This boat looks more like it’s for maybe a weekend trip and not so much long passages or extensive time on board.

To be honest most people cant do more than a weekend trip. So in many ways it makes a bunch of sense. Wish it had more storage around the kitchen. looks like many surfaces are not gel coated. Looks ruff in spots. . it does Look super seaworthy. Cant wait to see they do with it.

If you check out the Norwegian expedition with Børge Ousland and two others who took a Corsair 31 trimaran all around the northpole; Norway, Russia, westpassage, eastpassage, greenland, Iceland and back to Norway you will see that it is not this boat that is limiting. It is the people on board. He still owns the corsair now 15 or so years later, and he is sailing in Northern Norway, to Jan Mayen etc. I would really like to have a boat like this 😊

Obviously go north in the summer and south in the winter. Georgian Bay in Ontario is fantastic. I’ve always wanted to sail the Eye of Quebec. New Foundland is a good cruising area and Bra D’Or Lake in Nova Scotia. Farther south Maine, Martha’s Vineyard, the Elizabeth Islands and follow the Connecticut shoreline. The train service follows the coast so you can go get your truck camper easily. I’d base out of Newport for a while perhaps. The Chesapeake Bay is good for long time. Then skip past everything to Florida and the Bahamas. It does not look like a good offshore boat. Perhaps ship it to Puerto Rico and explore the BVI, USVI and my favorite, the SVI. Vieques and Culebra. From there going downwind you could sail back to Florida with the wind behind you and current with you, it would be a fast trip through the Bahamas to Florida. So. You would only need to ship it one time to PR. If you would like to know some cool anchorages send me a PM.

I owned a corsair 28 before but I wasn't that impressed . Like you said in your other video it's a compromise between racer and cruiser. I heard comments before it sailed like a hobie cat but no it does not. I used mine mainly for curising and as most people who read this will know when you go cruising you need a lot of equipment starting with a decent anchor and chain and then a second one tools and and and. So when you load this boat up it starts to sail like crap .I sailed mine up to Naples from Key West in about 25 knots from the North so the wind right up the nose. It was the wettest boat I have ever sailed on. The entire inside of the cabin was wet. The floats have these little plastic inspection ports that need to be resealed every few years. There is no way to find out if you have water in one of your floats and no pump. The only way to find out is by opening these ports and take a look inside. I think I got close to sinking my boat one time because of that. The way I found out was because I couldn't tack anymore.Lets just say I was more than once pretty scared on that boat No I would not recommend this boat as a cruising boat. But I guess what you are doing trailer sailing and cruising is fine. The overall build quality is pretty good though.

Unfortunately Corsair F…………d’ the original Farrier designs up so badly, they were structurally compromised. Hence the near collapse of the company, and saving by Ian. Only to be screwed over by them twice.
Would never ever buy one, unless you buy a Farrier.

  • @gregorydamario7977

I like the boat a lot. You can get to your cruising grounds much faster and go into shallower anchorages. That is a HUGE safety factor. You can out run, hide from, or otherwise dodge storms. I am a big fan of Corsair, but under no circumstances am I going to sleep in that aft cabin. You brave, "comfortable in confined space" folks might want to sleep there, but for me, that is storage. Unless the deck hatch is open, it has inadequate ventilation. And, in some remote or even nonremote anchorage, in the middle of the night, a pirate (OK, a run of the mill nautical criminal) can board your board your boat and trap you in that cabin. The best place to sleep is in the main cabin in the berth with the table down and second best is the V-berth. I had a Pierson 26 for years which had a very similar layout, but a bit wider in the beam because it was a monohull, so I know. The next thing to do is to remove that worthless main cabin starboard setee and build up a cabinet for food and kitchen supplies or even a flat workspace. Remember, this is, regardless of what the brochures say, a two person boat! You can bring two adult sized friends for a day sail to a nearby marina or maybe even anchor out for a short weekend, but if you are going to do some fun extended coastal/FL Keys/Bahamas cruising, it is a two person boat! Put your light weight, small, rowable dingy on one of the trampolines. On the other side put a paddle board or kayak. Mostly have fun.

