Demystifying Heat-Flux and Power-Compensation DSC: What You Need to Know

  • There are two main designs of DSC instrument; heat-flux and power-compensation. Although they produce the same data, they are constructed differently (single furnace and dual furnaces respectively), and understanding the effects these differences have will really help you in designing and interpreting your data! In this video, we look at these differences and see how and why transitions in a DSC produce peaks.
