Back in 1999 when the arena was built, the arena was originally laid out in a rather unusual manner, with the club seats and luxury boxes aligned solely along one side of the playing surface, and the general admission seating along the other three sides . This layout was a vast contrast to many of its contemporaries, which have their revenue-generating luxury boxes and club seats located in the 'belly' of the arena, thus causing the upper deck to be 2-4 stories higher, to me city of Atlanta is the New York of the south since have busy big airport and massive transit system especially the city has subway system.
This arena is such an UPGRADE if you compare it to how it looked in the Philips arena days. Such a depressing arena back then and not being able to walk all the way around was so weird.
For someone that used to come to the games the teams sucks and everything is so expensive and they trip abt trying to move closer when the hawks clearly losing

@@cedricthomas9069 That makes me feel a little better! I work in the music industry and we did a show there last fall. We used the gym that is connected to the Hawks locker room, so I assumed that was where they practiced.
The Hawk Bar is so dumb. Coulda kept ice at State Farm Arena if you kept the original floor layout. Now the bar prevents a full sheet of ice from being installed for hockey
Its the smallest arena in the NBA but also has been ranked 1st overall in game experience on multiple occasions.
