Laufey says after this song: "I grew up with this orchestra. My mother plays cello here."(she didn't point the camera at her so you have to look her mother up and her name). Laufey is also a cellist. Then she added: "I am a little stressed because I share now a stage with many of my former teachers." She gives more clues about her connection with members in the band.
Björk is amazing and 30 years ago she did Gling Gló, the best selling Icelandic album up to date: old melodic jazz/pop.
That is a phenomenal album and Björk has such a unique voice she can easily slip into that genre.
Her and Laufey collaborating would be great.
But non of her own songs is a potential sing along but many are great for the dance floor.
Björk is very innovative but she doesn't bring folk together in a song. Maybe dancing but she hasn't sung any classic melody in since sung 'Oh, it's so Quite' where she is on the back burners and makes her cover of that song the most memorable.
One of my favourite songs of all times is 'Ammæli' or 'Birthday'; Björk with the Sugarcubes. A soothing melody, an absurd text in both languages, Ice/Eng and the very so much deliberate not in sync drumming and beat.
I like respect Björk and here concert are brilliant, rythmycally and visually but none sings Björk's songs together or knows the lyrics from her songbook if they are hard core fans. I challenge her to do a Gling Gló like collaboratiom on beloved evergreen songs.
She is pushing boundaries every record with a new soundscape and interesting collabs but it is too avant garde for people to break out in a song.
If you listen to Gling Gló you hear how unique Björk is in classical pop and jazz songs.
Luckily we have now in Laufey Lin a musician that is big enough to bring to the world brilliant Icelandic oldie goldies and her own music and jazz standards. My new favourite countrymen musician and singer.
Her own songs have a classical build up, great melodies, choruses and hooks and lyrics all written by herself but feel already like classics from the past.
And her at ease talking to the audience is amazing to see. Such a warm aura and kindness around her as she walks from one instrument to another like a chef between necissary kitchen utensils and ingredients to cook a great meal.
She is already a great inspiration to upcoming artists here and around world.
Eyvör, one of the best Scandinavian musicians masters also many genres. Just wanted to mention her.
This is transcendental. Whoever arranged this is a literal God. Thank you Laufey for sharing your amazing music with us. As a person who has been disabled due to chronic autoimmune issues I can say that your music came at the perfect time. It gives me hope that one day when I'm well enough I can produce my own music such as this. Thank you so much
Fragile is already a favorite of mine, but this just makes it so much more ethereal, majestic, and lovely than it already is. Thank you Laufey, this is absolutely glorious.

The way she says the word "fragile" is so delicate it really feels like it could break any time
This version of fragile is probably my favourite out of all the orchestral versions. It just give such a subtle but exciting vibe. It reminds me a lot of La La Land.
I have never heard bossa nova x orchestra. This arrangement is amazing!
Do your research , it s not a bossa nova, maybe a cord or two .bossa nova and orchestra has been done 50 to 60 years ago already.

Her music makes you wanna go back in time where balls happen, where you wear a gown like a noble lady, being picked by a random noble man for a dance, looking at each other's eyes like time flows so slowly, ignoring other people, falling in love, then waking up because it was just a dream

This orchestral version gave me a new interpretation of the song. The original felt somber but certain parts in this pick up with more energy and feels very fanciful which makes the moments when it slows all the more fragile
I heard this version first and was so upset to find out the original didn't have the orchestra. They're SO good!

It’s a laufey type of morning 🤓
There are a few moments when you strike the pickup on your guitar. It isn't low enough to resonate in the hall, might i suggest updating the arrangement to incorporate this. Cue the lower perc section whenever your about to do that, it would make all the difference for the rest of the ensemble to follow.
