I was sitting at a red light the other day and my needle maxed out. Whipped in to the gas station and my wife brought me a new one. It fixed it. Cold start sends it to about 50 and it drops down to 40ish after it warms up. I notice it increases as rpms go up. '01 4.0

Don't worry about it. The Gauge isn't a Gauge. It only has 2 positions - off and middle. The Gauge is probably bad, but there's nothing wrong with your motor.

What if I got high oil pressure? 2000 jeep wrangler. Maxes out the gauge when the rpms go up

I believe the change took place in 2002, so I think the same applies to the 2004 model year.

Some of those new sensors are now chinesium junk.
