I love the idea about hooking up the back up camera to a switch, like you said - then you don't have to be in reverse to use it. I'm also into 'serious music abilities; my car has 2 12 inch subs, 2 6X9 Kenwood speakers in the back & 2 6 inch Kenwood speakers in the doors & 3 500 watt Kenwood amps! I love blasting The Black Keys.
I have always wanted a watch to turn back up cameras on other than putting in reverse, now I have it. Your system sounds sick, my next step will be rear speakers. Thanks for watching!

I have several android/atoto head units and I highly recommend linking to wifi and installing the "AGAMA car launcher" app. The user interface is way better. I believe there are videos on TH-cam about it.

I have a Double din with DVD player housing I fabricated. Its 80% complete. functionally complete. My buddy opted for a non DVD unit and flat mounted them. I can send you pics if you're interested. I also have my backup camera wired to a switch. I have it wired so I can flick it on at any time. So I can look behind me with it even going 80 down the highwway. I also have a competition (non wall) audio system in my 91 Ext cab. Hit a 148.65 db

Both can be beat on and both can be fast. Silverado may take a beating better, but will also be more expensive. I like both. I would go with which ever I could find the best deal on first. Good luck and thanks for watching!!
