I thought it was a mistake at first that the narration wasn't there, but I've watched every video of yours and I knew exactly what you were using and what you were doing at each step, and I heard your smooth voice and everything hehe. The only thing missing was the snark and silent judgement at the old conservator's job.

I thought you forgot all about ASMR and switched to documentary-style videos. I am so thankful for you, and this video. Major insomniac here and as interesting and -yes- still relaxing as your recent videos have been, I have struggled to sleep with them playing as they haven’t been for ASMR purposes.
    Thanks Baum 👏🏼

Yes, I like the non-commentary ones since it helped me relax and ease into a restful sleep. The usual narrations are too interesting that I end up immersed and absorbed into paying close attention. What a problem!

Yes, I really used to enjoy his videos without all the critical comments and philosophies. I’m very glad he’s gone back to the more relaxed and fulfilling style that got us hooked in the first place. I so enjoy his mastery of his technique, without the distraction of the “frills”.

I've spent many decades studying great art, Mr Baumgardner. This naturally leads to observing how damaged masterpieces are cared for. I've seen, to my horror, so-called "experts" inflict horrible damage on great works by the masters...from the Louvre to the Vatican. I have come to the conclusion, sir....that you are the best fine art restorer/conservator in the world...hands down. If I ever had someone come to me and ask about bringing a damaged masterwork back to life, I'd refer them to you. No one else. Keep your videos coming. They bring me joy!

Brilliant work! I also can self-narrate in Julian's voice (of course) and did so happily. I could even hear the lecture about how the conservator's job is to hide the damage and not repaint the piece, which for this job, was a huge challenge. There was SO much damage and missing original paint --what tremendous obstacles both ethically and physically. Yet, what an absolutely brilliant outcome. I'm sure the client could not possibly be happier with this final result. This video was a true "master's class" in conservation, by a true master conservator. Thank you so much for sharing this project with us.

I love the paintings you work on. I enjoy watching the process from chaos to serenity. It would be interesting to see what kind of frame would work best with these paintings.

The zen of restoration. Even without narration I clearly hear your voice guiding us through the process. “Washikozo” (kōzogami - I believe more accurate but doesn’t nearly roll off the tongue as well). Thanks again for sharing your art and skill with us.

I really like when you post both narrated and ASMR versions of the same videos. I know a lot of people like the asmr but i watch these when I'm falling asleep and the sounds make me want to look when i can otherwise listen to your description
Note: i also do watch them when I'm awake lol

Wow, that was impressive. Thanks to having seen all your videos, I knew exactly what you were doing; if you ever do a fully narrated version, I'll watch it, too. Thank you for making your work accessible. I'm an art historian and I've learned a lot.

I believe he already uploaded the narrated version. Unless it's deja vu, I think I've already watched it. Should be able to find it on his channel.

When you see those colors come out, that has got to be a total Freudian thrill!!

I must say, I'm a fan of your narrated videos, but this also has it's beauty.

I first found the narrated video and I was just thinking "man, I miss those asmr-ish videos".
    There I have it!
