to enjoy lamb.

  • @OptimusWombat
    @OptimusWombat ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Slow and leisurely is the wrong approach. You have 20 minutes, maybe 30 tops, before your brain registers that you're full, so you have that much time to stuff as much food down your maw as you can.

  • @JupiterTarts

    Bonus tip: the salad bars are delicious and if want just the salad bar, they'll give you all you can eat for a fraction of the price (something like $45 for the full meal vs. $20 for just the salad bar at Fogo de Chao). They let you order meat by the slices as well in case you feel like you're missing out. Also, the grilled pineapple is an amazing palate cleanser between meats and tastes freaking delicious. Always recommend it.

    These types of steak houses serve the cheapest cuts of steak and are always bland and flavorless. Also I have been to several across the USA and I have had to ask and or complain about the service to get everything that I paid for in the top tier selection. I would rather go to Ruth’s Chris any day.

      Have you been to Fogo de Chao? That's the best one.
      For an American steakhouse, I don't think Ruth's Chris is that good anymore. Feel like Mastro's or a regional steakhouse is better.

      You have to ask for a rare or medium rare steak for tender meat. Medium or well done makes the meat dry and chewy, gives my jaw a good chewing exercise 😂.
