Great interview Mark and well spoken Rocky,it’s time the Australian government steps in and protects Rocky until all court documents are released to his lawyers and he has a chance to defend himself against absurd charges
As someone who has known Rocky for a few years, I can vouch for him. He is a humble man of integrity and honesty. Nothing shifty in his character whatsoever. As a public figure who has spent a lot time with many players and members of the Rugby community, there are no doubt many others who can and will say the same. Australians need go get on board and show support.
Great interview Mark. I trust the Australian government and Rugby Australia are taking an active role in making sure that Rocky as an Australian and a former Wallaby great is well supported and protected.
An honour to know you Rocky, as a man of integrity, empathy and talent. We are with you every step of the way. You are missed, travel well mate. See you soon, The Stodulka family. Tom

Political stitch up, seems like they don't want to give him the chance to defend himself as the charges won't hold up if they had actually been defended in court.
Great yarn this. I wish him all the best! The French Clubs are crooked as a dogs hind leg, I played a season there and it was the wild west behind the scenes.
Agree, I saw some of the islander boys not get paid for months. It was only until I went up to head office and confronted them that they back paid them. Joke
Rocky was awesome for Leinster. I met his once and I was surprised how humble he was. He should be crowd funded to help him fight what appears to be a travesty of justice.
I’m relieved to hear that Rocky got such offers of practical help when he needed them. And that he clearly has such inner strength and fight. I was worried about him. That he never knew about this trial is obvious. I hope that he has a great lawyer and the resources and resilience to fight and keep fighting this conviction in the courts for as long as it takes to clear his name and to get his life back. At least now he will have the opportunity to defend himself. Thanks for your great questions Mark! This is the best, clearest explanation of what happened that I’ve come across. I didn’t understand before what the relationship was between the club and the council, the board, or how what they accused Rocky of could be a criminal offence. Rugby clubs have gone bust due to bad management before without a single person being tried for it. I did read that the judge sent notifications of the trial to two addresses in Australia. That does mean that these ever got to Rocky. So both the courts and Rocky could be telling the truth about him knowing/ not knowing about the trial. That they chose not to publicise the trial sounds like they deliberately didn’t want him to know about it. This part I don’t understand. Why would a judge have such a bias against him? A love of Narbonne? This was obviously unjust and something that I’d expect from 18th century France. That this is happening now is shocking.
I have known Rocky for a long time! He is a man of integrity, talent and kindness. A very capable man. Super intelligent and so kind to everyone around him. He genuinely wants the best for people and wants people to win and do well. A true hero really. This is almost laughable what the French have done. It makes no sense. If you look at the statistics of where the club was under Rocky's guidance and where it is now you see the facts. So its pretty clear the French are just dark and trying to blame him for there bankruptcy and losses. Not good business. This just goes to show that the wrong people are in power in Rugby Union hence why it's failing massively especially in Australia. Teams are losing millions. Rocky actually knows how to make a successful team and club, the proof is in the pudding with Narbonne, that's why they are withholding court documents because the numbers and facts are there. The propaganda and outlandish attacks on Rocky are just an indication of there poor business decisions and loss of money. They have the dirty hands, otherwise why won't they just release all the court documents. What are they hiding? Rocky has clean hands on this it's pretty clear in his manner, nature and transparency here. We need to protect GOOD HEALTHY MEN and PROPER LEADERS. Go Rocky! GOAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great interview Mark. Thank you! I know Rocky for years now. He is a humble ,quiet and kind person, nothing but helpful, always there when you need him! He would give you the shirt of his back if you need it,and not take it from you! Those accusations are a completely false, ridiculous and fabrications of a sick mind! Anyone who knows Rocky would agree with that. Completely out if his character ! He lives a modest quiet life I didn't even know that he's famous until someone else told me. I wish him the very best and I hope we'll see him soon. Hang in there Rocky, you're greatly missed by everyone.
Awesome interview Mark - gripping story. I'll wait for the movie (perhaps a different kind of Rocky movie we are used to) Hope it ends well for him - he seems very genuine and authentic!
So, Scott Morrison cancels the French deal on subs and costs Australia $835mill in compensation ( where’s the accountability ?) and an Aussie rugby star trying to stop a piss ant French rugby town from going broke gets 5yrs prison in absentee. I am a 63yr Aussie and something does not pass the pub test here. Thanks Mark l had just passed his conviction off as a wealthy ex aussie rugby player taking the piss overseas. My apologies Rocky for thinking that without your side of the story.
Get over the submarine deal champ. We will be far safer from that decision (that labor fully supported). Getting out of the French sub deal will go down as an incredibly sensible call
Rocky is a man of great integrity. I have no doubts that the French have let emotion make their decisions for them. French history repeating itself again.
@@twatt3198 he claims that he wasn't aware and they didn't notify him, which is 100% bs : if it was the case it would be a major procedural violation and the rulling would be nullified
Just asked Chat GPT - The closest country to Ireland that does not have an extradition treaty with the European Union is likely to be Morocco. Though Morocco is not geographically close in the sense of being a neighboring country, it’s one of the nearest non-EU countries outside of the European extradition system, located on the northwest coast of Africa, with travel distance similar to southern Europe. Morocco has no formal extradition agreement with the European Union as a whole. However, extradition rules can be complex and depend on the specific agreements between individual countries, so it’s always recommended to consult legal advice if this is a serious concern.
I’m still owed 12k by Biarritz. The clubs over there are so unprofessional and play by their own rules…. Especially when you’re a foreigner. The second someone plays them at their own game they don’t like it. C’est la vie
@ Low IQ comment. Could name the entire squad and most results from my two seasons but that wouldn’t prove anything considering you can get all that information online 😂

Nek minit in charge of finances, president/ owner? Sorry guys but doesn't make sense. Good intensions etc but this is vague as hell. Rugby is a bloody small community so hard to digest nothing of these charges/ shenanigans got back to Rocky till the last minute. And where's Dwyer? Atb with this Rocky.
That’s the point he took nothing for himself.. the payments were wages for players .. and they were not a million dollars of embezzlement as the newspapers were told .. it was $200,000 in payments to players , of which were all documented and audited at the time… This is also in the court documents… this is a case of fraud, slander & libel by the people who bought this to court and mark my words they will be held accountable.
Within the first few minutes, I sensed Rocky is a potential scammer by the way he answered (or did not answer) the question about " what do you mean minimum wage contracts". And he subsequently goes on to say lots of other things that don't make sense to Mark.
He's got to be careful what he says in his situation. He's bright, streetwise. He's right about staying out of custody to build a case, getting the "right" advice. Many people including lawyers can give bad advice. You can talk to 10 different lawyers and all 10 can give you different answers.
Mr Elsom, As far as French justice is concerned, you are guilty. You have virtually condemned a historic club, an entire city whose heart beats to the rhythm of their team's victories. According to the local media, you stole €700,000 from the club's coffers. If you think you're innocent, then turn yourself in to the French justice system. Go to Narbonne and explain yourself. Show them proof of your innocence. Be sure that French justice is not corrupt as you have implied in your previous statements. In my opinion, your flight is a sign of your guilt. Give yourself up, explain yourself before the courts and not in a long monologue in defence of yourself, and perhaps your so-called innocence can be demonstrated.
You have no idea.🤦♂️ It doesn't work like that. Not just French clubs are corrupt. Rocky might be innocent, might not be too. Once in custody, like he said its very hard to get the right information and build a case. That's of course why they want you in custody. It places everything in their favour.
