Merry xmas Hori and Rangi.....can you tell us the history or the cultural significance of the area you fish in? I see headlands in the background, what are they? Where does all the driftwood come from? Who were the people that occupied the whenua? Either way, love hearing your korero my bro
The cliff in the background is Young Niks Head. The bay is called Poverty Bay named by captain Cook as apparently the local people of the day wouldn’t give him any food so he named it Poverty Bay, the fishing is not good here at all so it lives upto it’s name. The local people are Ngati Porou and Tuhoe, have a safe festive season my friend 😝😝😝
