I liked everfest, tbh I loved everything before outsiders soo much. Uprising and Dynasty were fun and my favorite for me but Tales and Everfest are great. I really agree with your takes here.
yeah overall i agree with your thesis here. EVR was a powerhouse set that supported every class in the game, and was at least as impactful as CRU was on the metagame at the time. EVR was a good set overall, and it's nice to see the landscape of fab shift such that some of these cards are seeing new play.
Everfest was probably the first real ramp for every class. Just about it. I mean I could speak for runeblades use pretty much every card from that set. It's probably the first set that really defined a lot of classes outside of their initial release
This set ages like wine. My favorite non-draft set. You didn't even mention the item cards, which may not ever be meta relevant, but could play a role in the game's future.
Damn no mention of pouncing lynx? A card that was too OP in blitz and possibly right now in CC in Katsu
But yeah Everfest is a very useful set, but also at the same time nobody wants to open it so Swing big and the other Ms are always gonna cost a lot
If a card is banned, I consider it not super-useful to the future of the game - and the thesis was how EVR would continue to impact the game forever. Hence, why this wasn't about Starvo either.
But, to your point, the mask is certainly strong!
And what happened to Unlimited? Was it really cancelled?
They shredded and recycled it 6 months ago.
