@@james-pierre7634 Absolutely, the cellist in this recording had a very beautiful and rich tone, but i wouldn't go as far as to claim him "better" than said "celebrity" cellist Yo Yo Ma. He's recognized as one of the most proficient and talented musicians of the past century for a reason, all from his impeccable technique and effortless playing, to his absolutely prodigious tone, light and fluffy like no one else's. Altough everyone is of course entitled to their own opinion, i would strongly advise to delve deeper into his recordings, and then come back and tell me which musician you prefer :)

There is a richness and warmth of sound that in my opinon can only be achieved by the right orchestra paired with a great song and a sympathethic arrangement and mix of the vocals and orchestral songs. Miss Laufey's vocal quality is indicated by the fact she is not lost against the orchestra.

How is it possible that this girl with this beautiful voice and incredible musical talent who’s even performed with the Iceland SO wrote a song about never being romantically loved??? How could you not fall in love on the spot???
She's intelligent. Which is often extremely isolating. Musicians as talented and proficient as her spend hours and hours practicing alone. They often use music as an escape and hobby to do because they don't "fit in" to begin with or are introverted (nothing wrong with this. The most magnificent people are usually this way). Music is something you can do by yourself.
I would say I’m intelligent and for me it is harder to fall in love/ feel loved, not sure if it’s correlated tho
Replies are right tho. But there are people who just don’t care for it. And you can really tell in their reactions when people place more importance on it then they themselves do. Laufey has made TikToks with the exact expression.

I heard this song in my climbing gym. It was so beautiful. Then I googled and found Laufey is Yaoji Lin’s granddaughter. Lin is so well known in China for his virtuoso in violin. And I love the classical element in Laufeys song. ❤
When I first experienced anxiety attacks paired with self-harm thoughts, I tried to calm myself by keeping busy. Once, I attempted to distract myself by taking a bath and thinking of random things, hoping to calm down which unfortunately didn't work. My anxiety attack intensified so I stopped everything, closed my eyes tightly, and leaned against the cold bathroom wall, inhaling and exhaling deeply. Coincidentally, Laufey’s “Let You Break My Heart” was playing on my phone at that time, and I found that it helped me calm down. So, whenever I feel an episode coming, I listen to it. When I fortunately stopped having anxiety attacks (though I still get them occasionally, not as frequently as before, when they used to occur on a daily basis), I was scared to listen to this song again because it reminds me of my anxiety attacks, and I was afraid that the song would trigger them.
Those worries are gone now since I finished this video without triggering an attack. I wasn't even anxious in the slightest.
Thank you, Laufey, for gifting us with your wonderful songs and voice. I can’t speak on other people’s behalf, but please know that your voice and song have saved someone. Please continue spreading your magic to people through your songs.
This orchestra. The lyrics. Her voice. It's all so divine. It's timeless. Time literally stops around them. It's radience. It's salvation. It's enriching to my experience of life and i never knew i needed it.

My opinion (untested) is that it’s critical to relax often while studying, because learning doesn’t work when we’re stressed. So I think listening to Laufey actually helped :-)

i stumbled on this song and its haunting , feels so poetic like someone has been plucked from the 1950s and written modern day jazz in an old style .

hello Laufey I'm from Mexico I really love good music, I'm almost 62 years old, as you can see I've been lucky enough to listen to very good music, from The Beatles and all the English groups with very good music like Genesis, and the great Italian singers, French and even Russians and Ukrainians and believe me that you are as good as all of them, I just hope you continue on this good path of quality music regardless of the genre you want because you will surely experiment in other genres, good luck and greetings from Mexico, good luck .
