My grandfather and grandmother on my father's side of the family used to have a seaplane business and in 2009 they sold the plane because my grandfather had a heart attack and the doctor said he couldn't fly anymore. He was heartbroken about it.
Came here from world of warships, using tone a hybrid cruiser with float torpedo bomber planes. Have a question. Since, these planes have been ard from WW2. Why don't modern designers come up with retractable floats? Just like their airway strip counterparts?
Thanks for the amazing memories! I flew floats back in the 80’s in northern Canada. C180, C185, Beaver, and single Otter. Great times!
