It depends on HOW the phone falls. most people doing drop tests do it in a way unintentionally where the phone is more likely to survive as they would drop it flat or on its side or something but when it happens by accident you don't know the outcome. Its like when a perfectly healthy person falls down the stairs vs someone who has their hands cuffed as the latter guy cannot use his arms and legs properly to help him balance and control his fall but the other guy at least is trying to reduce the damage. A GOOD phone drop test would be to throw the phone a little in to the air (obviously NOT yeet it but only slightly throw it up) as the phone will rotate and all sorts before landing
My phone bounced down 12 steps of stairs without a casing and didn't break, but it fell out my hand from 4 feet and half the screen shattered.....

Eh, they would just get the same manufacturer to make an apple branded repair kit that costs them about $3, then they would sell it in their DIY repair section for $199. $196 in profit on each repair kit. That sounds about right. It's cheaper than a new screen, and still expensive enough to be ridiculous and people will still buy it.

A cracked screen is the reason why I am a huge advocate for phone cases. I still don't understand why people have this need to carry around a phone without a case. They're just asking for trouble.

for anyone wondering, I'm pretty sure the liquid used here is some sort of resin. it's probably not the kind that cures with UV light either. it's a form of plastic so all it does is bind the glass shards together and blend them seamlessly. as far as I know it shouldn't cause a big problem with the touch screen, unless it's at the bottom where some phones use a finger scanner. in case anyone uses this and gets bubbles, I reccomend brushing the liquid on with a brush and applying careful heat to it with a lighter for example, it smoothes out the top.

But, the main problem of cracked screen is that the display is ruined not because the cracks but becauss the unwanted lines all over screen or the color is distorted. So, can it repair that too?
This is definitely an incredibly interesting and potentially wallet-saving use for a 5 dollar thing that is used to fix car windshields.

I did this back in 2003 with a CRT monitor. I was omw to an automotive school and my monitor got cracked during the move. So I got some windshield repair liquid like that, and fixed it up. Works great!

@@velocity37 you can protect it with a piece of tabe or something beforehand, but from my conclusions, speaker should still be usable even if you fill it up. The mesh kind of protects the speaker itself, and for such a small layer, the sound COULD (i'm not sure if it really is) be hearable.
