The largest, wealthiest and most influential African states were Islamic (Almoravids, Almohads, Mali, Songhay, Kanem-Bornu, Ajuran, Sokoto caliphate, the Swahili city-states)... if not for colonialism, Africa would have likely been a prosperous Muslim continent. Well, no matter. Colonialism only delayed the inevitable. The Muslim African Renaissance will begin soon, Insha'Allah.
This was great, the art was top notch, I've yet to see anyone do a vid on the Dhar Titchitt era 3rd millennium BC west Africa that was contemporaneous with Old-kingdom Egypt, Early-dynastic Mesopotamia and the ancient Indus valley civilization, it will be difficult because there isn't much on written records, but a lot on archeology with it's dry stone buildings.
@@infographicsafrica Great, you might want to start with Gassire's Lute which may very well stretch back into the proto Wagadu Empire ,An epic poem from the West African Sudan recounts the fall of the city-state of Wagadu due to a noble warrior's vanity and determination to become his people's first bard.
Stunning artwork. Great job as usual !
Thank you! Any subject you think we could work on? Next histories videos will be on Kush and Ethiopia.
@@infographicsafrica The Jolof empire of modern day Senegal will be a good subject

Sokoto and Swahili are on the list for new videos!

So many stories to explore in Africa! That would indeed be a good video, based on oral history and archeology!
