I'd recommend it, you just gotta be anal in regards to maintenance if you're gonna drive it like me lol. Do that and you'll be fine. Oil changes every 3k miles and and major fluid changes like transmission, rear diff, etc every 10k. expect a yearly spending of 2500 to 3000 just on maintenance. They're not cheap, but you can also easily work on them yourself too and there's lots of aftermarket support to help you if there's any issues.
Thank you, Idk if you've seen my late to work video but I'd highly recommend you watch that one to be truly entertained. ALSO once I get my car back from the shop I'll have more content coming soon
Yea these hp plus pads be a BITCH, mad loud at night time they're so loud especially in boston that the squeaking LITERALLY can be heard from BLOCKS away, It's bad. BUT I've only ever overheated these pads once and that was when I was messing around on the highway and that was from alot of 150 to 20mph stops. What started on the highway sadly took to the streets... and then back on the highway and that session lasted like 15 minutes and that was when the pads were NEW shortly after the burnishing period. I still drove the same way a few thousand miles later and they've never overheated again. I've been planning to see if I can do something to quiet them down or just get yellow stuff brake pads. I seen a video of a bmw M135i driving similar to my driving style and NO SQEAKING can be heard, and the brakes seemed to hold up fine for his shenanigans so they should hold up for mine. Here's the link to the video I'm talkin about. th-cam.com/video/xkuknyVpwbQ/w-d-xo.html
@@MrDjvas That BMW driver is wild, but he isn't a flat out kinda guy. You know, like you said 150 to 20 attempting to stop, he let's off the gas a lot. I'm in the same boat as you, when I first got the charger I would fly up to 120, then try to lose that speed quickly putting a lot of wear on the brakes. Causing them to squeak, but how often do you change pads? and did you notice a difference whenever you did change them?
@@boosted333 I used to buy autozone duralast gt pads, and truth be told they squeaked alot and only lasted 7000 miles, not as much $ or squeaking as my hp plus pads though, but I also did end up glazing my rotors ALOT because of these pads causing them to squeak alot more AT TIMES, but not as frequently.... I burnished them properly too. . BUT they were mad cheap and you could literally buy them, burn them down to nothing, take them off, and bring them back to any autozone and get another set of pads FOR FREE, they have a lifetime warranty. I stopped using them because they kept glazing my rotors and then they started to squeak. These pads have been fine so far and have been on the car for 7k miles and still have more than 3/4 life in them. They'll probably last me like 17k AT MOST. But I went through the duralast gt pads at 7 to 8k miles and I had 3 sets. And truth be told in the video he does actually do alot of hitting the brakes randomly and downshifting lol, why idk. But I had seen several reviews about the ebc yellow stuff pads and they're alot more street friendly then these hp plus pads, and you can track them aswell.... because my current pads literally got people telling me I need new brakes.... when they are new, they're just naturally squeaky but oh well. If I were you I'd look into the ebc yellow stuff, But me personally I've been thinking about buying a more rotor friendly pad, cause idk care about buying brake pads I can change my own pads lol, rotors on the other hand aint cheap. So if I can buy a pad that is street friendly and can be used on the track and isn't as hard on my rotors as these pads, cause idc if the pad only lasts 5000 miles as long as it's gentle on my rotors, I'll buy it.
The reason for squeaking is brake dust.. the compound used In the pads is either poo quality, whoever installed didnt clean before reinstalling new pads or your already due for new pads.. key to quick stopping is not to brake with one depress if the pedal but to jump on the anchors hard n before lose traction to pump the pedal like your playing a drum kit.. cant remember the reasons but stopping distance greatly reduced
@@shannonw6582 may have been the case on my cheap autozone pads but on these pads, they hp plus pads they're a pretty good pad/ company these are just known to squeak.... and I had brought it back to the shop to take a look at, and they said it's normal for these pads to squeak, and be very dusty. Here's an example th-cam.com/video/4y-h4UbEK_Y/w-d-xo.html They've done fabulously and I think I've only ever overheated them like once but that was alot of 160 to 40mph braking, Like 8 times in a row type stuff, but I feel like on the track I'll never be hitting 160 on a consistent basis.
The FUN PART begins at 6:22 in the video. 👍😅
you are single handedly making me want one of these cars
