I have a 4 barrel Edelbrock and for some reason it doesn’t have an electric choke. I’m just starting to learn about carbs but how does it work without a choke cable or an electric choke? The truck worked for about a year fine like that and now it’s definitely not working right. Any thoughts? Other than of course getting an electric choke?
I have a 318 la with a bizarre "electric choke" that really sucks. I'm having to adjust it all the time. So I actually am switching to a manual choke for ease of use.
There has to be a defective part The two things that come to mind Does the choke have power or ifs it uses heat from the manifold is the vacuum tube clear Next Make sure the choke closed when the engine is cold If it's hit closing the choke thermostat spring is defective
Very useful video, as a 28 year old enthusiast, learning how to use a carburetor has been a journey! Thanks for your insight, truly appreciate it!
Glad I could help

The choke is necessary for a cold start
Is the problem with it not starting in the morning ?
