My dad was a marine in WW2 and he would shine his shoes every evening. A man just had to wear pristine shoes. He died nearly 50 years ago but I still have his shoe shine kit and use his brush every time I shine mine. I learned a few extra pointers here. Thanks. It’s really satisfying to make your shoes look good! That shoe shine kit of his is a precious reminder of him for me.

👍😍I am a woman and for some strange reason love shining shoes, especially doing it for people I love and care about. I love seeing shoes restored and taken care of. Doing so is a type of meditation. I have an appreciation for the effort and work that goes into taking care of and restoring shoes. I just can’t explain why I love this. Thank you for posting this video. 🤗💞🤗
Usually this type of videos calm the mind and put the emotions in the correct position in the brain so, normally watching this could help with essays, presentations and exams.
I'm a "shoe person". I loved watching this. I bought my husband two pairs of vintage Nettleton loafers and a pair of Edmonds oxfords. I would love to have them properly restored.
This is what I love about you tube, people sharing their expertise to educate their viewers on how do many, life changing, money saving, remedies, and how to restore a good quality leather shoe like new again. Thank you so much for sharing.
There's some sort of a calm feeling just from watching old stuff being renewed. Imagine how the owners would feel nostalgic upon seeing 'old' stuff looking good as though they're new.
I’m so glad I stumbled upon this channel! I am retired USAF from the days of mirror shine. USAF Honor Guard. I would mirror shine every day after work. My Corcoran jump boots had love. Thank you for the memories!
Beautiful work. Your video brought back some fine memories. My dad shined shoes as a boy starting in the early 40’s and passed the knowledge along to me when I was about 7. I shined his and my uncles’ shoes (he had three brothers) and that made me a little money. Shoe shining skills served me well when I went into USCG boot camp in 1976. Well shined shoes were absolutely necessary to pass inspection. We were told “they start at your shoes and work up. SHINE YOUR BOOTS and SHOES!” Over the years I have spent many hours shining my shoes and boots. In the mid 80’s land early 90’s, I worked at One World Trade Center. On the concourse there was a shoe repair shop that had at least 10 shoe shining stands, each with a great shoe shiner. I recall one particularly tough meeting after which my boss said, “Let’s get our shoes shined.” The 10 minutes or so we spent getting our shoes shined was the perfect remedy for post-tough meeting. I didn’t realize I had so many wonderful memories about shining shoes. Thanks for reviving them for me and for reviving your dad’s shoes.
Y'know, the best way to figure how good a dad someone will be... you see how they treat their parents. Great job on the shoe's young man, you're a force to be reckoned with!
My dad passed away when i was 7 but some of my best memories i have are going with him to the Florsheim store when he would buy his shoes as well as him teaching me how to polish shoes. I myself will always remember buying my own first pair of Florsheim shoes and some of the exact same styles my dad had. Thanks for bringing back some good memories.
I hope you get really successful one day. You love your work and usually people don't feel proud telling they clean shoes for a living but you are open minded about it. Love it
Work is love made visible ... Here's a lovely poem by Kahlil Gibran who was a Poet, painter, writer, philosopher, theologian, visual artist and Maronite with a side order of mysticism of the Sufis who was kinda a big deal back in the day. He lived from 1883 to 1931. "On Work" You work that you may keep pace with the earth and the soul of the earth. For to be idle is to become a stranger unto the seasons, and to step out of life's procession, that marches in majesty and proud submission towards the infinite. When you work you are a flute through whose heart the whispering of the hours turns to music. Which of you would be a reed, dumb and silent, when all else sings together in unison? Always you have been told that work is a curse and labour a misfortune. But I say to you that when you work you fulfil a part of earth's furthest dream, assigned to you when that dream was born, And in keeping yourself with labour you are in truth loving life, And to love life through labour is to be intimate with life's inmost secret. But if you in your pain call birth an affliction and the support of the flesh a curse written upon your brow, then I answer that naught but the sweat of your brow shall wash away that which is written. You have been told also that life is darkness, and in your weariness you echo what was said by the weary. And I say that life is indeed darkness save when there is urge, And all urge is blind save when there is knowledge, And all knowledge is vain save when there is work, And all work is empty save when there is love; And when you work with love you bind yourself to yourself, and to one another, and to God. And what is it to work with love? It is to weave the cloth with threads drawn from your heart, even as if your beloved were to wear that cloth. It is to build a house with affection, even as if your beloved were to dwell in that house. It is to sow seeds with tenderness and reap the harvest with joy, even as if your beloved were to eat the fruit. It is to charge all things you fashion with a breath of your own spirit, And to know that all the blessed dead are standing about you and watching. Often have I heard you say, as if speaking in sleep, "He who works in marble, and finds the shape of his own soul in the stone, is nobler than he who ploughs the soil. And he who seizes the rainbow to lay it on a cloth in the likeness of man, is more than he who makes the sandals for our feet." But I say, not in sleep but in the overwakefulness of noontide, that the wind speaks not more sweetly to the giant oaks than to the least of all the blades of grass; And he alone is great who turns the voice of the wind into a song made sweeter by his own loving. Work is love made visible. And if you cannot work with love but only with distaste, it is better that you should leave your work and sit at the gate of the temple and take alms of those who work with joy. For if you bake bread with indifference, you bake a bitter bread that feeds but half man's hunger. And if you grudge the crushing of the grapes, your grudge distils a poison in the wine. And if you sing though as angels, and love not the singing, you muffle man's ears to the voices of the day and the voices of the night.
My father also taught me how to shine. Little did I know that knowledge prepared me for the Marines. Definitely a skill I have not forgotten. This video was touching on a personal level for me. Thank you