Cool boat , . Do u have an idea as to wave height safety n wind speeds. Also propane? Storage. The water heater works off the generator..
Great fior the fla keys n Bahamas ,or too rough there crossing. Arizona lakes ,Reno NV , etc. all great places
    Have fun

  • @scottpetrone6284
    @scottpetrone6284 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Excellent content! Wow she's a trim craft. What really resonates with me is the tumblehome bow or "inverted bow" quite different than anything you would normally see.
IDK about the sleeping arrangements? Almost like sleeping in an MRI machine. Where's Jetty going to sleep? Hopefully she's put dibs on the said area in advance.
I don't know how vertically challenged you guys are so it's a good thing you're in pretty good shape. Like I said she's a "trim craft" not meant for some of us.
I'm guessing there's very little airflow because I didn't see any fans below deck, design oversight????
Anywho I like her! Perhaps in my next life I'll learn how to sail and by that time they'll be on their third or fourth iteration of this design.
    Fair Winds!
Oh yeah does she have a name? She can't be nameless, definitely not!!
You could call her "Kibbles And Bits" or give her a little more edgier name like "Blade Runner"..... Nah that's too bougie. Come up with something, she's definitely a she!

All you really need is a couple of crab traps and a good boat pole for bottom fishing for rockfish (season runs March through Oct). Chinook Salmon season in the Sound starts in July or August but it's heavily regulated so check before you fish.

Lake powell In southern Utah and Arizona. I keep my boat there for the last three years and still 80% to explore! I don't think I Will ever see it all it has more shore line than the entire west coast of the US. Not to many sail boats on the lake not sure why but the Corsair looks perfect for it. Avoid July and August for the tourists and the heat.
Check it out! Hope to see you there.

The head arrangement.... Hmmm.... Let us know when those long sewage hoses start to bug you. I would expect they need a lot of flushing to clean them out, or you have a smelling toilet. Hot water tank? really? Hmmm. Can you take a headroom measurement for us tall people in the cabin? I am 74.5" high - can I stand at the galley?

Love the flush cockpit and this boat is rigged! Corsair has come a long way since my 2006 F24. I miss my trimaran and would love this boat. I like the synthetic standing rigging too and that orange aesthetic!

    Lots of carbon fiber!
Not much living amenities but it’s not the purpose of this boat.
This is a piece of racing equipment

It’s a pretty good compromise between racing/cruising/trailering for a boat this size/type. Check out this video to see what an actual racing tri of this size looks like th-cam.com/video/YL_NnhyFAHQ/w-d-xo.html

Nice looking boat. If you're heading cross country, plan a stop in Colorado this summer. We have several large lakes/reservoirs for sailing. I spend my summers in the mountains and winters in the Bahamas.

Nice quick tri and you definitely need to blast over to Catalina Isl. when in SoCal. If you need another experienced multi deck hand to pull the strings ping me!

I say you go to Lake Mead outside Las Vegas. You can sail right up to Hoover Dam and use it as a backdrop.
Then the other end of the lake there is a whole area of fire red rock formation comes right down to the shore.
And beyond that is a section of sheer rock high cliffs on both sides of the lake/river. The desert scenery of
every kind along the lake would be a whole world away from where we normally see you all. And this sure is
the time of year for it. I think that trimaran might melt if you take it there in the summer. Wicked hot And no wind.
Sailed my 18 ft Hobie Cat there for about 6 years. That was 32 years ago. Fair winds you guys.

The fit out looks good, and is comprehensive, but it’s far too heavy to be “fast”.Multihulls are fast only when they are light.

Just started the episode and my fiancee popped her head in front of my screen to ask if that was Chris Evans. Some Billy in a cable knit thirst going on here. I'll be right back. Some business to take care of. ;)

What are the dimensions of the boat? How many hp is your engine? Is that the only one you have? How many gallons of fresh water ater can you store? How much fuel? Can you go across oceans in this boat?
