Thanks for this Tom, looks like a lot of game for the price point. For some reason Pipeline didn't catch my eye, but this looks like a great contest of wits that my better half will enjoy besting me at. Really glad I wandered over here from your videos with SUSD and Rodney, the energy you and Zee bring to the table is awesome.
I get from this review that Tom really likes this one. I suppose it didn't get the seal of excellence due to being too much of a brain burner for everyone. I, however, am excited to get my hands on this.
The issue I had with the game is the phases were only interesting depending on the point of the game. For instance, at the start, you will focus more during the construction phase since you don't have any active connections. This makes the trucking phase almost pointless and most of the time we were just passing, doing nothing. There was no point of bringing in a truck since there wasn't anything to ship or receive and since there was a limited amount, we preserved the cards. Then once you have a network, you will be focusing more on the trucking phase and just get pipes so you can get more truck cards, making the construction phase kind of empty. The game had too many downtime phases that felt empty and not fun. I guess it just wasn't for us. It's wasn't as brain intensive as us as it was for you, especially since you can just stack the pipe and make any adjustments along the way...also my duo are pretty good at pipe-style games. I understand how it's a fun game, just not one that worked for my little duo.
Thanks for the review!
Wow I really want this game. That truck mechanism is cool.

Thanks, Tom! This game looks really fun/heavy for such a small game. Definitely must try.
After Pipeline's almost perfect gameplay I will literally play anything Ryan Cortney makes.
How did you play it with three? I thought it was 2 player only?
Edit:
Oh you meant the colours, my mistake haha
I was also wondering about that haha
I think he’s reviewing another game?
Yeah that transition threw me for a loop as well.

I already pre-ordered it after seeing playthroughs by BeforeYouPlay and Heavy Cardboard. I’m a little surprised that even Tom appreciates it.
Fancy new mats!
Love the new tablemat!
Patch work vibes
If all of the tiles in Patchwork were 2x1 rectangles?