Thanks for bringing back memories of shining my dad's shoes every Sat. night before we went to church the next morning. He had worked in a shoe shop back in the early 1950's and LOVED the smells and the joy of seeing his work come to life and appreciated by the customers. He was the one who taught us the importance of shoe trees, taking your time and working the oils and polish into the leather. LOL, I just remembered how mom would holler at us when we got polish on our fingers and didn't do a good job of washing it off. Thanks for the great video and all you do.

It is always a great pleasure to watch a craftsman who knows his work and does it damn well.
You sir, do your job damn well. Well done yet again!
Nicely done, shoes look brand new. A little care goes a long way.
This is amazing, something to do at 3 am while I can't sleep
Best thing about it was that you were doing it for your dad :)
OUTSTANDING JOB!!! I don't know what it is about a beautiful pair of dress shoes...
The pride that you show in your work is amazing. It made me not only hit the like button, but also the subscribe one too.
Can you puts some links for the products you use? I love watching you work on shoes, it reminds me of my time in the Marine Corps.
Arthur C thank you for your service Marine.
I had the same question. And as previously posted above me... Thank you for your service.
Saphir and Tarrago products are available online. I order my polish on Amazon. Saphir is my go to line of shoe care. Tarrago dyes are great!
12:35 A.M. And this is where I find myself, and I watched every minute of it.....
11:49p for now
I was in the Navy for thirteen years I can make mirrors, something relaxing about it.
Honestly, who disliked this work of art? Just gorgeous, honey! Worth the time, and effort. 🥰
I just love the final shot, showing you with your camera, reflected in the mirror of the shoe!
✨🌹✨
Would you be able to list the materials that you use in the description? Shoes came out awesome! Love the vids!
Why would he give you his trade secrets bro :) send your old shoes to him and he'll make them like new :))
@@VikasAnant He used products available to the public. The true magic does not come with what products you use but your experience and skills.
He literally tells you in the video what products he used
Your daddy disrespected them
I think he might only like hand made English shoes now days, that's why he desrespectred these American products
You should link the products and make a video on how to use the products
That's amazing, now what was I searching on TH-cam for again? 🤔
Attention to detail here is simply amazing to watch. Great work my friend. 👍
I am really envious of your father. You are fantastic!!
