Corn snakes (Pantherophis Guttatus) are beautiful animals and make great pets. In this video I show my own pets and why you may or may not want one for yourself!
Over the past few months I have decided to make changes to my husbandry. I now would recommend using a halogen bulb on a dimmer for your hot spot, and uvb for all snakes. Of course, you’ll want to research which halogen wattage and uvb light will work best for your specific animal, but this is what I have started to change all of my enclosures to. I no longer feel like a ceramic heat emitter and/or heat mat will provide the correct type of heat to help these animals thrive, and those types of heat should be used for supplemental use only for increasing ambient temps and helping with the heat gradient. :)

You can just type in reptile moss cave and they should pop up. It seems like the price must have went up a lot on most of the ones I saw. I used to get them for about $6
Buy one anyways. Buy the right materials first! Then buy the snake . Super simple to care for. Just research and decide what you want . Never have been bit by my corn snakes . 3 years strong .

@@jonVolunteers Pueblan Milksnake, Mexican Black Kingsnake, Speckled Kingsnake, Ball Python. This also just depends on the individual animal and sometimes age. When my snakes were smaller they were all more squirmy

If you don’t mind me asking how do you like aspen I’ve always here bad things about aspen saying you get a bigger chance on getting mites
I have never had a problem with mites coming from Aspen. Aspen is pretty much my go to substrate for colubrids.

That was a 40 gallon with my adult corn snake in it. He now is in a 60 gallon

My corn snake have also never bitten me. My Florida King and Cali King are equally as handleable as my corn snakes but those king snakes will bite me
