TAEYEON’s DEBUT & wrote the lyrics to her own debut!😉 TAEYEON said herself, she don’t care about award shows, what’s popular, or what everyone wants her to do. She wants to do her own thing. And that is also the way that Seulgi approached making her solo debut with 28 Reasons. I am sure Seulgi looks up to Taeyeon like many other Idols do and since they were both in GOT The Beat together, so Seulgi actually got to hang out with Taeyeon (and BoA) and talk about this stuff.
It was filmed in New Zealand. And in mv Taeyeon is kind of lost and searching for herself so she makes a trip and drives to meet her true self. In the end she finds her. It's not so complicated. The song itself really broke through. I think I remember it was played in radio even here in Finland then. That tell's something about this song's popularity.
This track is, in many ways, the more typical 'featuring'. The track had been released and Taeyeon had never even spoken to this person 'Verbal Jint', let alone met him. The first time she spoke to him was when she was the guest on Sunny's (another SNSD member) Radio Show. They arranged for Verbal Jint to phone in and speak to Taeyeon, without clueing her in to who it was. It took her a few seconds of total confusion before she worked it out. And as to the first time they actually met, Taeyeon was doing a small live performance for some of her fans. At the applicable moment in the song (where she expected to simply continue singing without the rap section), Verbal Jint walked in from the back of the crowd (obviously complete with microphone), performing his rap. This time it was less confusion, and more just shock.
Nobody who reacts to this song for the very first time knows that automatically. New Zealanders are proud that scenery from their beautiful country was featured in this AMAZING video. Why is that 'funny'?
