      Texas De Brazil hands down. At least in Vegas. Fogo was less expensive, had a smaller selection and wasn’t nearly as tasty compared to TDB.

    Why do reviews always stress on healthy options, even vegan? NOBODY goes to one of these restaurants for that. NOBODY eats there for every meal so, throw out your healthy concerns. It's an experience in carnivore, not cauliflower steaks! Salad bar? Nice. But, NOBODY loads up on rabbit food at a steakhouse! The bar options? Unless an alcoholic, both will satisfy your drink options.

    Some tips from a Brazilian who has been going to steakhouses in Brazil for 20 years. Churrascaria is for life and don't try all the meats the first time, try some cuts of meat the first time and others the second and third times, until you only taste your favorite meats. Chicken and sausage serve to clean the palate between meats. If there are a lot of people waiting outside, the gauchos try to fill you with meat as quickly as possible so that you and your family and friends get up from the table and leave the table free for other people, control the gauchos with the green and red card .

    Research the meats and menu before you go. At Fogo, the night I went, they avoided to bring out the more expensive cuts of meat. They tried to fill us with the lower cost cuts, much chicken and sausage. We had to ask the host to have specific cuts made available...which they didn't like, but had to comply since it's ALL advertised. Also, go easy on the salads and other items (you only have so much space in your stomach to fill). A good experiece at both places... but have some sense of strategy to get the most of it.

      I was at one in Vegas and the first meat they offered was mignon. I then turned my sign to red and asked for prime rib. They will bring out what you ask for but it does take time which was a little irking. I do Iike the sausage always, and I'm a fan of charcuterie. Spacing out your food is important too. I would go back. Price is fair in my opinion.

    I only go to lunch due to price. When I just want the market bar, Fogo is cheaper by far. $20 with tax and tip and it's worth it. When I want the meat, it's Texas. But I only go on the weekdays when I'm off work because weekends are more expensive.

    In terms of meat, I had Fogo de Chao in Beverly Hills CA and wasn’t too impressed. Had Texas de Brazil in Irvine CA and the meats were better. Fogo uses gas assist broilers, where Texas uses live lump charcoal. Live fire roasted meats will win every single time.

    • @STVYT

      Not 100% true there are several Fogo that use the original charcoal as well

    • @STVYT
      @STVYT 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In fact Beverly Hills is one of them being one of the original locations and they are now opening some new locations again with charcoal after using mostly gas for years so it’s pretty much the newest locations and the oldest locations that have charcoal
